I love this series and have been so anxious to read the mysterious Irishman’s story and Aiden’s tale didn’t disappoint.

One thing I love about the Denver Dragons is the feeling of family and community, but I also love how each story showcases a unique angle to the hockey world. For any mascot fan, this one is a must read and I loved the stunning tricks and dangerous antics that brought so much excitement to the playoffs.

Aiden and Finchley have a tragic past and I was laughing at their “reunion” in this book. They have the most instantaneous and undeniable connection and I couldn’t get enough of it. Standing up for oneself, finding inner strength and peace, discovering love and a found family are some of the beautiful themes that live within these pages. With a slight perilous mystery, this story found a unique place as the end to the series and I loved seeing all the beloved characters together.

This is such a solid finisher and I couldn’t feel more satisfied.

I have been looking forward to Aiden's story and it did not disappoint. I have truly loved this entire series and how the authors carried the characters throughout the books so well.

This story progressed so well and I love how the friendships grew so quickly. I loved seeing Finchley's friendships with the girls unfold and how she settled in in a way she couldn't have before because of people in her past. I also love how Aiden was so drawn to her before he realized who she was and how even with their past, they were able to handle it like adults and really see each other's side. Aiden and Finchley were super cute and I loved seeing their memories from their past were never forgotten.

This one had a couple emotional and shocking chapters but the Denver Dragon and extended "family" were always there for the struggles. I love what a family the community was and have the characters throughout the series have had such a huge role in all the books. This made for such a tight knit group for this last book.

And that ending! I loooooved how the series came to a conclusion. What a perfect way to end the series.

Have you been reading the Denver Dragons series? And if so, have you been as interested in Aiden's past as I have been? If so, then you want to read this book. It's so sweet, with a few unexpected turns, and I just was entranced by it. That's a good word, yeah? Entranced? Accurate.

This is one of those books that I slowed down to finish. I just didn't want it to end. Not only because the book is that good, but because this is the end of the series. Don't get me wrong; it ended perfectly, and I have a beautiful picture of what their lives look like. But it's always so hard to say goodbye, you know?

Lucky Left Wing is the sixth and final book in the multiauthor series, Dating a Denver Dragon. It can be read as a standalone novel. However, it is fun to see all the Denver Dragon characters, especially in the epilogue, ten years later.

This interaction will be the foundation for every future one between us, and if it goes wrong, I can't imagine how we'll work together let alone anything more.

I have been curious about Aiden's story since the beginning of the series. It was well worth the wait. In this story, we see why Aiden is the way he is and why he hasn't dated for the entire series.

Acting like a gorilla won't help her right now.

Finchley is hiding out. She doesn't want anyone on the Dragons team to know who she is, as it puts her in danger. However, some secrets are too big to keep, and unfortunately, what she thinks she has put behind her comes knocking at her door.

Come for the Irishman's story, stay for the sweet second chance romance, and let the epilogue wrap you in a cocoon of happiness as you see the Denver Dragons years down the road.

Ten years ago, Aiden left Finchley at the altar. He never called or contacted her, leaving her to wonder why he would just leave and break her heart.

Now she works as the mascot for the hockey team he plays on. She tries to stay anonymous under that costume, hiding from Aiden, but also on the run from her abusive father and ex fiancé.

Aiden has never stopped loving Finchley, never dated anyone else because his heart completely belongs to her. When he discovers who the new mascot is and explains to her why he left the way he did, will she give him a second chance?

This Dating a Denver Dragon Series has been so much fun, and this concluding book is a perfect way to wrap things up. I loved it!

Aiden Doyle has been a wonderful character in the previous books, and I was so glad to see him get his HEA. The relationship and chemistry between he and Finley was fabulous! I loved how they were able to openly communicate and work things out, and I adored how protective he was of her.

Lucky Left Wing is a sweet, funny, lovely hockey romance. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys closed door sports romance.

This wonderful series has come to an end and it’s so bittersweet!! I was so excited to finally read Aiden’s story and it was well worth the wait! I mean, who doesn’t love a sweet Irish hockey player?!

The one thing I have loved about this whole series is the friendships between all the characters! And it all rounded out with Aiden and Finchley’s story!

Finchley and Aiden’s second chance romance was one for the books! (Pun intended!) Aiden’s story has been a mystery throughout the whole series. He didn’t date and kept his past a secret from the other players. Turns out, his heart belonged to another, his sweet Finchley.

Their backstory was sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. So when Finchley re-entered Aiden’s life as the mystery mascot for the Dragons, things got really good. I loved how he was instantly drawn to her, yet didn’t know it was actually her, he just sensed something familiar.

I loved how the all the girls surrounded Finchley and made her feel welcome, especially after all the trauma in her personal life with her dad and ex.

Finchley and Aiden’s love story was beautiful and sweet! I loved how they stayed devoted to each other even when they were apart. Their love was true and never wavered. Aiden was determined to never lose Finchley again and when he stood up for her and protected her, I was done for! He was just precious!!! And the chemistry between these two!!! 🔥🔥🔥

Their happily ever after was well worth the wait and how it all tied up in the end with all the couples being together was epic!!! This series was so special and I’m so happy I was able to be a part of it!!!

This book brought all the emotions as this series comes to a close. All the emotions! I’ve enjoyed getting to know this team and who they chose to love and this continues their close knit relationships and pranks.

But let’s talk about Aiden. Smitten. From the very first book. Now he’s watched everyone else find happiness, but he can’t get over his past love that pretty much got ripped out of his hands. Hockey is his life now. And his team. And he’s ok playing dress up. Smitten folks.

Finchley joins the Dragons as their new mascot. Aiden comes back into her life and their past comes to light. Actually it becomes lit. And I’m the biggest second chance girl so I was fanning all the flames.

Plenty of heart and fun put a smile on my face, but it’s not a breezy book and talks of abuse. And an award goes to the worst dad ever. Like a gold medal. My goodness this couple deserved some happiness. And we get every swoony moment of it to the perfect ending.

I was very excited to see that Aiden would be getting his own story after having read his friend’s story in Double Duty Defense, and I loved every second of it reading it! I loved Aiden’s desire to protect Finchley, even at the cost of his own heart. I loved seeing what the two of them were like before they broke up as well as how they met/got together in the first place. I loved that Finchley was given the chance to create great and strong friendships with people after how her life worked out growing up in a toxic family environment. I also loved that the friend groups she ended up in stood up for her and protected her when she needed it, even though they barely knew each other at that point. I loved the focus brought to living with God and putting trust in Him, especially when we aren’t sure which way to turn when it comes to making a decision. I loved seeing more of the other Denver Dragons again, and I’m curious to find out if we might be getting more stories for any of them with Stevie & another Dragon’s interest in each other having been mentioned a few times.

Summary:

Finchley has the chance to create a life she wants to live and isn’t about to let anyone take that away from her. Even if that means keeping her true identity a secret from majority of her new coworkers and just being the new Denver Dragons’ mascot. With her new boss on her side, Finchley is determined to keep hold of her second chance, but finds herself hoping for a different second chance entirely. Aiden was the one she thought she’d marry, but he never came back. And now, he works for the same team that she does…

Aiden almost married his high school sweetheart, Finchley, but instead left her at the altar. It broke his heart to leave her, but at the time it was the only way he thought he could protect her. Since then, he hasn’t been able to move on and has gained a reputation amongst his teammates to not date, but also that he’s always ready for a good time in the form of dares and pranks. But the latest dare given might push a few boundaries Aiden shouldn’t cross. Finding out the identity of the new team mascot after having been told not to by their coach could get him fired. Besides the fact that the person behind the mask likely has a very good reason to want to hide. But when Aiden accidentally discovers the mascot’s identity, he is floored to find out it is none other than Finchley. And he isn’t about to leave her behind again…

A good end to the Denver dragons series. I love Aiden and I really liked flinchley, though their story wasn’t my fav.

They had a long past that ended in heartbreak due to miscommunication and her abusive family.

But some of the second chance stuff didn’t feel super believable. Maybe I’m just not a huge romantic but I found it a little strange that it had been 10yrs and Aiden didn’t even go on a few dates or try to want more for his life besides pining after a lost love.

I understand heartbreak and needing time but that’s a long time and he said at the beginning of the book he had decided to be alone for the rest of his life since losing flinchley.

I also don’t love how or why he left initially and that he didn’t reach out ever..over 10 yrs. Yet he claims this is the one and only love of his life.

I do know that families and significant others can be horrible and abusive but wasn’t sure if I was buying the lengths her dad went to manipulate her. But maybe I’m just naive.

I feel like Aiden and Flinchley fell back into their old relationship a little too fast. It went from surprise to hesitation to “it’s ok I understand” and then being together again too easily. She just let him talk and understood and forgave him on the spot. Then she never had any trust issues with him again, even though he had left her at the alter and hadn’t talked to her in 10 yrs!

I think it’s fine they still had feelings for each other and talked things through and got back together, but it just felt too easy. Also, people change in 10 years. But their relationship seemed to pick back up where it had left off even though they were in high school when they were together last. I think it should’ve been a little awkward and they would have to relearn each other a bit.

I also don’t understand why they were granted the chance at millions of dollars in 2 separate ways and then decided they couldn’t have any of it because jt makes people lose sight of reality. What about using it to buy a house and then donating the rest or setting it aside to help your family? I just thought that was a little crazy but I’ve also never been presented with that much money.

There were a few typos but nothing major that detracted from the story.

All in all, a good book, just not the best in the series.

what a finale!

Wow!!!!!!! Y’all this finale was soooo good!!

I loved seeing Dex’s return and how Cyrus got his life in order. I’m racking my brain because I’m trying to figure out if there’s a book for him somewhere or maybe it’s in the works. Anyway I was glad to see him return too!

I love it when there’s a big close family whether it’s found family or blood family! Especially in a sports series this was such a wholesome one that it’s easily my favorite! Combining hockey with faith just melts my little heart 🤭.

Protective mmc’s are my absolute fav! And double points for Aiden’s apology and explanation and not expecting Finchley to understand without the whole truth. It shows that guys can still be protective without acting like the female in need of protecting isn’t strong enough to know why. Obviously Finchley knew because she faced the evil of her father and Stephan but still it was a lovely example of a healthy relationship. Especially when she hadn’t had those in her life before. And also his willingness to do whatever it took to show her he was sorry with actions and not just words. They were all good books but Aiden just might be the top MMC favorite for this series. trust me there’s a list and they’re all favorites.

I also appreciated Finchley not holding what Aiden did over him and being willing to forgive but also voicing that she needed time to sort her feelings out. As well as Aiden giving her time! And her finally standing up for herself and not falling back into the same routine as before. As well as letting herself be protected. And I absolutely LOVED Aiden’s patience at the cabin (iykyk)!!! Y’all that was probably my favorite scene aside from the epilogue (and a few others of course lol)! Seriously it melted my heart and it was such a good scene!! An awesome example of a Godly man putting her first above his own wants or needs!!!! There is tons and tons more I would say but I’d spoil it and y’all need to read it!

I really wanted to love this book, I did. I’ve been a die-hard fan of the Denver Dragons series from the start—the mix of hockey, romance, and faith has always been so solid. But Lucky Left Wing? Eh, it just didn’t work for me. Aiden and Finchley’s second-chance romance had all the potential for greatness, but it fizzled out faster than a cup of lukewarm coffee.

Let me start with the good stuff: Aiden’s Irish charm? Yup, still love him. And Finchley? Girl’s been through a lot, and I wanted to cheer for her so badly. But the plot? It just didn’t feel believable. It’s like they brushed over the emotional baggage that should’ve been the core of the story. I mean, Finchley’s got this super intense past, and Aiden left her at the altar. That’s a BIG DEAL, right? You’d think there would be some serious tension or at least a decent amount of "how dare you" drama. But nope! Everything just felt… too easy. Like, who forgives that fast?

At first, I thought, “Okay, maybe this will grow on me.” Spoiler alert: It didn’t.

Also, where was the tension? The slow burn? I love a good build-up, but their reunion felt like it had the emotional depth of a kiddie pool. Aiden and Finchley just sort of slid right back into each other’s lives with barely any real struggle or growth. It all felt way too neat for the emotional wreckage they were supposedly dealing with.

On the plus side, I did enjoy revisiting the team and seeing all the beloved characters. That "found family" vibe was strong as ever, and the camaraderie was heartwarming-I'll give them that. But even those moments couldn’t save the overall flatness of the story for me.

So yeah, Lucky Left Wing didn’t hit the mark. I wanted fireworks, but I got sparklers. I’ll forever love the Denver Dragons, but Aiden and Finchley’s story just left me wanting more... and not in a good way.

A dramatic story to complete this great series. I really enjoyed this second chance hockey romance. Finchley took on the role of the Denver Dragons’ mascot, but was initially insistent on concealing her identity. Partly to hide from her controlling and abusive father and ex-fiancé, but also because her lost love, Aiden, played for the hockey team. When they inevitably came into contact it was apparent that their old feelings had not diminished. But neither had the threats to them being together. The characters in this series were so fun and it was great to see more of all of them as part of this story. The wonderful brotherhood of the team and the excellent camaraderie of the ladies. The main characters were engaging and it was interesting to see a bit more of jokester Aiden’s serious side and backstory. Finchley had a dramatic story and it drove much of the narrative. It was well-balanced with the romance and the team’s fight to win the championship, so the story wasn’t too heavy, even with the high stakes for her. The romance was sweet and lovely with past heartbreak to overcome. There was instant intensity because of their history. I appreciated that Finchley, aside from her need for actual safety, was quite driven towards honesty. It minimized misunderstanding. “It’s better to be honest up front than to lie.” There is a sweet epilogue to wrap-up the book and the series. There are light faith elements organically integrated in the story. This book includes elements of manipulation, life-threatening emotional and physical abuse, parental death, estrangement, and dangerous stunts. This is a closed door (in marriage) romance with brief mild innuendo and no harsh language.

You know when you get to the last book in a series, and you finally get to read about the character that you have been secretly hoping for all along…that’s definitely the case with this one!  The Denver Dragons series have spotlighted a lot of personalities, but this book features their very own leprechaun and the girl he never thought he would see ever again!

Aiden Doyle, left wing for the team and prankster extraordinaire gets his moment in center ice and I’m not complaining!  The man while mostly is all about fun has mostly kept his mouth shut about one part of his life, love!  He is extremely loyal and protective of anyone in his found family including the team’s new mascot, once he meets her anyways!  His teammates are his brothers, and they love him through it all too!

Finchley Bennett is the newest member to the Denver Dragon extended family by being transformed into Ruby the Dragon!  While this girl has her fair share of secrets, she can’t deny what her heart really wants and that’s to be loved!  She has never forgotten her first love, even if he left suddenly!  With a fresh start in Denver, she starts to allow herself to trust again and lets her newly found family in!

I love this book, despite the rough stuff that Finchley had to endure in her past!  Aiden has been a secret favorite of mine for a while now and I’m so glad we got to see all sides of him!  This pairing was more than a second chance for love, but also for trust and friendship!  This was a great way to conclude this multi-author series… and it was unveiled yesterday that M.J. Padgett wrote a novella for another Dragon, so I guess I know what one of my next reads will likely be!

Lucky Left Wing was a fantastic finish to the Dating a Denver Dragon series! I have loved each book in this series and am both happy and sad to know that I have now completed the entire series. I will miss these characters! These stories are ones I definitely plan to re-read.

This was a great second chance romance between two high school sweethearts who were planning to marry once upon a time. Glimpses of Aiden in earlier books in the series have made one thing clear. He doesn’t date. No one knows his backstory, but everything soon comes to light in this story when Finchley comes back into his orbit. These two were both very clearly still in love with each other, despite the heartbreak that had occurred ten years earlier.

I really appreciated the way these two characters sat down and talked through things. Aiden was able to tell Finchley what really happened in the past and even though it didn’t solve all of their problems instantly, it set them on a course to reconnecting. I really felt for Aiden and all of the guilt he still carried around and I admired Finchley’s response to learning the truth.

This story had so many great moments as well as some trying times that had me very concerned for Finchley’s safety. But the absolute best part of this book was the wonderful romance that reignited between these two and the way they truly loved each other.

I am happy that the new series, Give a Bookish Girl a Biker, is set in the same bookish world and community that the Dating a Denver Dragon series is set in. I have read the first book in that series and it was fun to see a few cross over characters make appearances in that novel.

This is book 6 in the Dating a Denver Dragon Series and can be read as a standalone, though you may enjoy the end of the book more if you've read the previous books. Lucky Left Wing is told through Finchley and Aiden's pov and is a sweet second chance romance.

Because of her upbringing and past, Finchley has been hiding and in search of safety. That search is partly why she decides to take a job with the Denver Dragons and be reunited with Aiden, her high school sweetheart that she never moved on from. Like her, Aiden also never moved on. Though he's the prankster of the team, he carries the loss of letting her get away. When they are reunited, he is determined not to make the same mistake that he did in the past. I would've liked to have more flashbacks of their past and build up but I did like that they didn't waste time in being honest about their feelings. I liked how protective Aiden was of her and the way Finchley could trust him. It was nice to see them united and stronger together. I liked that Finchley found a support system with the Denver Dragons too. The interactions between them and Aiden with his friends were sweet and fun. Overall, readers, especially fans of the series, will be content with this series end.

This book was the epitome of right person, wrong time along with the second chance aspect. Usually I’m not a big fan of second chance romances, yet this one made sense! I probably would’ve done the exact same thing if I was in Aiden’s position about to get married to Finchley. How does a teenager handle threats from their significant other’s father? Threats of hurting said significant other? Their first thought is to run to protect them! That’s exactly what Aiden did thinking he was doing the right thing when he ended up hurting Finchley. When they finally saw each other for the first time though after 10 plus years?! GASP! The reunion was everything!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how fast Finchley understood and forgave Aiden’s actions from the past especially after not hearing or seeing him after all those years. And, I’m glad they got back together before her crazy father and crazy ex-fiancé found her. Finchley is truly so brave and inspiring! Her and Aiden were both unafraid this time around. He didn’t run away! They didn’t give up! Instead, they found a solution TOGETHER to ward off the crazy men in her life. If that’s not character development then I don’t know what is. After everything, Aiden and Finchley finally got the HEA they deserved!!!!

It's been ten years since Aiden Doyle left Finchley Bennett at the altar without telling her why and she was left wondering why he would walk away and break her heart. Aiden thought he was doing the right thing at the time, but he couldn't have been much more wrong in his beliefs. Over the same ten years, Finchley has been on the run, hiding from her father and her ex-fiance, and now she's ready to head to Denver and the safety of Aiden. She's hired as the mascot of the Denver Dragons hockey team and she becomes famous for her scintillating gymnastic performance above the ice, but she's still trying to keep her secret. Just as she'd hoped, Aiden was there for her and finding out the truth of what her father put them through, the love that never died brings them back together. I really loved that this was a sweet, low-angst story with characters that were at once, recognizable and familiar. I was left with such a good feeling and grateful for the sweet, witty, charming Dating a Denver Dragon series.

I have grown to love Aiden more with each installment of this series, and I was so excited to read his story! Learning more about his background, and getting to know Finchley, was so enlightening. Finchley had faced some difficult things, and how she had come through them, and still worked hard to find her freedom was so powerful. Aiden was every bit the caring and loving hero I hoped he would be, and there’s something endearing about a hero with an Irish brogue 🥰

Sweet second chance for Aiden!

I absolutely loved "Lucky Left Wing" by M. J. Padgett! Aiden and Finchley's story is just so sweet and compelling. I was hooked from the start, cheering for Finchley as she tried to escape her abusive past and find happiness.

I'd already fallen for Aiden from his friendships with the other Denver Dragons, so I was thrilled to see him find love of his own. And what a love story it is! This is a tale of second chances and the power of true love to overcome obstacles.

What I loved most about this book was the way Aiden and Finchley found each other again. Their romance is tender and heartwarming, especially when they're talking under the stars. It's a beautiful reminder that love can conquer all, even when things seem impossible.

Overall, "Lucky Left Wing" is a wonderful read that will leave you feeling uplifted and happy. If you're looking for a sweet romance with a strong emotional core, this is the perfect book for you!

I ask, ensuring Ivan is okay. “Ivan told us all about your little prank, and we all decided it was time to collectively return the favour,” Bridger said, resting his hand on my shoulder.
“Happy fortieth birthday, old man.” I release a deep breath and finally laugh.
“You bloody boogers. I should kick you all out right now.” Evan laughs. “Kinda hard to do that when we all own it.” As laughter fills the room again, I can’t help smiling. They got me, but man, it feels so good. We all own this tavern, and it’ll tie us together forever. All the Dragons. Our family. “What do you think?” Finchley asks, snuggling up to me. “I think you’re amazing, and I’m so lucky,” I say, leaning down to kiss my wife while our large family congratulates Ivan on a prank well done.

Aiden and Finchley’s story was a perfect ending to the Dating A Denver Dragon Series. Since the first book Aiden held a special place in my heart. I knew there was so much more to his story!

Ten years ago Aiden left the love of his life, Finchley, at the alter. With no explanation.

This book immediately hooked me. I was just waiting for Aiden and Finchley to cross each other’s paths. Aiden is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to protect Finchley. Who doesn’t love an overprotective cinnamon roll MMC!?

Finchley did not come from the best family. So she didn’t get the opportunity to find a tight knit group until her move to Denver. I enjoyed seeing the wives/girlfriends of the other Dragons player slowly become family to Finchley.

Lucky Left Wing is the final book in this series, and it's about Finchley and Aiden. They have a history. Aiden is drawn to the Denver Dragons' new team mascot without knowing it's his ex Finchley. When Aiden discovers the truth, he and Finchley have to clear the air in between them and the reason why their relationship didn't go forward as intended.
I enjoyed the community, closeness, and family bond among the Denver Dragons team and how Finchley's friendship with the other ladies from the team developed. There are some hard topics that the author included in Finchley's backstory that came to play, yet Aiden was patient and caring with her. Loved the ending of this story and hated that this series had to end, but it's one I would read again.

I started this book and couldn’t put it down!
I love this series and the characters but this might be my favorite!
The other books are a lot funnier and or lighthearted but this story was really captivating.
I also loved the wrap up for the whole series at the end it was perfect and I think every fan is going to love it!!!

This book deals with abuse, trauma, and a sordid past but without too many of the details. I really loved how the author tackled this subject. It’s very hard to give enough information for the story but also keep it lighthearted and full of hope but that’s exactly what the author did.
I’m gonna miss the Denver Dragons but this series will definitely be a reread for me!

I really enjoyed getting to hear about Aiden’s story. He was always favorite of mine in the previous books, and seeing his second chance romance was a great ending to their series. I wouldn’t complain about more books added eventually because I would love to read a few more Dragons stories, one in particular (Cyrus).

Finchley was a fun character, I wish I could see her act in real life. I’m sure it’s much like something you would see on America’s Got Talent. The descriptions that M.J. Uses really paint an awesome picture.

There were a few other things I really enjoyed but don’t want to ruin the story for others, so you’ll have to pick it up and figure those out yourself!

This is the book I didn't know I was waiting for in this series! I'm so glad they ended with Aiden's story, it wraps up everything so sweetly. I loved reading about Aiden's backstory and how he had to leave his true love, Finchley, behind in order to save her.
But when, Finchley comes to Denver looking to free herself of her crazed father and abusive ex fiance, and gets hired as the Dragon's mascot, she finds she can't hide her identity from Aiden any longer.

To see them work out their past and be able to make a future for themselves was so heartwarming and beautiful. Great ending to this series!

I am so happy to finally get to Aiden's story! I have been waiting to him find the love he deserves, but I did not see Finchley coming! What a fun and unique story! I was fascinated as I read Finchley's routines and loved how Aiden was perplexed as to why he kept being drawn to the secret mascot. It was no surprise to see the Dragons and Darlings come together to protect Finchley. This is one of the reasons I love series that center around a sibling or friend group. I feel I have come to know these characters, know how they will react individually and as a group, and I feel like I am a part of them. I mean when the Darlings circled Finchley, I was right there with my arms out keeping her safe.

M J Padgett writes some of the best romance and her MMCs are the best! Love that she was the one to craft Aiden and Finchley's story.
