In Polynesia, tattoos are deeply symbolic, representing personal ancestry and history, and the tattooists themselves are revered. Among European sailors, tattoos have been prevalent since the 16th century and were often tied to superstitions. In ancient Greece and Rome, tattoos were practical tools, used for marking slaves or criminals. The Little Book of Tattoos is a celebration of all things ink, packed with fascinating facts, history, quotes and designs, this tiny tome is the perfect gift for anyone who is constantly planning their next tattoo.
I enjoyed all the quotes about tattoos as well as the did you know sections. There weren’t as many pictures as I expected but that did not take away from the book. It did make me think about the tattoos I have (currently 7) and what I’m planning in the future.
It states fairly general facts, but I don't think I wasted my money either. It's pretty good if you want a decent starting point when it comes to tattoos.
