Nick wanted to spend the miserable holidays alone, but fate had other plans.
Nick Scott hates the holidays, especially since they remind him of his ex-boyfriend and his ex-best friend tangled in his bedsheets. All Nick wants is solitude, but when his lead alpha drags him to the pack Christmas planning meeting, he has no choice. When Nick meets Matt, his plans are dashed to pieces. Matt is wonderfully thoughtful and kind, and Nick can't ignore the sparks between them, but is he ready to love again?
Matt hides his real self under a strained smile, and only Nick seems to be able to see the real him. The rude alpha claims that going down this path is a mistake, but giving up isn't part of Matt's dictionary. Besides, there's a shadow from Matt's past waiting to wreck everything he's built. Can Nick be the mate Matt needs this Christmas?
"His Winter Fox" is a holiday m/m shifter romance novella that features a reluctant grump and his cheerful Christmas-loving mate. It is the fourth book in the Fox Haven series.
His Winter Fox was a wonderful addition to the series. Two newly pack members finding each other and falling in love. One grumpy alpha and one sweet as pie omega...both bringing a little baggage to the relationship but nothing to angsty...which was great. Even though it was a novella...the romance itself wasn't too hurried...just the right pace with a lovely ending.

Far too short with no time to establish characters or their connection
All I know about Nick and Matt is that they both arrived in Fox Haven seeking distance from their exes. I don't usually give spoilers but there's nothing to spoil here. Nick is grumpy, Matt is haunted, both hiding the reasons they came to the pack. They feel a pull to each other, despite a rocky first interaction, then get to know each other off page and that's just mentioned in a couple of sentences. Suddenly, they're on a date, trouble finds Matt, then they're in bed and mating just like that. Matt's ex is dealt with quickly and easily, Nick just decides to get over his ex. They hide their mating for no reason whatsoever, until the end when they kiss and decide to move in together in front of the whole pack. The End. That's it. No connection, no build up, just wham bam, thank you man. It was over before it started and it was full of all the usual errors of grammar that the rest of the series does too. I would have given it one star but I've actually read worse than this.
This is book 4 of the Fox Haven series but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone. This is the story of Nick and Matt. Both are members of the Fox Haven pack and fox shifters. Nick is an alpha and is hurt and grumpy about the betrayal in his life. He hates the Christmas season as that is when his heart was crushed. He doesn't mind people, he just doesn't want them around him. Matt is an omega who is desperately trying to start a new life but still lives in fear from his old one. He is grateful to belong to the Fox Haven pack and is happy to do things to improve the packs morale. The two of them are thrown together when Nick is volunteered to help restore the older decorations. A sleigh in particular. As the two work together, Nick's sunshine begins to break down the walls around Nick's grumpy. This is their story. I really enjoyed this story. it is well written and easy to read.

If you open the door, can you walk through? Nick, relocated hoping to outrun his past. He caught his ex fiance and his best friend doing unmentionable things with each other during the holidays. He developed a grumpy attitude and a keen distates for the holidays. Matt, relocated hoping to escape his past. His old Alpha, wanted him to marry his Alpha son, hoping to bring prosperity to the pack. Matt didn't want to be burdened with a mate he didn't know, didn't love. These two were making a new start in Fox Hollow. What happens when they are forced to work together? Can they hide from their secrets? Can they move and go on from their secrets? As they get to know each other, they have a little adventure and get to know more than each other. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story about Matt and Nick. Matt has run away from his old pack and is constantly looking over his shoulders and then he meets Nick who is a grumpy alpha. Was betrayed by his fiancé and best friend, and decided to leave his old pack and move to Fox Haven to start a new life with a new pack. When he is selected to help with the decoration committee, he recognises that Matt is his mate. After having to save Matt from his previous fiancé, they finally are able to settle down and live happily ever after.

Nick just recently moved to Fox Haven and is a bit of a grump. He doesn’t like socializing, but keeps to himself. Matt also just moved to Fox Haven, running from an ex. He works in the pack clinic. Owen the pack leader gets them involved in the Christmas preparations. This is a sweet story during the holiday season. There is drama, danger, community and love with a HEA. The book is fine, it's short and the general shifter formula. Unfortunately this book is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors all through the entire thing.
The spice scenes are glimpsed over with just a simple "oh he prepped and then fucked him" and then they're done. The villains in the stories are very lackluster and the solutions always come immediately. I love shifter romance novels but it feels like there's less and less effort to write them from this author.
Nick and Matt are new members of the Fox Haven pack. Nick is grump personified. Of course, his past gives him good reason. Matt is a sweetheart and an omega trying to move on from his fearful past. Can these two create a happily ever after with their baggage? You can't hep but root for these two. After all, the holidays can work magic on the most reluctant of hearts.

This is another good addition to the series this is a shorter holiday novella story about Nick and Matt fated mates who meet at a planning meeting, both have been hurt in the past but they help each other out and get their Hea, a good holiday read set in Fox Haven, looking forward to reading what comes next in the series.
I really enjoyed Matt and and Nick together. These two are opposites but perfect for each other. Nick has been hurt and doesn't like the cheerfulness of the season but he can't help but thew after meeting Matt. These two are really sweet together and add in some drama and an HEA and you have a great book.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, grumpy/sunshine holiday romance. I liked both Nick and Matt. Both had their demons to fight, but I enjoyed the developing of their relationship. The tension with Richard added some suspense. I kind of wish for one last scene with consequences from his father. 4 stars.

This novella is a good continuation of this series. I enjoyed reading Matt and Nick's grumpy/sunshine holiday story. I'm looking forward to more from this series.
