The spark has been lit, and now they'll burn the world to return to each other's arms.
Teo made Estela queen of the Enduares—his queen—only for the giants to steal her away on their wedding night.
Locked in a cage, far away from her new home, she plots to paint the palace with Rholker's blood. He will pay for everything he's taken.
As she schemes, Teo races across the land in search of allies among the elves. Now that he's found his mate, he will lie, cheat, steal, and slit throats only for a chance to have his soft human back in his arms. Safe.
To Ignite a Flame is the second book in Estela and Teo's duet, but it is part of a larger series called Entangled with the Enduar. It is a steamy fantasy romance featuring a desperate heroine and a powerful hero. This adult fantasy romance is perfect for readers of Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Danielle L. Jensen.
Note: This story is an adult/new adult novel with mentions of trauma, abuse, captivity, and other mature themes.
Daniela A. Mera was born into a royal Fae family in Scotland. She was a free spirit who loved traveling and cloud watching while laying velvet-soft grass. When she came of age, her mother forced her to travel to Las Vegas in order to kill a dragon and conquer a neighboring kingdom.
The dragon turned out to be a man, whom she fell wildly in love with. The couple ran away to the gentle hills of Mexico where Daniela ate lots of tacos and fruits the size of her head.
Something along those lines, anyway.
She writes whimsical tales full of lore all around the world, full of emotionally available men and women who run the world. She can be found listening to sappy romance ballads while writing scenes meant to emotionally damage her readers.
When not writing, Daniela can be found doing yoga and playing video games. Join her newsletter for freebies at: www.danielaamera.com
I finally struggled my way through this one, and I was honestly so disappointed. Honestly, the first one had potential, and I was exited for this to be a long series with multiple couples. After this one I am unsure about picking up the next one.
First big gripe, the use of Peredhel for a character who is slated to become the MMC in a next installment. As far as I am aware, Peredhel is the Sindarin word for half-elven as coined by Tolkien. As such, the use of it would be plagiarism. So how is this okay in a published novel?
And while the characters were fun in the first part, they were so fucking whiney in this one. Estella goes from angry and misunderstood to either damsel in distress of god blessed Mary Sue. Teo is one note with boring ass poetry. At least Rholkor was kinda unhinged which made his few chapters fun to read. And while Vann and Arlet stood out in the first one, they were barely in this. Melisa and Ra'Sa were poor substites, and only Thorne was actually interesting.
The pacing was off and the plot disjointed. The major plot event takes like 5 pages, the build up is slow and the pay off not worth it. There are still quite a bit of loose ends, and I don't care enough to see them cleared up. Also, the sex was not sexy. If you're gonna write monster smut and tail intercourse at least make it sexy.
Okay, this book was much better than the last one as a lot more happened, and it was just a better plot. I'm excited about the next one because I love these characters' POV'S 😁💕
✨𝓐𝓡𝓒 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀✨ 📖: To Ignite A Flame (Entangled with the Enduar, Book 2) by @authordaniela.a.mera 🔥 Releasing June 17
Following a devastating betrayal, Teo is mired by grief, loss, and rage. He forms unlikely alliances with illusive and forgotten groups while Estela must outmaneuver the cruel whims and machinations of the enemy. In the conclusion of this duet, we find Teo and Estela fighting for their people and a future together.
Tropes to expect: 🤝 Fated Mates 💪🏻 She’s Small but Fierce 👀 Tail Daddy 💠 Crystal Magic ⚔️ Interspecies Conflict 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Found family ❤️🔥 Mental health rep 💙 HEA 🌶️: moderate
Teo is such a sweet cinnamon roll tail daddy and Estela is fierce and compassionate despite her circumstances. She undergoes so much growth and deepens her understanding of her gifts. Estela continues to process her trauma and resolves to save herself and those she loves. We see her vulnerability and strength mirrored in Teo. His forgiveness and willingness to sacrifice was everything.
While there’s plenty of heartache in this story, we’re given hope for a better future where our characters can live freely and love wholly. What begins as an arranged marriage to the enemy slowly evolves into a deep love and true partnership that neither Estela nor Teo could have dreamed of. Daniela also introduces new incredible characters that set up future stories within this world and I can’t wait to read them all!
Huge thanks to the author for the ARC opportunity. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the amazing author for sharing an ARC of this book with me !! I’m obsessed !!!
“The world has fallen—so I will burn it to the ground and remake it. ”
“I will always come for you, my love. No matter the distance.”
“My sweet wife, like the little minx you are, you have snuck in and stolen all my sadness. Please, never give it back”
This book was … absolute perfection. When I first came into Enduar with Teo and Estela, I fell head over heels in love with the narrative, the magic, the legends, the love and the relationships between the characters. Book one was a “read in one sitting” kind of experience. And when I started this book, I knew it would have been the same. I felt so many things. It takes place right after the ending of book one (which is something I adore and the author usually does) and it bring you bad to that massive cliffhanger we were left with. And when the main couple has been separated … the reunion is so much sweeter!! Double pov, painful scenes that will leave you crying but also desperately asking for more. Side characters that need their own space (hopefully their own books), friendships and found family tropes that will make your heart rejoice and two mates that will stop at nothing to get back to one another and save their people. Estela goes through such an interesting and deep character arc. And Teo … we find out so much more about him, this time around that I actually fell even more for him. Always passionate, dedicated and loyal to a fault. And a bit more unhinged in their spicy scenes !!!! Love that too !!! I loved how the action kept on growing and growing in intensity until reaching that peak which was the ending. I cry only thinking about it !!! It was that good!!! I can’t wait for more !!! I’m so so grateful and thankful I had a chance to read it and I’m such a fan of the author !!!
P.S. Antonio writing the prologue is the reason for my entire life and existence !!!! I live for him !!!
“Then it truly is just the two of us in the room. Human and Enduar. Husband and wife. King and queen. Mates. We draw together like the moon and the tide. ”
“Then whatever you want, my star, is yours. When you are tired, rest your head on my lap. I will give you my strength when you feel weak, my courage when you are afraid, but most of all—I give you every piece of my body and soul. Use me.”
“You’re right - anger is not evil, but it is dangerous. Anger is what will give us the tenacity to get out of this place, but if you let it burn too hard and hot for too long, it will burn away everything inside of you.”
To Ignite a Flame is the second book in Teo and Estela’s duet, which is one duet in part of the larger series called Entangled with the Enduar. To Steal a Bride is the first book in their duet and it completely consumed me when I read it last year. To Ignite a Flame consumed me just as much.
These books do contain adult themes, and Daniela does a great job in both of them providing content warnings both in the book blurbs before purchasing the books as well as inside the books. They are impossible to miss, and they are true to what is inside the books. Please be mindful of these things if they are sensitive for you when choosing what you read.
To Ignite a Flame picks up right where the end of To Steal a Bride left off. With that being said, I would like to reference what I said at the end of my review for To Steal a Bride… “The last thing I’d like to throw into my review, is that I hope everyone has fun deciphering the secret code that Daniela threw in because she is a literary genius!” If you guys didn’t figure that out, there was a code in the chapter names of that book that had to do with a message from Teo to Estela, and Estela had been trying to figure it out for a while, and she ultimately figures it out in To Ignite a Flame. “I will always come for you, no matter the distance.” Do not fret, friends… Teo comes for his Queen. But we already know she is more than capable of holding her own.
Estela is just as fierce and resilient as she has ever been, if not more. She is at the hands of Rholker, and she is being shown no mercy. We have new characters, new trauma, and Estela fighting to get back to her people… her home. But she also has the opportunity to save the human slaves. And she is determined to do it all. We all already know how Estela is when she sets her mind to something. Nothing will deter her from getting it done.
Teo is determined to get his Queen back, at any cost. Even if that means finding allies that he never thought he would team up with. He will stop at nothing to protect his people, and bring back the woman who helped him find solace in himself again. But he knows she only needs but so much saving, and he also knows she will inevitably be fighting tooth and nail for herself, as well as Mikal if she’s been able to. “What did my father do to betray the elves so thoroughly that they would seek vengeance against us?” Hmmm… Teo has a lot to figure out in this book. I wonder if his new allies may be able to help him figure this one out.
Once again, I’d like to share some of my favorite quotes in regards to our favorite human/Enduar couple from this duet: “I’m overwhelmed by the feel of his armor and the smell of his skin. Metal. Blood. Heat. Home.” “It’s something to be marveled at, truly, that I could know him for such little time and still feel entirely owned by his soul. We belong to each other. I love him.” “Tell me a story every night we are together. I wish to know you in a way different from the bond. Gift me every moment with you and your brother, every memory of your mother, everything that has ever made you laugh. The beautiful and the terrible, I want it all.”
One of my favorite parts of Daniela’s writing is her world building. She is incredible at making sure you feel completely immersed in the world that she is writing. I can be in my worst moments and feel like I am just floating in the world she has created, instead of in my own head. She maintained stable and consistent world building in this book just as she did in To Steal a Bride, with no plot holes or lapses.
Allow me to provide some examples of that: “Weeks away had altered my memories, and I had a difficult time clinging to what was real, but seeing this is… indescribable. The lights hanging above, the forges in the distance, the mushrooms. The houses.” “There is a set of stone doors left wide open, letting out the sound of a massive waterfall crashing down on stone, drenching the air in a humid mist. This mist is neither dark nor cold like the vaimpirs mist, but it still reminds me of death. Carvings from our ancestors line the walls, illuminated by both spell lights and glowing crystals along the walls.” “Dozens of pillowy creatures radiating a soft pink hue ascend to our left, their movements fluid and hypnotic. Sadly, their luminescence offers little guidance in the dark expanse. Jellyfish, Teo supplies. Careful. Sometimes their tentacles are poisonous.”
Estela’s experiences will also hit home with us once again who have suffered at the hands of others. Teo does too, when he opens up about his childhood. I will always find comfort in the pages of books, for many reasons. Being able to relate to the characters helps a lot. Early in the book someone (I’m not spoiling who) says “I wonder if loss will be the tune my life is written to for the rest of my days.” and that is something I have felt very heavily over the last few years. It feels like every corner I turn, there is loss of some kind, and it is tiring. But being able to pick up a book that feels like a true escape, a true solace, makes those losses a little easier. It is safe, it is comforting, even if it’s just temporary. And at the end of the book it is said that, “Our small army of friends heal us, feed us - and god, it makes my heart overrun with joy.” May we all have a small army of friends to heal us, and feed us - to make our hearts overrun with joy. May we all have those friends in real life, as well as within the pages of our books to turn to in times of need, in times of healing, but also on the good days.
I look forward to the rest of the series involving our beloved Enduars, humans, and potentially our new allies. Thank you Daniela for writing such a beautiful world for us all to consume alongside you.
To Ignite a Flame is book two in the Entangled with the Enduar series where we follow Estela and Teo. I'm honestly upset with myself for not reading this sooner because I absolutely loooove Mera's characters and world to bits 💛
❤️ Monster romance 💛 Tail play ❤️ Trolls, Elves, Giants, & magic 💛 Dragon-like beast ❤️ Political 💛 Gods/Goddesses
The magic system and world was expanded upon so perfectly in this sequel, and I can't wait to get even more from Daniela Mera in future interconnected books. There's infinite potential set up right now for so many more amazing stories, and I'm more than grateful I was allowed to ARC read this- even though I totally bombed the date I wanted it read by thanks to life lifing 😅😂
If you like golden retriever type men who will also burn the whole world down for their woman, here's Teo. If you like caring women who push through their trauma to fight & are for her people, here's Estela. If you like intriguing side characters whose stories you'll get in future works, you got that too!
Once again, a 5 star fantasy romance from Mera that had me fully sucked into her world that didn't want to let me back out 💛 I'm stoked to see what adventure we go on next!
𝐓𝐨 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 by Daniela Mera is the sequel to To Steal a Bride, finishing the duet of Teo and Estela! It’s a fantasy romance with an incredible narrative and world-building, with superb politicking and court intrigue, enchanting crystal magic, enduring love story, beautiful friendships, and raw descriptions of the emotional toll from the aftermaths of war.
𝐀𝐝𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐁𝐑 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞: 🔥 Feminine Rage 🔥 Fated Mates 🔥 Touch her and ☠️ 🔥 They’ll burn the world together 🔥 Lots of longing & mutual pining 🔥 Steamy + Tail play 🔥 Interspecies conflict 🔥 Alliances & Political Intrigue 🔥 PTSD + Healing together
I absolutely loved the first book, but this sequel is simply phenomenal. After being torn away from the trolls and her husband, Estela’s character growth is enormous and she absolutely became the queen I knew she could be! Teo always has my heart - he’s a cinnamon roll and morally-grey wrapped in one, he was definitely willing to burn the world down to get his wife back!
Their reunion is so bittersweet after everything they went through to be together again, but together they can lend each other strength to heal. They totally deserved the world and I was glad they get their happy-ending, but I’m not ready to let them goooo 😭
Truly loved this duet! This book really falls into the epic romantic fantasy category. So much took place in this second book. Estela’s character growth throughout this book was fantastic. Teo managed to steal my heart over and over again.
There is just something so magical and special about the way that Daniela A Mera writes. The magic systems are so beautiful and imaginative. The overall feel to this book is just stunning. It’s like walking into a magical forest with firefly’s and fairy lights to guide you.
Now my only issue was I felt like some of the parts in the middle of the book felt drawn out and I personally felt there was a bit too much idle time. But I can also see why it was necessary to expand upon the world and storyline.
But overall I really loved the expansion of the lore and the world with this second book, not to mention all the new characters and creatures we got to meet. I am very eager to see where this series goes in the future. I def have my hopes for certain couples down the line.
To Ignite a Flame is a stellar conclusion to the story of Estela and Teo. I've been waiting for this book since the cliffhanger broke my heart in To Steal A Bride and I can honestly say that readers will not be disappointed with book 2. All the things I loved in book one carry over into book 2 and expand even more with the crystals, magic, relationships, and world. Daniela is such a an amazing author and writer, the story of To Ignite a Flame is wonderful and engages the reader to want more. With every twist and turn in the book it definitely pulled on my heart strings. The ending is very satisfying and I can't wait to read more books in the Enduares world.
Thank you so much Daniela A. Mera for providing me the eARC in exchange for my honest review!
This book picks up right after the events at the end of To Steal a Bride. Estela is a hostage of the Giant Kingdom, and Teo is practically turning the world upside down to get her back.
Estela doesn’t have a pleasant time with the Giants as one could imagine. Rholker is still in love with her in his own messed up way, and he brings in witches to shred her memories with Teo because he is jealous. Meanwhile Teo makes a deal with the elves that have broken away from the main court, and strike a deal for help. Retrieve an artifact that Teo’s father stole, and they will offer aid. Eventually Teo and Estela are reunited, but it felt like it took forever to get to that point.
While I enjoyed the book, I thought that it was a little too long, and the story was too far spread out. Parts of the story felt unnecessary, and more just plot fillers and word count.
This book was so much better than the first. I enjoyed it and felt like the story was well written and cute. I did feel that Estela fell in love kind of out of nowhere but I was happy enough with it. It felt very centered around having children, which is not really what I look for in romance but Teo was very sweet about it. I felt this had way more action and just overall more exciting. I honestly thought it was going to fully end so was surprised to find that there seem to be a couple more novellas which I assume will tie up all the loose ends. Still really good.

I definitely enjoyed reading this, again it had me at the edge of my seat and wanting to know more. Daniela's writing is amazing and I'm excited to read more of her other works.
The whole Enduars living in the water was definitely a twist and was something I wanted to learn more of. Hopefully this is mentioned in future books if any, but it felt like we didn't really get to see more of them. Also, the whole Estela being the daughter of the light weaver as well, I wish we got to know more about that and her mother's past.
Even then, I loved the book and the story telling was top tier.
I am thankful for being able to receive an eARC copy of this!

Very lord of the rings mixed with some spicy romance. I think it could've been better, some story lines were going really well and then just never finished. The battle towards the end could've been better too as we have had 1.5 books leading up to it! Spice level 2/5, Story 3/5, Character Building 2/5. Easy read for sure.
“Then whatever you want, my star, is yours. When you are tired, rest your head on my lap. I will give you my strength when you feel weak, my courage when you are afraid, but most of all—I give you every piece of my body and soul. Use me.” 💙💙
This was more of a slow read, harder to get into and stay immersed in. The plot itself overall was good, but I lost interest less than half way through and honestly just wanted to finish the book.
I absolutely loved book 1, and this was a perfect follow-on, but I personally found it dragged a bit and maybe wish book 1 was longer and just had the one book and not 2. It gave so much insight for where the rest of the series is going so I can't wait to continue on with the other characters.
I love the romance we see along the way of this second book How the bond grows and see her get pregnant at the end The reunion after she has been kidnapped 🩷 I liked to know more after all the battle but hope we see some glimpses through the rest of the books

I went into To Ignite a Flame really hoping this second book would elevate the series for me. I finished the first book intrigued enough to continue, even though it wasn’t a standout read in my opinion. I was hoping book two would deepen the world, strengthen the character development, and really deliver on the emotional intensity hinted at in book one — but unfortunately, it didn’t.
For me, this installment felt very repetitive. A lot of the conflicts, internal struggles, and relationship dynamics seemed to circle back to the same beats from the first book without much growth or progression. Instead of feeling like the story expanded, it felt like it stalled.
I also found myself genuinely bored at times. The stakes are supposed to be high — captivity, revenge, war, desperate love — but the pacing made it hard for me to stay fully invested. The emotional pull just didn’t land the way I wanted it to, and I struggled to feel deeply connected to the characters or their journey.
That said, the premise still has potential, and readers who loved the first book will likely enjoy continuing Estela and Teo’s story. It just didn’t hit the mark for me personally.
Estela is in the hands of the Giants. King Rholker will stop at nothing to keep possession of her. Even after being tortured and having her brother Mikal threatened though, Estela still has the drive to escape - and take as many humans with her as possible. While trying to rescue his mate, King Teo of the Enduares makes some unexpected new allies. Will they be able to get to Estela before it's too late?
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book. It was wonderful getting to go back to the same characters I loved from To Steal a Bride and to meet some new ones! Teo is still the kind-hearted man that simply wants the best for his people and is, quite frankly, my favorite character in the whole series. He is the quintessential ruler that wants to be nothing like his predecessor and fears overusing his power. The Enduares as a whole are a loving and supportive community. They embrace the humans and help integrate them into their lives in the under mountain with grace.
That being said, there are a few things that had me landing at 4 stars for my rating instead of 5.
First off, I love the world that Mera has built. The descriptions of the places, people, and creatures are phenomenal - usually. In this one it is very clear that it is expected of the reader to have read the first book (which, let's face it, you should have) as there are few descriptions for world building in this sequel. The new locations that are in this book are left a little lackluster with very little depiction for the reader to visualize the setting.
Second is Estela. Don't get me wrong, I love her and how much share cares about her brother and the Enduares, but her reaction to everything in this book seems so unrealistic. Excuse me ma'am, you've been tortured and pretty much water boarded. There is no way you are going to go jumping right back in water... but, you know, plot and all that...
Third, unfortunately, like many others, I found many errors. This was also the case for book 1 and I was able to overlook them in that case because I was so involved with the story. I wasn't as engaged with this one so the errors were much more glaring. Now, it is an ARC copy and hopefully things will be tidied up before final publication, but when the book is set to be published in about two weeks one would expect a certain level of polish.
**possible spoiler below** Finally, what gives with Vann? There is never any reason given for why he is acting the way he is. And then at the end when he just punches Joso. I didn't like it.
“Perhaps I should share more of my mind. We are more than lust and attraction; we are eternal. We are bonded through something greater than grief—you will be mine until we grow old and our bodies leave these mortal forms. Entrust yourself to me. I will cherish you and keep you safe.”
⭐| All of them, honestly. All the stars. 🌶️| 2/5
I can't believe I finished their duet... What a bittersweet ending. I love them and the ending they got (which they so deserved), but I'm sad it is over!! Their story sucked me in from the first chapter of To Steal A Bride, and I think it took a piece of my heart as I now finished To Ignite A Flame.
This story has a little bit of everything. Wars, crystals, found family, fated mates, friendships, distrust and loyalty, it takes you through such a rollercoaster of emotions, but I never wanted to step off the ride!
Estella's growth was EVERYTHING TO ME!! I somehow found myself loving her even more. She is so loyal, strong, determined, loving, and giving. She is a protector. Her willingness to save others and encourage others, even when she can barely (if at all) do the same for herself.. she was truly destined to be queen and it is apparent in all that she does.
My Teo...*fans myself*. I LOVE him. I loved seeing him taking on more kingly duties and seeing how much rest on his shoulders, and how he emotionally handles it all. His strength and vulnerability was so perfect to me. He is my king, that is for sure.
All of the characters (except the giants BOO! -mikal the exception from that, of course) have wormed into my heart and brain and I don't think they will ever leave. Everyone has such distinct personalities and traits, and I am so excited to read the stories of them all!!
As always, I am #danielamerasnumber1fan , thank you for sharing this beautiful world with us. I am so honored to have been an arc reader for you for these past two books, and hopefully many more to come!!
Once again, I loved Estela & Teo's journey, and felt this was the perfect ending to their duet.
The feminine rage, trauma and healing within this book was so relatable, and while this is clearly a fantasy world, there were so many parallels to our world, especially in the way women are sometimes treated by men, but also by other women.
Estela, the FMC, grew so much in this book, and I felt a profound connection to her. I loved her Spanish dialogue/ monologue (thank you to the author for teaching me some swear words in another language 😘😂), and just adored her fiesty, stubborn nature.
Teo, the tall, blue Enduar with a tail 👀, and also the MMC, was magnificent! I loved his cinnamon roll vibes, but also how he became the ultimate warrior when his mate was in danger.
I basically swapped between crying, laughing, swooning, and gasping the entire time I read this, and I loved every single second of it!
I'm so incredibly humbled by being mentioned in the acknowledgements; my littles asked if I was happy crying, and the answer was yes. Always yes, when beautiful authors acknowledge their readers/ bookstagram followers who help share their work.
To Ignite a Flame is the sort of book that stays with you, even after you turn the last page.
Highly recommened if you love enemies to lovers, fated mates, steamy romance, tail play, found family, powerful magic, cinnamon roll MMC who'll do anything for her, fiesty FMC who'll never back down, heartwarming HEA.
💢 𝙏𝙒𝙨: imprisonment, slavery, misogyny, violence, death, battle scenes, mentions of SA, consensual sexual scenes, tail play, harm to pregnant person
☆I received an ARC of this book from the author. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.☆
“We are more than lust and attraction; we are eternal. We are bonded through something greater than grief—you will be mine until we grow old and our bodies leave these mortal forms. Entrust yourself to me. I will cherish you and keep you safe.” 🥹❤️
Since the cliffhanger from book 1, To Steal A Bride, I’ve been so excited to read this book. I was so glad that it started right where book 1 ended. And what a wonderful conclusion to Estela and Teo’s story! They are the exact reason why Fated Mates is my favorite trope. There’s such a stronger and deeper connection. A truly unbreakable bond. These two fought so hard for their happiness and future. Seeing their journey to get to that point really put me on an emotional roller coaster! I’m so glad they got their well-deserved HEA which was sweet and completely satisfying 🥰💕
I loved seeing Estela’s growth in this book. Even in book 1, you know she’s got determination and fight in her. But in this book, she really shows how much of a fierce queen she is. Loved it! And Teo is as swoon-worthy as ever! Our cinnamon roll tail daddy 🫠 He is still my favorite character in this duet but I also loved being introduced to the new characters. I can’t wait to read future books in this series!
Here’s what you can expect to find in To Ignite A Flame: ✨Fated Mates ✨A small but fierce FMC ✨A cinnamon roll tail daddy ✨Crystal magic ✨Interspecies conflict ✨Found family ✨Mental health rep ✨HEA ✨Spice
Definitely read To Steal A Bride first then come back to this amazing conclusion!
Thank you so much to the author and R&R Book Tours for the e-arc! 🫶🏼
Overall, this book was much more enjoyable than the first in the series.
Pros: The plot itself is great, I enjoy the storyline and how the problems arise and are conquered.
I love the relationship between the gems and the music and magic that interact with them.
A happy ending, which is always nice in an unfinished series.
True character development and growth.
Cons (contains spoilers): There were a lot of grammatical errors throughout the book that definitely shows she is a self-published author.
There were moments that were supposed to happen that didn’t, things that were said but not fully explained, though they are minor, so I’m sure many will overlook it if not explicitly searching for those answers.
While I enjoy the occasional spicy book, I felt that the spicy scenes here were unnecessary and took away from the plot. Especially when discussing how **blue** the Enduares are, and that they have tails. It just gave me the ick, and I had to speed read through those moments.
I wish there were chapters from Vann and Arlet’s POV, showing more of what was going on between them. I do hope they get their own book.
The chapters from Estella’s and Teo’s POV were written in first person, but the chapters from Mikal and Rholker’s POV were in third person. It was confusing and hard to follow when there were too many “him” and “he”’s thrown around.

Absolutely one of my favorite fantasy duets. Estela is an absolute Queen. Literally. Sister is blessed with the light and the endurian magic. She is vulnerable but is the first one to jump in a fight. She is fierce. Prepared to do anything to save her people and protect all that she loves.
Teo. My sweet, scary, strong, beautiful Teo. Why do you have to be a big blue Enduar? Men take note on how to support your women, without dimming their light. (Looking at the bat boys) while he would love to lock his wife away "to protect her" He sends her to train and grow her magic and fighting skills. He jumps on the back of her big scary flying friend WITH her. He sits at her back. Not her front. He let's her SHINE, even if it blows stuff up. The mate bond between Teo and Estela is beautiful and something that should be emulated in other fantasy worlds.
The pacing was good. I'm an anxious and impatient person. It took me exactly 3 chapters to be full enthralled back into this world. I stayed up entirely too late with the tried and true mantra of one more chapter. Then it was an hour later, and I still couldn't stop. I cannot wait to see the other couples come to light. Arlet and Vann 😂😂 stubborn stubborn. Melisa and her companion. But don't tell them that. It's going to be so much fun!
Seriously go read To Steal A Bride, then read this book! You will not be disappointed.
To start off, I do not think my words will emphasize enough how much I loved this read. To Ignite a Flame was such a wonderful book to close the duet of Teo and Estella. This fantasy world was nothing short of perfect. Every character in these books helps build this world into something even more beautiful. The mental picture Daniela painted made me want to not finish this book. I was so engrossed I didn’t want to leave the fantasy. I love that this story showed us more backstory of Teo and showing how even with the traumatic experiences Estella goes through she still wants to fight for her people and liberate the other slaves who under a tyrant. Teo and Estella’s love and dynamic growth was one of the things I loved most. No matter what Teo and Estella have gone through, they stick together. Teo and Estella would sacrifice anything for each other and their people. This book showed that in more ways than I can say. I could go on and on saying how much I loved this book but this is already my longest typed review lol. Thank you so much Daniela for letting me Arc read these stories. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series and outside of it. Any book you write I will read. You truly write the best stories! And to anyone who loves fantasy and hasn’t read “To Steal a Bride” and “To Ignite a Flame” you will not be disappointed by these stories!
This was an absolutely phenomenol conclusion to Teo and Estela's duet, I adored book one and Daniela has nailed it with book two creating something truly magical. If you're looking for a story with deep meaningful connections, hurt, comfort, trials, tribulations, bravery and all consuming love then look no further.
After where we left book one I went into this book steeling myself against the emotionsly upheaval I knew this book was going to be. Daniela has such an amazing talent for creating beautiful fantasy worlds with incredible magical systems and characters that you feel you get to know deep in your bones.
We explore so much more of the magical system with this book and it only enhances the world in which this book is set even more. The crystals and their magical capabilities become an intrinsic part of the story while we explore so many more of the fantastic aspects of a world filled with magic both light and dark.
Estela and Teo and both magnificent, the connection they have with eachother and to their beliefs is something that practically seeps off the pages. I don't know how to describe characters that you feel deep within yourself when you're reading but Daniela does something truly magical to achieve this.
The story itself is absolutely out of this world, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, it is absolutely non stop and I would of wanted for nothing more.
“My sweet wife, like the little minx you are, you have snuck in and stolen all my sadness. Please, never give it back.”
Teo is such a perfect mix of literally burning everything for his mate, while simultaneously looking after his people. He's just genuinely a good guy, makes a change for my usual morally grey/black mmcs.
Honestly speaking, going into this duology is like walking up a steep cliff, hard to get there but worth it when you do. This is an entire new magic system and it's hard to grasp all the characters and names of everything but you do get used to it. There was a few VERY minor plot holes which I'm okay with due to the nature of this being a completely new universe and very few grammatical/spelling issues but I don't mind that as long as it's not frequent (which is isnt).
This is not very spicy so if you're looking for spice, look elsewhere but if you're looking for a whole ton of fated mate romance, a little bit of spicy sauce with it and a great plot, this is it. Especially if you want a fmc who will rise from the ashes and literally take down a whole people.
“Then whatever you want, my star, is yours. When you are tired, rest your head on my lap. I will give you my strength when you feel weak, my courage when you are afraid, but most of all— I give you every piece of my body and soul. Use me.”
