A BOOK ARGUING ABOUT THE PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PRESENT CONFLICT
Authors Jimmy Evans and Mark Hitchcock wrote in the first chapter of this 2023 book, “We were aware that subscribers to Tipping Point Prophecy Update … and viewers of our individual shows would want to know how these disturbing events relate to the Scriptures and End Times events… In their own minds, our listeners would be asking questions such as these: *Why is Israel hated so much? *What is Hamas?... *Why is the Gaza Strip so important?.. *Will this lead to a larger conflict?... *Does this even relate to Bible prophecy?” (Pg. ix-x)
They state, “The Bible is … the sole authority to help us understand the place of Israel within God’s eternal plan… we unapologetically stand with Israel and the Jewish people, and you should too. We are praying that you will see the wisdom and biblical admonitions to stand with God’s special, chosen people… if you are still on the fence, we hope you will join us by the end. Israel’s supporters are on the right side of biblical prophecy. God chose Israel and gave them the land. Though displaced at times, their ownership remains. Palestinians have no biblical claim to the land through political arguments.” (Pg. xi) They summarize, “This book will explore the biblical and spiritual roots of the clash and its role in setting the stage for end times events foretold in Scripture.” (Pg. xx)
They acknowledge, “In a surprise to us, President Biden came out with overwhelming support for Israel, backing their right to self-defense… Biden sounded remarkably supportive of Israel, similar to past presidents like Trump and Bush... Strong statements from Biden and the US generals convey unified support across the administration for Israel at this time.” (Pg. 20-21)
They explain, “According to the Genesis account, Abraham was instructed to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice on Mount Moriah, the site of today’s Temple Mount in Jerusalem… About 2,000 years later, Islam emerged with a competing narrative. Around 600 AD, Islamic tradition asserted that the son taken up for sacrifice was not Isaac but… Ishmael. This … disconnects the Temple Mount from Judaism’s origins and claims it instead for Islam… Therein lies the crux of the ideological clash over this sacred ground.” (Pg. 33)
They summarize, “Despite attempted genocide and violent opposition, Israel … is once more playing a central role in the End Times… the world paradoxically sees the invisible King of Israel already advancing arising to defend His people while extending mercy to all who will repent … No weapon formed against Israel shall ultimately prosper, and no prayer offered for Israel’s peace and redemption will go unheeded.” (Pg. 41)
They assert, “from radical Islam’s perspective Israel’s mere existence … is an illegal Jewish occupation of sacred Muslim territory. They believe Israel is rebelling against Allah, and it must end by whatever means are at their disposal. Their rationale is that if the land belongs to Allah, then it requires submission to external Islamic rule, which means they must ultimately conquer by force and drive out or slaughter the Jews who live there. At its heart, Islamic theology allows only a temporary transitional season of relative tolerance for minorities, such as Jews and Christians, after which they must either convert or be exterminated… that is the eventual goal of radical Islam.” (Pg. 55)
They argue, “Some assert today’s Palestinian Arabs are descendants of the ancient Canaanites.. predating Jewish claims. However, research shows Palestinians descended from later Arab invaders after Jews were exiled. Even if they were Canaanites, God granted the land to the Israelites.” (Pg. 57)
They note, “At times, Israel has compromised significantly offering concessions that are disadvantageous to their own nation in hopes of trading land for peace. Land has been conceded, but peace has never materialized, which only proves that land is not the issue in their minds of their Arab neighbors.” (Pg. 58)
They suggest, “At its core, this clash is spiritual---part of the cosmic struggle between God and Satan…. The Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Political solutions will never fully address spiritual matters. While leaders should pursue peace, only Jesus’ return can ultimately settle this religious conflict. Until then, prayer and wisdom are needed…” (Pg. 68)
They contend, “What is unfolding is not Israel’s final war… More conflict involving the Jewish nation is ahead. So this war is not the ultimate prophetic fulfillment that will occur in the Middle East. Hamas will not win, nor will they get their wish to wipe Israel off the map… God will sustain the Jewish people… The Gog-Magog war will happen either right before or shortly after the Church vanishes, depending on your particular viewpoint. In any case, it will be very close to the Rapture of the Church. Ultimately, these developing threats will escalate into the massive onslaught Ezekiel foresees, stopped only by God’s supernatural deliverance of Israel. Present turmoil may simply be setting the stage for this climactic encounter… All things will proceed according to His prophetic plan.” (Pg. 74-75)
They conclude, “we want to summarize and reiterate five key lessons that we should embrace at this point in history: 1. God gave the land… 2. Land is not the primary issue for radical Islam…but Israel’s right to exist… 3. The world is divided… 4. This is not Israel’s final conflict… 5. Jesus remains sovereign.” (Pg. 82-84)
This book will appeal to Christians interested in biblical prophecy, and current events.
Written by Jimmy Evans and Mark Hitchcock, “What’s Next? Israel -Gaza War : Connecting Today's Headlines to Tomorrow's Prophetic Events” delves into the biblical foundation of Israel’s claim to the land; the history behind the dispute with Palestine; the rise of radical Islam and re-emergence of Anti-Semitism; End Times prophecy concerning the Holy Land; and as well as suggests a way to pray and for Christians to stand with Israel and the Jewish people.
Well-written and based on the scripture the authors detail Israel’s future and its prominence in biblical prophecy. Insightful from a historic and prophetic timeline, it will equip the Believer with knowledge and the need to stand with Israel in this momentous time.
Enthralling from first to last, I recommend it to all Believers at this crucial time in history.
These authors explained clearly, through Scripture, what is happening to and in Israel, as well as what will happen in the future Tribulation period. All Scripture used is accurate. If you are confused about the events of the heinous attacks of October 7th to Israel (to the Jewish people) or what will happen in the future to God’s chosen people in His chosen land (Israel), then please read this book. If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation!! Maranatha!
