LORDS OF MISRULE: Is a full length RH/Sports romance book by new to me author Maggie Rawdon. Spoken in multiple POV's.
Not sure what the synopsis says because LOOK AT THE COVER 👀 🔥 🤤 Before the blurb had even dropped one look at the cover and I was chasing that release day like a deranged female.
Then I dived in and didn't come up for breath until that last page was inhaled. Masked men (YES PLEASE) this was hot on the spice and ticked boxes I never knew I needed ticking, unique, unputdownable, and I really hope we get to dive back into this world soon!
These three boys of Vermilion’s hockey team had one focus in mind and that was to steal some rare pricey paintings, '𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒏𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔, 𝒏𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒖𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒔, 𝒏𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅. 𝑰𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒖𝒕.' thinking the house was free of its inhabitant they didn't expect to encounter Charlotte who has her very own interest in those very paintings, who's been playing the long game to acquire them. She needs them to save a loved one, they need them to get cover a debt of their own.
After getting caught masked with gun in hand the only alternative they came up with was to work with her, which also required her to live with them due to outside factors coming into play.
Rowan the obvious ringleader of the group, he's gruff, domineering, demanding and broody, he's been friends with Finn since highschool. Finns the teams enforcer, and an infamous f#ckboy has kept his attraction towards Charlotte hidden. And then we have Hudson, he's in a committed relationship and stays faithful until he catches his girl with another and all bets are off. He like the other two are drawn to Charlotte. Once she moves in things between Rowan, Charlotte and Finn heat up, it's not until Hudson is single is when he joins the fray of unbridled coupling.
Charlotte, is in Finns class and generally sits in the back and keeps to herself but she's had a quiet crush on Finn for a while but it's never gone any further than that. UNTIL the night she catches them where they shouldn't be..

When Charlotte finds members of Vermilion’s hockey team jeopardizing the long con, she’s been running, she’s forced to channel her inner badașș. Although they agree to leave, it’s only to give themselves time to regroup.
While we don’t get to know the characters in depth, we learn enough about them to understand their personalities and motivations. In fact, I think that’s, in part, why I loved this story so much. We weren’t bogged down with backstory or character growth, we were able to simply enjoy the characters during that snapshot of time in this fun and unique read.
I’ve become a huge Maggie fan with the sweet spice found in the Seattle Phantom series. Love that she took the spice next level and added a layer of grit. Super excited that she’s not finished with this world yet!

How much smut is too much smut ? I would argue that there is definitely a limit and this book had A LOT…. Like 10 chapters in a row. It wasn’t necessarily needed constantly and was a little bit overkill. In my opinion.
Despite this point, I think this book has so many great aspects. The biggest being the cover.
A round of applause for the cover !!!!!! It isn’t a random naked man or a graphic with no faces. It is 3 very attractive men, who are all looking down on me (metaphorically and physically) and yet I appreciate it. Everyone of them already screams ‘I am an asshole and am going to treat you badly’ - I am fully committed.
The banter was soooo on point. Especially between Charlotte and Rowan as they are both so quick witted and give the air of being ‘the smartest people in the room’.
Rowan is the ultimate enemy to lover. I honestly prefer this love story over the over two. You can see he cared for her, but needs to preserve this hard exterior. He is super possessive, but in a very protective way.
Finn is a golden retriever and very much her safety blanket in the book. The first 50% of the book, I forgot Hudson was there. I’m not super invest by his storyline either. If they both disappeared I would be very effected. Which is surprising because most RH I think the more the merrier.
This book just kinda ended … I wasn’t expecting it to end at the point it did at all. I think it quite abrupt and what happened to the brother, he was just gone.
I would have like a few more like tentative moments, but I would definitely recommend.

Maggie is easily becoming an auto-read author for me. It just hits every time at this point. This was such a fun spicy novella filled with ✨sharing✨
Listen, unpopular opinion but FINN!!!! Idk why I just think he's a total sweetie and I don't normally go for those so let me live in this moment 😂

I am a HUGE fan of Maggie Rawdon’s work, so when I saw she was writing something a bit darker and dipping her toes in why choose, I WAS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH WITH EXCITEMENT 😅
Lords of Misrule did not disappoint me in the slightest! This is by her spiciest book and I was L I V I N G for it. Rowan, Finn, and Hudson are 🥵 & know how to treat their girl right 😜
Plus I just really loved their dynamic with Charlotte, and that she still very much her own independent person despite her boys willing to do any and everything for her.

Let’s call this Christmas adjacent, as in its Christmas time, but this is dark, and why choose, and has an art theft plot line.
All that being said, I enjoyed this STEAMY novella! The characters, the general plot line we’re all entertaining! I loved how the group worked together and came to be, and how each of the men gave her what she needed.

Maggie Fucking Rawdon. I kid you not, I am in love with you. In love with this book. In love with all 3 of these fucking men because WHAT ON EARTH DID YOU PUT IN THIS?!
I dropped everything the minute this book hit my kindle. And for good reason. I devoured it in about 5 hours because I couldn’t put it down.
I always forget how much I love reverse harem until it’s placed in front of me to feast on like the hungry bitch that I am. And well, let’s just say that this was no exception. I CRAVED every single POV and could not get enough no matter whose I was reading.
There was nothing left unsaid. Nothing left to the imagination. Nothing left of my GD soul because the Lords took it with them after this book ended.

When I tell you that I completely devoured this book, I'm not even sure that I came up for air or to eat. I just couldn't put it down. I was sucked in from page one and just fell for every character in this book.
Maggie quickly became an auto buy author for me after devouring Pick Six and I swear she just keeps getting better and better. I mean, who doesn't want a why choose with three morally grey men that aren't afraid to wear masks and share? Right? The spice in this book...lordy....just prepare yourself...in however you need to! ;)

A holiday romance that doesn't feel like a holiday romance, THAT'S WHAT I LOVE! Some books are overly Christmasy, but the only holiday romance thing in this book is the " Lord of Misrule. " This was done in the before-fore times where they were in charge of hedonistic sh!T. They wear Krampus masks too. *wink wink*
These are hot hockey players who are desperate to do a heist but end up finding the "good girl." Charlotte. These men never saw it coming getting effed by her, and I love her personality and her snarky comeback. These men were actually stun-locked, and well, they are furious to be outsmarted by CHARLOTTE! Until they realized they had one goal: they needed each other to make this heist work.
I enjoyed the book, and holy high of Smut is their top tier. The degradation, the group activities, oh my gawd so good! Like Wild and Primal AF... cough cough ROWAN. The story had potential; it had a great plot and kept me going, but then I kind of expected that their plan would be epic, and it just was a bit underwhelming on how their plan turned out. I did love the plot, and everyone got a HEA okay <3 I just love Charlotte as a character, and I want to read more of FMCs like her!
If you are in it for the hot hockey men, the HIGH SPICE, degradation, praise, and the delicious group activities, then you should definitely read this! Holy sh!t it's hot, and this is a fast-paced book is for you.

You get a little bit of everything with this book. You like the broody a**hole? Rowan. You like the more reserved, tattooed playboy? Finn. You want the cinnamon roll? Hudson. I loved them all, it’s so hard to even pick a favorite!

I've slept several times since I read this - but I pretty much remember the sex is good, story lacked a few things for me.
Charlotte
Rowan (the bad one) and his two BFFs, Finn (the sweet one) and Hudson (the good one), earn extra cash with a side hustle. When one of their professors refuses to pay up, they decide to steal some expensive artwork from his house. Too bad for them, Charlotte is there to ruin their fun. See - Charlotte needs the money herself to ..... wait for it..... rescue her stupid as fuck brother who's being held for ransom.
So stuff happens and Char moves in with our boys and lots of sex happens. Eventually the art is taken and sold and the brother is rescued and HEA.
The things that irritated me was that when the brother was rescued, it was just a blip and he totally disappeared from the book. What a waste! Then there was a dirty cop and it as supposed to seem like he was a big threat - again - he just disappeared.
Best thing about the book, besides the hot sex, is how everyone just owned up to how things were. There was none of the awkward guilt or embarrassment that usually comes from sex sharing.
There is no M/M action - unfortunately.
If you're looking for good sex without too much plot - this is def a win.

When one of their professors refuses to pay up, they decide to steal some expensive artwork from his house. Too bad for them, Charlotte is there to ruin their fun. See - Charlotte needs the money herself to ..... wait for it..... rescue her stupid as fuck brother who's being held for ransom.
So stuff happens and Char moves in with our boys and lots of sex happens. Eventually the art is taken and sold and the brother is rescued and HEA.
The things that irritated me was that when the brother was rescued, it was just a blip and he totally disappeared from the book. What a waste! Then there was a dirty cop and it as supposed to seem like he was a big threat - again - he just disappeared.
Best thing about the book, besides the hot sex, is how everyone just owned up to how things were. There was none of the awkward guilt or embarrassment that usually comes from sex sharing.
There is no M/M action - unfortunately.
If you're looking for good sex without too much plot - this is def a win.

Whelp - I asked for a smutty read, and of course Mysti delivered. This wasn't gripping, this wasn't compelling, and this didn't even really have a plot twist unless you consider someone finding out their long-distance GF was cheating a plot twist (spoiler alert: EVERYONE saw it coming a mile away). What this is plane and simple is smut. Oh, and is it yummy. She wrote every character's scene just to perfection. Each MMC had their own "thing" and, each "thing" was freaking delicious. I love that it's straightforward: no 3rd act breakup, no miscommunication, a little bullying, but so they can have hate sex, and just... lots of smut.
There really isn't much more to say about this. It's a fantastic palate cleanser if you're coming off of a YA-ish, slow-burn, angsty book. Just be prepared to need to make some *ahem* wardrobe changes if ya catch my drift *fans self* 😏🥴😏🥴😏 oh, and I'm 100% team Rowan. So hands off lol

I think it is important to start off by saying that I'm a monogamous bitch who loathes why choose/reverse harem books. They give too much anxiety. I always feel torn between which MMC to choose. But I also feel like there is always one MMC who is the front runner and there is always one I feel like is being left out. And it's just too much for me to handle. Like just give one fictional man to fall in love with. When I have too many options I internally struggle. But this book... THIS BOOK. I straight devoured! And I can confidently say, I LOVE EVERY SINGLE MAN in this book! I love them all for different reasons and I can't choose which one I love more.
After reading Lords of Misrule, I now identify as Charlotte. She's the real MVP of this book. She's strong, feisty and has no problem being the Duchess of three insanely hot hockey players. Finn, he's tall, muscular and full of muscles. Looks like he could kill you but is an actual cinnamon roll. I felt like these two had a true genuine relationship. Finn had NO problem expressing his feelings for Charlotte from the beginning. And my sweet baby boy Hudson. He is such a cinnamon roll. At first he was left out and I felt so bad for him. He just wanted to be included and loved and in the end, he truly is such a sweetheart. Like all three of these men are so different and combined they create the PERFECT man and Charlotte is one lucky girl to have all three!
I think what made me love and devour this book so much is the fact that I loved both the plot and the spice. The plot was plotting. I loved how the book started. I hooked me in immediately. BUT the spice... the spice be spicing! Holy moly is this one spicy. Every chapter had me sweating. Knees were weak. I was a damn puddle. Put a fork in me I'm cooked.
So listen, if you are looking for more smut then plot holiday themed quick read that will have you panting, this is the book for you! If you are not a why choose/RH girly, I say give this one a shot because I loved it!

Rowan, Finn, and Hudson are thick as thieves.
Which makes sense since they are currently trying to pull an art heist in lieu of waiting for a professor to pay up his outstanding debt. During the act, Charolette walks in and flips their entire world on its axis. Charolette, who has cozied up to the professor, is fully aware of their worth and has had her eyes on the same paintings to settle someone's debt for them. The four end up hatching a plan to steal the paintings together and split the money 4 ways. What they don't plan for is Charolette falling for all of them.
This book was actually fun. I liked the whole art heist plot and reallilly enjoyed the development of their relationships. You could really feel how different her relationships were with Rowan, Finn, and Hudson and how each of them fulfilled something that the other didn't. I really liked the ending and the gift that Rowan gives Charolette has undertones that go way deeper than anything that's been said between them and I swooned so hard

Lords of Misrule is not your typical Hockey book. Maggie took morally grey to the next level (especially with Rowan) and gave us a much darker world than I was used to from her! This book drags you in from the start. 3 masked men meet one badass girl and go head to head with her.
When they realise they can benefit from working together we get a whole load of forced proximity.. and they def benefit. Multiple times. And its hot!!
Im really hoping Maggie gives us more from this world because this just wasnt enough! The ending to this left me wanting more.
I loved that each guy had his own personality and they were easy to tell the difference between. Finn was our sweet boy until he was in the bedroom. Rowan was the bad guy.. Simply put, this is a fantastic why choose book about a heist. Intrigued? You should be! It really has everything you could want in a standalone MFMM! It’s even set at Christmas time so just in time to add to your Christmas TBR. I read it in a day and I’m excited about seeing what is next in this world.

Charolette comes face to face with three intruders when she is staying at her “boyfriends” place who also happens to be the professor for one of her classes. The three guys are tying to take something but she turns the tables on him and steals Rowan’s gun and makes them leave! When that happens we know right away that she is a bad ass and is trying to do something but not sure what yet! After knowing that they all need to work together for the final plans to work, charolette moves in with the guys and gets to know them a little better and how they are going to move ahead with their plans! I don’t want to give anything away…. But it was so good
I can tot tell you how much i loved this book!!! Loved the characters and how they all interact with eachother they backgrounds and how they fit together and work in a relationship. I love the author and a I love a good why choose so I knew this was going to be a hit for me!
We have a strong independent FMC, Charlotte, who was not willing to take any shizz from anyone, especially one of our guys! From the very first interaction they all had I knew I was going to love her and I swear I just kept falling the more I read!
We have three hockey hotties, Rowan, Finn, and Hudson! They are all very different but I honestly loved them all in different ways! There is a tie between Rowan and Finn for who was my favorite! There is just something about the MMC being a complete jackbutt the whole time that honestly makes me swoon! 😂
Overall, I loved it! It’s a shorter read but packed a punch! A very spicy punch and I was here for all the dirty talk and watching scenes! My inner voyeur was preening! 😮💨
If you haven’t read from this author before and enjoy a spicy why choose then I definitely recommend this book! You get a bit of Xmas spirit thrown in as well which is perfect for the holiday season!!

If Maggie writes it…I am going to read it. I was so excited to hear that Maggie was going to write about hockey and this one did not disappoint. I ate this up and couldn’t put it down.
This story follows Charlotte, Rowan, Finn, and Hudson. Charlotte is a girl down on her luck that is wrapped up in her brother’s drama. Rowan, Finn, and Hudson are best friends, teammates, roommates who tend to dabble in some illegal activities when it comes to their hockey team.
The four meet when the guys are caught stealing a painting from one of their professors that owes them money. After Rowan figures out where Charlotte lives and forces her to move in with the three of them, lines begin to get blurred in more ways than one.
OMG!! These men…I love all 3 of them for different reasons. They each have such distinctive qualities that set them apart but they all meshed together. Rowan with his commanding possessiveness, Finn’s golden retriever vibes and Hudson is a sweet cinnamon roll. They all become so protective over Charlotte and I just cannot get enough of this. Their chemistry was off the charts.
THE SPICE IN THIS!!! PHEW…Maggie brought a whole new level with this one. Her spice is some of the best but man this one…WOW. Maggie's writing is always so unique and cleverly crafted. It was like a super spicy, dark Christmas story and I need more.

Our FMC is Charlotte. Her younger brother has gotten himself in trouble, and she has a plan to get him out of it. Problem is, three guys from her school have the same plan for earning quick cash, but they quickly realize that teaming up may be the only way to accomplish it. And btw, all three want her for a whole lot more.
First up, Rowan. He’s the alphahole. He’s possessive and commanding, and it’s freaking hot.
Next up, Finn - my personal favorite. He’s like a secret golden retriever who will f someone up when it needs to happen. The connection between him and Charlotte was my favorite of the group as well.
