Seeking answers of her own, Seraphina arrives at the Ravenscar residence. Reminiscecing of the past and the tormenting words of a demon, Darius loses sight of himself, threatening all those closest to him.
The story moves on quickly in this chapter as secrets are revealed and the gothic rises ever higher with Darius' fall. It feels at times there are little nods to some of the classics of gothic literature, but that may just be my mind associating images with my perception of events in the great gothic canon. The artwork is far more powerful and demonically, almost painfully, more grotesque in this chapter, but still, Harding uses the monochrome and garish red to maximum effect. Maybe Dorian Gray's portrait should have been in the same style.
Another blockbuster follow-up to the story. We can see the full extent of the wraith as it is called with a full horrifying transition that horrifies the kingdom. Story seems to transition into a heartfelt arc. Art is great with some superb visuals.
This book is excellent i find myself ravenous for the next book. The artwork continues to get better and the artists' style is a perfect complement to the story.
