This two-book series features literary editor Katherine Cameron, who is shocked to learn she inherited a Caribbean property from her eccentric Aunt Jane. Kate and her husband Matthew are in for an even greater surprise when they visit the luxurious resort and find it caters to a sexual fantasy Kate never knew existed. The ultra-high-end Ciel y Mar Resort is exclusively for couples living the hotwife lifestyle. Managed by her Aunt Jane’s former lover, an old islander named Elijah, and his handsome young nephew Joshua, the tropical paradise could be a transformative experience for the uptight, demure Kate as she attempts to live up to her aunt’s expectations and continue her legacy. Exposure to the excesses and wild behavior of the guests and staff seems designed to either bring the most fundamental change to Kate’s persona, turning her into the hotwife of her husband’s dreams, or shatter an otherwise idyllic marriage. The story is told from both the husband’s and the wife’s perspectives to capture the raw sexuality and a more cerebral, feelings-driven narrative of the hotwife lifestyle. PLEASE This two-volume series should be read in order. These books are intended for adult audiences only as they contain scenes of explicit sex, multiple-partner sex, wife-watching, and interracial sex.
Kate, an extremely conservative professional, inherits a Caribbean island resort. Unbeknownst to her and her husband Matt, the resort caters exclusively to hotwife/cuckold couples. All of the resort's employees are young fit black men. (surprise surprise )
When they make their initial visit they are of course shocked at what they see going on all over the place. It seems Matt has had a long-held secret wife-sharing fantasy. (surprise surprise )
The first book details the various sexual debauchery they observe as Kate gradually accepts her new role as the owner of a sex resort. She also begins to be more comfortable with her husband's desire to share her. Book one ends with her first time with another man.
Book two is all about her trying everything the resort has to offer. Matt can hardly believe the transformation of his wife into a lover of BBC. Also, she falls in love with one of the men. (surprise surprise) Matt is angsty of course but he ends up accepting his wife's lover and they become a throuple. There is no humiliation or cuckoldry in the story.
I don't mind telling you I ended up skipping and scanning most of the second book. Just very predictable and a bit boring.
This was great and well written. A heart warming story.
If I have any faults with it it is the wife’s complete conversion so fast. I would have preferred more sex between Kate and Matt to reinforce the fact that she really loved Matt. She kept saying it but no actions really followed it. It’s not that her statements were hollow the actions just weren’t written into the story unlike some stories where the statements do seem hollow and there is an avoidance of action to prove the love.
Also, I think the story would have been more real if Matt had been more troubled by some of her actions and her doing more to make it up to him. More along the lines that she was going too hard too fast for him. That Kate would have cancelled some events to be with her husband to feed and nourish his love of her.
I also didn’t care for the fact that she stayed with Joshua 1 week per month without Matt. I think Matt would have been more troubled by that and shows a lack of respect for his feelings. They both stated this was about the 2 of them together but that wasn’t them together. That was all her leaving her husband out and alone.
I also would have liked a more complete ending. More about the development of the relationship with Joshua to cement the fact that her true love remained Matt.
The only hole in the story, or actually piece that could have been left out, was the last party. I didn’t quite get the actions of Juan and Maria. There didn’t seem to be a purpose and no real “disaster” as described earlier.
Great story. Really enjoyed having both Matt’s and Kate’s thoughts and was hand,ed really well.
You must read both books! Book 1 establishes the plot and the storyline, and Book 2 grows and develops it. Alex creates a great, and intriguingly different, story for those of us who enjoy the ‘hotwife’ scenario. The prime character is a young women, raised in a classic British way, who although married, is totally inhibited sexually. Her husband is typical of many men who have erotic sexual fantasies that include their wives, but know they will never be fulfilled. :-( Then an amazing inheritance, that is a totally ‘unique’ Caribbean resort, changes everything - initially in a very challenging way, but ultimately in an amazing way! The pace of the writing never drops, and you REALLY want get to the next part of the story. This is not the standard and clichéd Hotwife story. It is very different and very enjoyable. Well done Alex! Highly recommended.
This is a story of a mid thirties couple from England. Kate and Matt. He is the owner of an art dealership. He has a thriving business and is well connected within the art world. She is a writer for several publishers and works from home.
She inherits a resort on a small island in the Carribean from her aunt.
The characters, the dialogue, and the story are beautifully written. The story is believable. The richness and depth are outstanding, without being boring or onerous. From the start it’s interesting and light hearted. The stories are told in parallel by both, giving you the mans’ and womens’ perspectives simultaneously. It puts you in their heads perfectly.
They have been married for over ten years. She was brought up in a very conservative household with a wild ‘black sheep’ aunt. She spent time with the aunt during a few summers in her youth. In her upper teens, Aunt married a wealthy man who subscribed to the Hot-Wife concept. They built a resort on a tiny island in the Carribean. The family lost track of her because they never left it. Nearly twenty years later, the widowed Aunt dies and bequeaths the entire estate to her. Her disbelief is fun to read.
Matt has had fantasies regarding hot-wifeing for many years. He is ashamed to admit his perversion to Katie. His excitement is palpable. He gradually expresses his appreciation for the raw sexuality exhibited everywhere.
This is a two book set. They comprise a single novel of around four hundred pages. While this is told from both partners perspectives, the choreography is purely from Matt’s point of view.
About a third way thru book two, when she acclimates herself to other partners, she becomes selfish and ignores her watching husband. He does NOT get involved beyond watching. His observations and thoughts are all that’s written about.
She goes on and on about her emotional turmoil, but it’s all about her. Her only concern with Matt is about his potential jealousy. She does nothing physical to reconnect with him.
Extremely disappointing. Matt reclaiming her is never in her thoughts or actions. She begs for Joshua to take her last virginity. That’s her request after connecting with Joshua. Immediatly after cleaning Joshua, she requests that he take her last virginity. Not reconnecting with her husband. That may never take place. From now on the erotic adventure will be strictly from Matts point of view.
The choreography is R rated. Sanitized.
While there is no jealousy or cheating, she porclaims her love for her husband, but she claims to love the lover. This thrills Matt, but he makes no demands to maintain his position within the ‘throuple’. He becomes the extra man. The descriptors are strictly from his viewpoint, not hers.
The balance is lost, and so is the potential for scorching heat.
Her descriptors are glowing, but it’s past tense, and muted. How she felt when it was happening, is not covered. Matts viewing is non specific as well.
This is a brilliant story line. Well written. The characters are warm, loving and likable, even the bulls. The descriptors are repetitive to the point of annoying. The same descriptors over and over without varying. The color is repeated every single time. We already know he’s black, we don’t need to keep repeating that same description. Every single stud is gorgeous. Nobody is a few pounds overweight or a bit skinny. No women at the resort has small tits. None of them sag. No tummy’s are mentioned.
This set started out soo well, then as it develops it falls apart. The sex scenes stop being organic. They are contrived and since there was plenty of fantasizing and previews, nothing is a surprise.
The orgasms are simultaneous, always. Like Fifty Shades, they are one per person per encounter and they always occur at the same time. That’s not reality.
The most disappointing aspect, In spite of Kates professions of Love for Matt, when she plays with Joshua, she never thinks to include Matt beyond being a spectator. She falls in love with Joshua’s equipment and believes it’s the man personally. Matt is turned on, angry, and jealous.
The editing is good. But, like the jealous, typical writers of this venue, far too much time is spent in their heads. Particularly Matt’s.
This review is for both volumes as a single book.
I will not be adding Alex Jameison to my reading li
great book but I prefered the 1st one as this one left me a bit puzzled. The first was (perhaps too ?) slow while the second rush through sex scenes as if trying to establish a performance.. As well, Kate is prude and conservative until the end of the 1st and turned to be a "total slut" in the 2nd. I would have loved a middle book to slow down her progression and give it more depth with perhaps some more interactions with other resort visitors. Anyway I had a great time reading it and will read other books from this author.
If after the first book you were wondering about the sex in this story, well it explodes here. It’s everywhere and of every type, except for a lacking of intensity between the two of them.
Notably missing is much of any over the hill excitement between our two (I don’t even know what to call them. Normally I’d say our lovers, but that is surely reserved for her relationship with her live in black partner)
No, her husband is insanely thrilled when he gets to see her with her true lover. But not always do we hear about a wonderful sexual recapture as he joins with her. All too often the sexual escapade ends when she finishes with her lover, or when she is done with one of her challenges with a multitude of other “more capable” partners.
Fully I miss reading about how her becoming a hotwife has added so much to their independent relationship.
For shame (?) she has started having sex with her lover and not even letting her husband know, so that he could even watch. Too often when her husband is back home tending to his work, they “try” to involve him by way of a zoom call. Unfortunately with the ones in which he gets to participate he is brought in long after the lovers sex has started. How many times is he not even thought about and he has no participation.
No, the ending of this story leaves too many questions not answered. Can a relationship of three really succeed, especially when the husband is away 25% of the time.
When I was nearing the end, I dreaded the thought that I was going to find a To Be Continued statement. But is it worse for me to have all these unanswered questions, or to have to face a Book Three, which is not to be.
Unanswered questions or not, this is a wonderful story. The emotions are there, even if I don’t know the answer when I finish.
I guess that means I just have to keep reading and see if I can find a corresponding conclusion in another story.
And after all more reading is not a bad thing, is it?
Enjoyable conclusion to the series. Kate and Matt confirm their ownership of her inherited Caribbean hotwife resort, plus stand down a challenge from prospective buyers who would change its whole nature. Plus they finish working their way through the club's smorgasbord of scripted sexual experiences offered to guests. They've got to know what these are to offer them to others.
Jamieson misses a few opportunities here, IMHO. The sex scenes have a scripted feel to them; people don't seem to let go despite doing things outsiders would generally deem outrageous. There's not much feeling of spontaneity or electricity. It feels like a lot of box checking despite the orgasms.
Joshua, his position as Kate's lover and a member of a throuple solidifying, shows signs of jealousy as Kate, working her way through the resort's special sex menu, dallies with other men. There could be some juicy conflict here, but Jamieson neither takes advantage of it nor really resolves it.
Kate and Matt worry about her becoming sex addicted, but that isn't really resolved either. Jamieson's style here and in previous books is to present sexual fantasy with opulence and luxury. He introduces notes of conflict but doesn't convincingly resolve them, or to make full use of the sexual creatures he creates.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and it’s likely a 4.5, rounding up to encourage the author.
I’ve looked at his other books listed on Goodreads. Although this book has a twist of the inheritance, my feeling is the author’s writing is quite formulaic: naive wife, husband wants to see her sleep with others, wife changes, happily ever after with a big black guy.
In this book, the guests are all hotwives with encouraging husbands, all the staff are black studs, wife “needs to experience all the resort has to offer” and she does.
The book is well written as far as it goes but in my view leaves out so much. The “love” scenes are thoroughly described and the husband gets in on some of the action, to the point that they end up in a seemingly stable throuple relationship with a black “god”.
The author dangles the pregnancy lure without the wife’s explanation or concern, just the husband’s, there’s no real angst in the relationship or breakups, just mild “this could go wrong”, there are no alluring women for the wife to sample or the husband to be tempted, and the staff are seemingly on call 24/7, with no outside lives or relationships.
Interestingly, although the book is written from both the wife’s and husband’s perspective, there’s little deep dialogue between the couple or their third. Thus there wasn’t the depth or nuances in the relationships that one would expect from a book of this length/quality.
So a good sexy story, well described, but so many missed opportunities to add depth.
As I write this review, I’ve convinced myself this is really a 4 Star read, will change my rating to 4 Stars to encourage the author to delve much more into the characters, their lives, concerns and temptations.
And I’m of two minds as to whether I’ll read another book by this author. I guess I’d want to know that it’s written outside of the formula. Maybe other readers can help me decide?
Probably the best Hotwife account I have ever had the privilege of reading. A young woman inherits a resort in the Caribbean devoted to Hotwife activities . From a naive background she gradually experiences all that is on offer at her resort. She is encouraged by her husband - and by her lover.
