This short book (quick read) that is meant to help you identify, understand, and thrive despite imposter syndrome feels less like a lesson and guide book and more like a conversation with my sister and best friend. Zekis does a phenomenal job of starting us at the beginning with a shared definition and understanding of imposter syndrome and its origin; then she shares a lesson in each chapter, solidfying her points through short excerpts of Black women succeeding despite experiencing imposter sydrome themselves; finally, Zekis ends each chapter with phenomenally crafted exercises and practices that remind you of your power, skills, and ability. (I've journaled more in the last couple days that I have in months and I love it!) I've found myself asking the Black women I love most in my life the same questions that Zekis asks of the reader and their answers are exactly why this book needs to exist.
If you liked reading "Daring Greatly" by Brene' Brown and/or "Lead from the Outside" by Stacey Abrams, you'll love this book.

I received this book as a gift and girl i tell you - it is an AMAZING gift, you hear what I say. This book belongs on the shelf of every Black woman's professional library. The table of contents alone will excite you to order this book today!
Its truly a beautiful reminder and guide to overcoming feelings of being a fraud and your own worst enemy.
My favorite part discussed the expectation vs reality TRAP!
If you enjoyed books like How Women Rise and/or Reinventing You then you'll L O V E this book. It caused me to remember that when a black woman leads, we all win. And the importance to master self appreciation and owning your success.
Each chapter is a step by step guide to transitioning from one role to another, being kind to yourself in the process and building a support squad that will encourage you until you make your dreams reality. ♡ Goodluck sis
