*This book is part of a series and ends on a cliffhanger*
I'm not going to read the second book, I'll start by saying that. I just have no desire to know where the story goes as it's already so incredibly ridiculous. Our MMC is assaulting people in public .... in front of crowds - and just walking away from it without repercussion. Our FMC has a head full of rocks - honestly .... she can't figure out who is stalking her? Never mind that the MMC shows up everywhere she is ... never mind that the MMC assaults others who touch her and tells her over and over he'll kill anyone that does because she is his. (Spoiler alert, he does kill men who are interested in her) Never mind the FMC concluding she has a stalker and her only evidence is that he's leaving a pearl from her necklace on her bed side table each night. So....then that means she's sleeping just fine .... every night ... knowing someone is breaking into her home to leave said pearl? We live in an age of wireless camera's .... come on now, she isn't even trying to figure it out? She's to the point of fearing for others, yet she hasn't gone to the police? It makes ZERO sense. She is so unbearably dense that it was unbelievable to see her as a capable adult in any capacity. I just started skimming pages until I finished - and the only reason it's a two star is because I did, in fact, finish it.
Don't waste your time with this one - if you want a good stalker romance; try The Pucking Wrong Number or The Pucking Wrong Guy by CR Jane. Haunting Adeline if you want a dark stalker romance. Everything for Her if you want a billionaire stalking romance. I could go on and on - there are so many better options for stalker romance....

I feel like I'm being harsh but I love my psychopathic stalkers with a bit more subtlety? A bit more of an ability to not use brute force when manipulation is the way to go. Hayden, bless his heart, he was just a big dumb-dumb. He rolled up his sleeves and used his knuckles at every corner, stop sign and road marker. My guy was punching people in the middle of breakfast at the local diner? I'm blind when it comes to plot holes but come on now.

Bruh, this was like insulting to women and men.
The plot was just okay. The cliffhanger made me upset bc this shouldn’t be a two part series lol
The MFC was embarrassing to women lol she was written like she was an air head and had no critical thinking skills.
The MMC was over-masculine and it was like a play on stigma of how tough men act. He was no Zade Meadows - he was certifiable and assaulting multiple people in public with witnesses.
I can’t believe I finished this - but it was only 290 pages.

This book was wrong on so many levels.
I mean, I knew I was getting myself into some sort of stalker-ish romance, but what was THAT???
She literally fell in love with this dude after talking with him for what- two weeks? She even admitted that she was “falling for him” right after they had s for the first time… uhmmmm chile anyways sooooo
On top of that, how was miss girl able to sleep peacefully knowing that a f*cking STALKER comes into her house at night? And why doesn’t she own a phone? Girl, we are living in the 21st century if you haven’t figured that out yet. Oh, and just in case you forgot: there is also something called ✨police station✨ where you can go to in case of an emergency like STALKING…
Maybe I am going to read the rest, just to see how Mr. Bennet is going to excuse his weird- ass bevahior. Didn’t he also kill her dad??? How will she forgive him for that?!?!?

This was the Wish version of Haunting Adeline.
I don’t even know where to start with this. So I’ll start with the only good thing about it - this was a very MILD dark romance. & there was consent before they had sex, which was a nice change of pace compared to other very intense dark romances.
Other than someone looking for a super mild version of this genre, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Like I said in the first line, the author obviously took all inspiration from Haunting Adeline when she wrote this book. The stalking, the ‘I’ll kill anyone who touches you’ vibe, the leaving pearls at her bedside (like roses), the side character being the “only guy he trusts” that he can call for help when he needs it (like Jay), her having only 1 girl best friend (like Daya) and lastly the line where it LITERALLY mentions cat & mouse and MMC changes it to her being “little bird” instead... Lol I MEAN COME ON.
I don’t get how a lawyer has all these skills to back up him killing people and getting away with it. The plot was so lazily written. This is by far the worst writing I have ever read in a book. The first 50 pages felt like it was trying to be poetry?? and then after that it was just like she was trying way too hard to sound smart… it truly felt like a middle schooler / early high schooler wrote this. There was no depth to anything. It was so rushed through. I didn’t connect with any characters. It ended on a cliff hanger (also like haunting Adeline lol) but I won’t be reading the second in the series or anything else from this author. 👎

Dark romance here we go💕💁 I love reading dark romance but not too dark and too fvcked up if you know what i mean guys😂😂😉👀👀 Like a medium dark or a small dark romance🤣 Not more than that😭😄😄 Anyway, this author omg last time i read her books is from years ago. Like a long time ago… So when I saw this i was like is this for real? But I’m glad the author did write this book after years later and it such a great book for me❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE STALKER romance!!! especially the safe ones! Not the fvcked up ones🤣 When i was reading this i was like “don’t want it to be over” 🥺🥺🥺
IN THE BEGINNING IT START WITH THE HERO’S POV AND HIS POV IS KIND OF DARK THOUGHTS SO PREPARE YOURSELF 🤭 But even though it’s a dark thoughts, it’s actually kind of hot in my opinion….

In the beginning the hero admits that he killed someone who currently he was attending the funeral of, who he thought at that time was a very bad guy, who is actually the heroine’s dad… Later we found out that the hero met the heroine during the trial against her dad and the hero is a lawyer. He was soon captivated by the heroine… The heroine didn’t flirt with him or do any those stuff, the heroine was being herself. SO THE HERO FALL FIRST AND HE FALL SO HARD FOR HER YOU HAVE NO IDEA… Okay back to the funeral. Later the hero after the funeral, he begins to stalk the heroine almost every single day. At first he was doing it to make her safe but deep down he knows he was doing it because HE WAS SO OBSESSED WITH HER🥵❤️ SHE WAS CONSUMING HIS THOUGHTS every single day and he can’t stop thinking about her…. he tried to be busy at work but his mind always running towards the heroine… Every guy the heroine talked to, every place the heroine goes to work, the hero always follows her and asked the guys what are you talking about with the heroine🥺🥺 And if the guys didn’t say anything or not being honest with him, he hurt them so bad🤣🤣 After a week of stalking her, he finally showed himself to the heroine at her work place. On first day he showed up, he defended the heroine immediately when someone tries to be rude… And after a week later, he installed cameras to the heroine’s apartment and goes at night to her apartment to watched her… And since the day he showed up at her work, she also can’t stop thinking about him and they begin something… YES IT’S A SLOW BURN BUT TRUST ME THE SLOW BURN IT’S NOT ANNOYING AND NOT BAD….

If the book it’s too dark for you and too much, do not proceed… If you read the book from kylie kent “Certifiable Attraction” the hero there is very much like that too in this book.

In the beginning the hero admits that he killed someone who currently he was attending the funeral of, who he thought at that time was a very bad guy, who is actually the heroine’s dad… Later we found out that the hero met the heroine during the trial against her dad and the hero is a lawyer. He was soon captivated by the heroine… The heroine didn’t flirt with him or do any those stuff, the heroine was being herself. SO THE HERO FALL FIRST AND HE FALL SO HARD FOR HER YOU HAVE NO IDEA… Okay back to the funeral. Later the hero after the funeral, he begins to stalk the heroine almost every single day. At first he was doing it to make her safe but deep down he knows he was doing it because HE WAS SO OBSESSED WITH HER🥵❤️ SHE WAS CONSUMING HIS THOUGHTS every single day and he can’t stop thinking about her…. he tried to be busy at work but his mind always running towards the heroine… Every guy the heroine talked to, every place the heroine goes to work, the hero always follows her and asked the guys what are you talking about with the heroine🥺🥺 And if the guys didn’t say anything or not being honest with him, he hurt them so bad🤣🤣 After a week of stalking her, he finally showed himself to the heroine at her work place. On first day he showed up, he defended the heroine immediately when someone tries to be rude… And after a week later, he installed cameras to the heroine’s apartment and goes at night to her apartment to watched her… And since the day he showed up at her work, she also can’t stop thinking about him and they begin something… YES IT’S A SLOW BURN BUT TRUST ME THE SLOW BURN IT’S NOT ANNOYING AND NOT BAD….

Omg I loved this way more than I thought I would! This ticks so many boxes for a dark romance!
Hayden Bennett is a top attorney who was the prosecutor on Callie’s Dads case. He also murdered Callie’s father unbeknownst to her, but he now thinks her father could’ve been innocent. Through being connected to the case he becomes obsessed with Callie and that then develops into feelings for her. He’s extremely morally grey, posssive and complete touch her and 💀 vibes. He literally pinned a man’s hand to a bar and set fire to him & the building for wanting to sleep with Callie 😭😭😭 he’s unhinged and I ATE IT UP 🤣
I mean Hayden is such a red flag with lots trauma, and Calista is completely trauma bonding and needs someone after loosing her dad and having no one so bother of their decisions are extremely questionable, but hey… it’s a dark romance 🤷🏽♀️😂
There’s also an ongoing mystery surrounding Callie and what happened to her too which I’m intrigued to see how this all fits in to what we’ve discovered so far. I’ve really enjoyed this, going straight onto book 2!

I mean Hayden is such a red flag with lots trauma, and Calista is completely trauma bonding and needs someone after loosing her dad and having no one so bother of their decisions are extremely questionable, but hey… it’s a dark romance 🤷🏽♀️😂
There’s also an ongoing mystery surrounding Callie and what happened to her too which I’m intrigued to see how this all fits in to what we’ve discovered so far. I’ve really enjoyed this, going straight onto book 2!

This duology started off decent, classic stalker romance with a lot of tension and seemingly interesting backstory plot.
However, it turned into me being the third party in a highly dysfunctional relationship who treats sex as the solution to all their issues, when their actual issues lies in trust and communication.
They run hotter and colder than katy perry in the most annoying way you can imagine.
I know I’ve said I do like my obsessed psychopaths(in fiction only), but seems Hayden Bennett is the exception to the rule.

I‘m sorry. I tried to read it but this book didn‘t pull me in AT ALL.
It felt so juvenile, so teenager-Wattpad-fanfiction. I honestly expected Bennett to look like [insert ex One Direction/any K-Pop group member].
My biggest issue though was with the reality check. I‘m sorry but the daughter of a high-profile politician is not very likely to need to be working a shitty job because she can‘t get her cents together. Like what?! Who the hell thought that was realistic in ANY multiverse??
A senator‘s daughter WILL have the necessary kind of daddy‘s money to not be needing to do that. She WILL have the kind of connections to snatch up a high class job. But beeing so poor - bordering on homelessness - that you need to work a shitty barkeeper job at the next best Hooters for Sons of Anarchy gangsters? Nah, not very fucking believable.
And where the hell is her mom at? Because I think I missed the memo of what happened to her mom.
So yeah … I really AM digging dark romance novels and I will overlook some extent of absent logic (hi, H.D. Carlton) but this one just didn‘t do it for me.

It didn’t really give “stalker”. Like he took her necklace and left pieces for her but that’s it. I feel like that’s just creepy, but she claims he tormented her…? Daddy Zade would wipe the floor with Hayden let me tell you. Anyways I’m a big fan of how psychotic Hayden is. It’s so funny. He’s so intense and for what? There is also a lot of overlap in this book. He was the prosecuting attorney on her father’s case, then proceeded to murder him (even tho he may be innocent?) and now there’s a tie with the FMC, his dead mom, and HER dead dad’s dead sexretary (not a typo: she was pregnant with his baby lol). Hopefully this review confused you

This was so close to being a 2.5 or 3-star rating for me, because the stalker trope is one of my weaknesses...
I was even willing to overlook the annoying best friend of the FMC, who is a total caricature btw. Her life literally revolves around the FMC's sex life for some reason, and every word out of her mouth is a try-hard sexual innuendo...
Like, this is not funny or quirky. Her character just comes off as unnatural at best and annoying at worst, and my eyes are constantly rolling to the back of my head whenever she's in a scene...
But the final straw was that scene with the FMC and MMC.
The MMC finds out the FMC may have been assaulted...
Then the FMC, for some reason, questions her desirability to the MMC...?

Stalker Romance. His & Her POVs. I would say this is a wholesome dark romance. Broody possessive MMC. The FMC is lovable & smart. The banter was so good! I liked this one a lot! It was a total vibe! I would say mildly spicy!

So, I had to sit on this one for a minute because the first 70 pages? I was really into it. Like, fully invested. But somewhere in the middle and definitely toward the end, it started to lose me.
Let me start by saying: I totally get why people could like this book. I really do. But I’ve read a lot of dark romance, and this one just… kind of felt mid.
I love the concept, and I love a good stalker romance, but the MMC didn’t come across as unhinged or possessive in that way I love. He just felt like a pompous, controlling asshole. My biggest ick in an MMC is when they talk down to the FMC in that condescending “I know better” way. And the whole “language” every time she cursed? Had me wanting to punch a wall. Just not my vibe. Like that’s a grown ass woman if she wants to say the word fuck mind your damn business…
Now, to be fair, there were things I did like. It’s an easy, quick, bingeable read with all the right ingredients to be great it just missed the mark a little. I loved her best friend, she brought the kind of fun, chaotic energy I live for. The plot with her father and the murder was actually interesting, and I thought it was a clever twist that the MMC was the lawyer on her father’s case. Plus, some of the spicy scenes? Pretty damn hot. There were also tons of little micro-tropes I love (like him taking care of himself while thinking of her chef’s kiss), and the whole pearl necklace moment was a nice touch.
Overall, I’ll definitely read the second book because I want to see how the story wraps up, and I liked it enough to continue but it’s not one of those “oh my God, I need book two right now” situations.

I’ve honestly been sitting on this review. First off it was a. I made it 160 pages out of 300 so I felt like I could at least give an opinion.
1. If you are going to sell this as a stalker romance there needs to be STALKING. We got the bare minimum of stalking and it was subpar at best.
2. The romance progression of this book DID NOT make sense. She maybe had 3 encounters with this guy and the first time he’s vulnerable which was (their third time) meeting she says “ I didn’t think he was capable of such emotions” like girl bffr, you DONT KNOW HIM LOL so you’re googly eyes for someone you’ve barely met isn’t making sense.
3. the stalking that does happen, the FMC is acting clueless like she has no idea but it’s painfully obvious.
I feel like i’ve seen this book get super positive reviews and I just didn’t get the hype.
Anyways there was a lot of issues with this book.

The writing on this was pretty good, but the characters and the plot…oof. I made a remark not long ago that often in dark romances the FMCs are somehow so dumb. Callie is no exception to this. All of the evidence was staring her straight in the face and she was somehow still unsure who was stalking her. Like girl be so for real. Hayden was just…meh. There was really no build up to his obsession which is unfortunate, because I enjoy watching the MMC’s slowly become more and more unhinged.
I’m going to read the second one, and I hope that it’s paced better. Maybe Callie will actually grow a backbone. Idk. Also, if her dad was a wealthy senator how does she have absolutely no money?? It never got explained how she went from living in a home with workers and all kinds of money, and now she’s working at a coffee shop scraping pennies. There’s no backstory or buildup. Why didn’t things start at the trial and progress from there? I have so many questions. Anyway…yea. Let me see what book two is about I guess.

The interest he had in her never waned; instead, it only got worse as time passed. Up to the point where he started stalking her and invading her privacy.
I honestly enjoyed the first book, and I almost gave it a 5 ⭐. In the first book, Callie had a backbone and always stood her ground around Hayden. She never let him bulldoze his way into her life. I really expected her to remain like this all throughout this duet, but disappointingly, she didn't. In the second book, she became this weak heroine who let Hayden control and dictate her life. The 180 of her character gave me a whiplash. I mean, where was the strong girl from book 1? The one who didn't take shit from anyone? The body-betraying crap prevails, and she completely loses her common sense. Like her best friend said, “You’re going to take one look at his baby blues, or his dick, and become a puddle on the ground.”. I was so frustrated that she became a different person in the second book, because her strong personality is one of the things I truly loved about her.
As for Hayden, I liked his OTT obsessive and possessive nature when it comes to Callie. Like he's all "mine, mine, mine" all the time, and he's 100% certifiable for her. His behavior was still likeable to me in the first book. I enjoyed him getting territorial over her and being unhinged when any man tries to flirt with Callie. He literally embodies the "touch her and you die" vibe, he has no qualms killing these guys. But in the second book, he became so maddening. He took away her freedom and choices; it has become all about what he wants, and Callie has to follow everything he says. He never gave a crap about her feelings; it's his way or the highway, and he always gets what he wants. He went from likeable to detestable in a flash, at least to me.
Things he did that didn't fly with me:
— He killed Callie's father, and the man was innocent.
— He stalked her.
— He breaks into her apartment every night, giving her anxiety and removing her sense of security.
— He manipulated everything so that she'd move in with him.
— He instructed the OBGYN not to give Callie a depo shot, even though she was adamant about being in birth control. He purposely impregnates her to tie her to him.
— He tattooed his surname on her hip when she was unconscious.
— He became a dictator in the second book, and I'm not having any of it.
Lying is one of the things I hate in romance fiction, and Hayden did this for the majority of the story. He knew Callie would be hurt if he told her the truth, so he decided not to tell her anything. But secrets won't stay buried forever, and when he was forced to tell her all the things he did, he was not even sorry or remorseful about them. Maybe if he did show some guilt, I could let it pass, but he didn't, and that annoyed me more than ever.
There's a two-month breakup in book 2, when Callie runs away after finding out that Hayden is her dad's killer. But she loves him and is willing to get over that fact. She eventually talked to him, and they got back together. The ending is HFN (engaged and pregnant), and there's an extended epilogue two years later.
Overall, I didn't know how to feel about the story. I liked the first part of this duet, but the second was a letdown. But if readers want an unhinged, obsessed, and possessive MMC they should go read this. Hayden's craziness knows no bounds, and I'm sure some will love and swoon over him and the things he did for Callie.
