This book was epic! I loved how the ancient cat Rock was telling the kits, Mosskit, Blossumkit, and Adderkit, about the cats in Starclan, or where the cat's good ancestors go when they die. The pictures were beautiful! Who wants to see them? Ok, here they are in order.

God, I love the Warriors series.

If you haven't read the whole series (like, the entire Warriors arc, not just the first six books), then maybe skip this book as there are a few spoilers.

Before Cats of the Clans, my last Warriors book was read two years ago. Two freaking years ago!

But I'm planning on re-reading the entire series, so I figure this would be a great refresher.

And it was a great refresher. I felt a great sense of nostalgia while reading this. I was reunited with all my favorite characters, like Firestar and Graystripe and Bluestar and Yellowfang. Also some of the newer characters, like Brambleclaw and Leafpool and Jaypaw.

No one in the Omen of Stars sub-series is in here (like Dovewing or Ivypool), but I'm pretty sure there's a newer Warriors encyclopedia that has them in it.

I am so grateful for the illustrations. I have a hard time picturing animals so this was extremely helpful. Now I know what the main characters look like.

Overall, Cats of the Clans is a great read for Warriors fanboys and fangirls.

I wouldn't recommend it for people new to the series, as there are some spoilers. If you want to start the Warriors series, here is the complete list of the MAIN books (and it's a LOOOONG list so feel free to only read the first six books. Also, I did not include the Dawn of the Clans books or the Super Edition novels because they can be read independent of the main Warriors Arc)

Warriors: Into the Wild
Warriors: Fire and Ice
Warriors: Forest of Secrets
Warriors: Rising Storm
Warriors: A Dangerous Path
Warriors: The Darkest Hour

Warriors New Prophecy: Midnight
Warriors New Prophecy: Moonrise
Warriors New Prophecy: Dawn
Warriors New Prophecy: Starlight
Warriors New Prophecy: Twilight
Warriors New Prophecy: Sunset

Warriors Power of Three: The Sight
Warriors Power of Three: Dark River
Warriors Power of Three: Outcast
Warriors Power of Three: Eclipse
Warriors Power of Three: Long Shadows
Warriors Power of Three: Sunrise

Warriors Omen of the Stars: The Fourth Apprentice
Warriors Omen of the Stars: Fading Echoes
Warriors Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers
Warriors Omen of the Stars: Sign of the Moon
Warriors Omen of the Stars: The Forgotten Warrior
Warriors Omen of the Stars: The Last Hope

Characters - 5/5 - Well, as the whole book is based around characters with such detail and depth, how can I not love them? Seriously, I've always loved the cats and this book really highlighted for me how incredible they are. There's definitely a lot of depth and stories into each one!

Content - 5/5 - Excellent; a really thought-out field guide that I enjoyed reading. I thought the information given was informative, but concise and compact at the same time - nothing dragged on or felt like too much.

Writing - 4.5/5 - Very interesting and different style to usual due to the different perspective, though I do probably prefer the writing in the series books. I just find in those there's a bit more description, including great adjectives. Though I loved the writing style nevertheless!!

Drawing - 5/5 - Superb! I mean, the artist is just phenomenal! The pictures we see are of such a great quality and really show great interpretation by the artist. I loved looking at them; it definitely helps you picture the cats clearer when there's so many to keep track of!

Enjoyment - 4.5/5 - A lovely read and again, like with the writing, I prefer the series books, though this is a very good compliment to those nevertheless. I think the pictures really add to it, too!

Overall - 4.8/5 - A definite recommendation to any Warriors fan!!

I really liked this book! It is another "encyclopedia" like Secrets of the Clans. It is told from the point of view of 3 kits listening to stories by an ancient cat in StarClan (place cats go when they die). Each page features a cat's story (usually a leader or other important cat in the books), and then a full color picture on the opposite page. i also liked this book becaus eit helped me catch up on the series (hadn't read the original books since 4th grade).

This book was quite interesting. I liked how there were nice big pictures of the cats that were being described (except for Cloudtail and Brook, who were not pictured when they were being talked about.) I learned a few things about the cats that I had either previously not known, or had forgotten. One example was that Barley used to be a part of BloodClan.

The claws are out. Screeching sounds are heard. Cats are constantly in battle until their death occurs. In Warriors: Cats Of The Clans, all cats were strong, and the cats have conflict throughout the whole story.
The readers of the book will find out how these cats are clans. In this story survival is a challenge. This is shown as the cats battle for new territory . They have the right to battle or withdraw if their leader chooses. They have the right to battle for survival. They also (the cat clans) have names for their territories, and the cat clans have very strong leaders. Also in this story it includes that the cat leaders are strong. This story tells that the males and females who are leaders gather up the clan for battle or having kittens.Almost all characters in this story are strong cats, as known as the main characters.Brightheart is brave. She hardly gets scared when a newcomer or kit shrieks at the sight of her scar(s).
Conflict is a big part of the story. The cats are constantly fighting over and over again. They have the right to battle, fight to their death, or not fight at all and be just fine. As they are constantly battling the more injuries and deaths risk goes higher. They want to be strong because if they were weak they would lose every member after another, and also wouldn't exist any more. This book will encourage people to read this beginning series, and be excited for what is to come.
This story has good characterization and conflict. In this book all the characters in this story are main characters. After this book was finished, people should consider reading this series. They should read this series because it will make the person want to read more.Loving this book will make the readers want to read more.

4 stars- Dutch paperback- English hardcover

We bought this book to add to our collection of Warriors books. The addic-club loves them.
The book Is filled with full colored pics of the Cats of the Clans. We were a tiny bit disappointed that the pictures of many of the Warriors were duplicates of the pictures from Warriors: The Ultimate Guide. There were, however, a few new pictures of cats not featured in the Ultimate Guide included in this book. If you love Warriors, you’ll love this book! It brings the world of the worrior cats so mutch more alive! Love it. Love it.

I like this book because it has a very weird picture of a very very very very very cool cat named Brightheart. She also had a eye swollen out from where it was supposed to be. It was very scary when I first saw it, but then it wasn’t. I like this book very much because it was about a cat and that cat is the cat I like and the cat that I just got to tell you about.

So now comes a story about that cat. You know, her mother was named Frostfur. This is how Brightheart lost her eye. She wanted to be a warrior so she went out and she fought a pack of dogs and then she lost her eye.

Having read the novels it was really fun to see pictures of the cats—and the pictures were beautifully illustrated! I was bummed that there was no picture of Cloudtail, though. I wasn’t as wild about the written bits—it was done cleverly enough but having read the books I didn’t really need them. It was just review of what I’d already read. I would have liked more illustrations and maybe a few family trees!

I wish that the descriptions were longer.i imagined it to be thick with all the characters that are somebodys.I think cloudtail, barkface, mudfur, morningflower should have been in there.Brightheart's picture is sad,but VERY genuine to what the book said...I spent hours OCD-ing over tallstar's pic 'cuz he is my fav. character.tigerstar looked a mess.jus totally AWFUL.:-(.but thumbs up to the artist.

This book is told from the perspective from 3 kittens that listens to an ancient cat in StarClan, the place cats go to when they perish and die. In this novel, I got to know the characters a little bit more and their inner self. although, i wished that it would focus on one cat at a time, to make the storyline and dialogue less confusing. otherwise, everything else was good. and the pictures were very vivid and were related to the story.

All 6 clans of the cats wanted to live peacefully in the forest without getting into war against one another. But these clans are always fighting for new additions to their clans. So one day a clan tried to sneak into another clans territory to steal their new cats, which ended up in a fight. Will these cats ever stop fighting? Warriors Battles of the Clans is about Bravery, Hardworking and Intelligence.

Just like the first guidebook before it, this was very good. This one focuses on all the important cats in the books. It reveals more details about them that weren’t talked about in the books, but there are also lots of spoilers if you haven’t read all the Warriors books first. The artwork throughout the book is also very nice.

I can't say that this story offers anything new, especially after reading Secrets of the Clans. Many of the characters overlap.

Each summary is only two pages at most. Despite the short word count they still manage to focus on the wrong characters; I was dishearted to see that Lightheart's paragraphs were about Cloudtail instead.
The full color art however is definitely worth looking it.

This book is really good if you love backstories. It tells the backstories of all the cats that are important to the series! Even ones that aren't even cats, like Midnight and..... Rock? I guess.
