I'm one of those weird introverts that enjoys public speaking, but that didn't happen until I was older. Like the Warren Buffett example in this book, when I was younger I was afraid to even introduce myself the first day of school.
Feeling comfortable with public speaking takes some learning, and I have taken several classes on it, and I feel that this book captures everything I've been taught in the past, plus stuff I've never thought of. And it was well organized and easy to read. I am sure I'll reference this book in the future, and I highly recommend it.
Well written practical guide to develop public speaking skills. As someone who fainted speaking to a room full of 3 people to now confidently speaking to thousands every week, the strategies discussed in this book are what I’ve been using and teaching for years to enhance speaking skills. Start with why, be confident in your delivery, practice, engage your audience, and release the judgement of others. You have a powerful message to share with others. Excellent book to help you get started!
This book was great from the very beginning. I will say I can’t forget the image of that young boy on a stage, presenting his first poem. For that. If you want to learn how to speak in front of people, it’s not just about being born a confident speaker. You can be taught. This book will help you overcome the fear. From strategies for calming your nerves, to powerful ways for connecting with your audience this makes it seem easier.
How to talk to anyone or thousands is a great tool for a person who is nervous about public speaking. I am nervous about doing lives on social media. But if I am doing a zone on one interview I am very confident. In some areas I am good and others I am not.
Loved this book. It was way different than I thought it was going to be. I loved how personal the author was in telling his personal experiences. Also he gives great examples to overcome our fears when public speaking. Wow. Loved it. Way to go Carl!!!
