Robin Hood, outlaw of Sherwood Forest, is a master archer, an outlaw, and determined to right the wrongs of the world by stealing from the rich to give to the poor. There never was such a man though, just a woman named Robynne Hood, who tries to keep her impulsive brother and his band of merry misfits out of trouble and sets off a chain of events that change their lives forever.
This is a wonderful reimagining of the classic tale of Robin Hood, but with a woman as the main character, shifters hiding from humans, and the sheriff being an actual ally. Robynne is a fox shifter who chooses to become an outlaw in Sherwood Forest instead of following what was expected of her. I really loved Robynne and her protective and free spirit nature. She rebels against everything that is expected of women during this time period and instead is an archer, a fighter, and a protector of her family, and the people of Nottingham.
Daniel has recently returned from the Crusades and has been assigned as temporary Sheriff of Nottingham after the unexpected death of the previous evil sheriff. Daniel and Robynne grew up together and are reunited in Nottingham. Their attraction is strong but is tempered by the circumstances of him being the sheriff and her being an outlaw. I really enjoyed their rekindle relationship and how we are seeing them figure out how they are going to make it actually work this time.
This follows a similar plot to the Robin Hood stories out there. We see the king's men trying to capture Hood and accusing the wrong people, elaborate escapes, and skilled archery shots. I enjoyed the changes and how shifters and paranormals have been woven into this story. I really am interested in seeing what other paranormals end up showing up during the rest of the story.
Overall, this was a great start for a series and a great retelling so far. I am very interested in seeing what happens next in Robynne and Daniel’s story is still unfinished.

Interesting twist on the legend of Robin Hood. This Robin is actually Robynne and she is one hell of a shot with her arrow. Not only that but there is the added bonus with having shifters throughout. Wolves, bear, eagle, lion, a dragon and a certain red coated fox. I think we can guess who that is.
An outlaw hiding in Sherwood forest with her band of merry men. In this case a band of misfits including her wild headed brother who seems to love running into trouble she then has to get him out of. It's due to this that our girl runs into the Sheriff of Nottingham, though not the one we know, thankfully that guy is no more. Daniel has been placed into this role without much say in the matter but after a chance encounter in the forest when he and some of his men happen upon a robbery in progress he might see some luck in it. He knows who they are but keeps quiet. Well he's not likely to want to get his true mate captured now is he.
Split between two sides, sheriff and outlaw, can they trust each other with the sides they are now on. Held apart by where they have found themselves but drawn together by their bond. Only so much time they can stay away after being apart for so long with Daniel off on the crusades. Heated interactions and then some when they get close. A dragons kiss anyone, that's one sure way to heat the core.
I like that we not only see Robynne giving back to the people of Nottingham but that Daniel is helping too in anyway he can. Knowing the pattern and finding a way to ease the way with doing things. Going well until an unwanted visitor comes to town that seems to be just as bad as the previous sheriff and wants the outlaw caught no matter what. Danger is coming and Daniel, Robynne and the merry men, especially her brother Robert, are in the firing line. Let's just hope a well placed arrow or two can get them out of any sticky situations they might find themselves in.
Fun going through and finding out who the players were going to be and also which animal they were each going to be able to shift into. Sheriff has a lot more strength and power than meets the eye with what he can turn into. Can they find a way to really help the people of Nottingham without bringing more danger to the town. With the amount of stories that get told of Robin Hood and the whole ‘steal from the rich give to the poor’ thing getting bolder it's unlikely.
A larger story is playing throughout and will continue within the next books. I like that it will draw them all together as a whole. Good mix of characters and fun retelling of a legend in a new way. Can't wait to see where it goes from here. Let the next adventure begin.

I really enjoy Anna Lowe's shifter books. I read her other series and loved them. I'm really excited for this one!
This is about Robin Hood or should I say Robynne Hood. Everyone thinks that Robin Hood is a man but that's not true in this series. Robynne Hood is a female fox shifter. She leads the Merry Men which include her brother Robert. If it wasn't for her, Robert would be in some serious trouble. She's always bailing him out of trouble. Luckily for him, he's quite charming.
Then there's the new sheriff in town, Daniel, a dragon shifter and Robynne's lost love. He left 5 years earlier to fight in the crusades and Robynne never heard from him again. She feared him dead. But after a heist in the forest and then her attempt to give the goods to the poor, she runs into him. The sparks never left! One night, they sneak away and spend the night together and it's pure bliss! Until Robynne wakes up hearing people talk about how they caught Robin Hood and he's too be killed. She immediately realizes that it's Robert and must save him. But what does that mean for her and the sheriff? Will they ever be able to be together? I took me a bit to get into the story, but once I did, I'm hooked and can't wait to read about the others!

This is a modern-day twist on the legend of Robin Hood. And let me tell you, I'm all in. I love it. It's also kinda like a cross between Romeo and Juliet as well because the two lovers are on opposite sides of the law but are both doing what they think is best for the people. Whereas Romeo and Juliet loved each other, and it was destiny that brought them together but family that kept the lovers apart. Unlike those lovers, Robynne and Daniel will eventually get to have their happy ending. This is a tale of two sides coming together for the good of the people. Two lovers on the opposite sides, the outlaw and the sheriff coming together in more ways than one. Robynne is slick and smart like a fox, while Daniel's passion is heated like a dragon's kiss. With the help from the Merry Men, Robynne steals from the rich and gives to the poor. She also has help from a monk, whose braverly is as loyal and strong as a lion's heart. Join them and take you on this adventure, and I promise you won't regret it. Did I mention they have swords, bow and arrows, and knives? And of course a steady stead name Charger.

A modern and exciting Robin Hood story that will hold your attention from start to finish
This Was a captivating read that once I started reading, I found that it was impossible to put down I was totally engrossed by the plot and found the characters to be superbly written and a pleasure to read.
Robynne and Daniel are a wonderful pair of characters and I know that readers will be hoping that the couple find their happy ending, they o through so much and this is what as the reader I was hoping for,
Robynne is extremely smart and working alongside Daniel who is highly passionate always working hard and like the men of the original Robin Hood story, he is willing to steal from the rich and helps the poor in any way he can.
I guarantee that you will thoroughly enjoy this read and that you will look forward to future books by Anna Lowe.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

4.5 stars.
I’ve never been a big fan of the retelling of fairytales but the shifter element turned this for me.
But this is a truly enjoyable reinvention of a story that has been done to death in the movies.
A female outlaw, who lives outside the structures that women are meant to abide by at the time this story is set. Robynne is also a shifter, a wily, cunning and crafty fox to be exact.
Her love interest and fated mate is Daniel, the temporary sheriff of Nottingham who has replaced the evil sheriff we know from past stories, and someone from her past.
I enjoyed how the author weaves historical fiction into an engaging tale.
One cannot help but wish the outlaws good fortune.
The typical misinformed accusations and abuse of innocent people, the powerful and arrogant machinations of those in power, and the silliness and sweetness of the outlaws themselves makes a beguiling tale to read.
Though this is a HFN between Robynne and Daniel as their story runs through the series, you don’t feel cheated.
Cannot wait to read the next book.

But this is a truly enjoyable reinvention of a story that has been done to death in the movies.
A female outlaw, who lives outside the structures that women are meant to abide by at the time this story is set. Robynne is also a shifter, a wily, cunning and crafty fox to be exact.
Her love interest and fated mate is Daniel, the temporary sheriff of Nottingham who has replaced the evil sheriff we know from past stories, and someone from her past.
I enjoyed how the author weaves historical fiction into an engaging tale.
One cannot help but wish the outlaws good fortune.
The typical misinformed accusations and abuse of innocent people, the powerful and arrogant machinations of those in power, and the silliness and sweetness of the outlaws themselves makes a beguiling tale to read.
Though this is a HFN between Robynne and Daniel as their story runs through the series, you don’t feel cheated.
Cannot wait to read the next book.

Interesting and entertaining, this retelling of Robin Hood with shifters and a heroine with a lot of brains to solve difficult situations. Her ingenious way of accomplishing her mission along with her skills made her a great adversary. I liked the communication between Robynne and Daniel and the fact that the situation of this 'acting sheriff' was as dangerous as Robynne's. Disappointed with what was happening around him, Daniel had a new mission, although aware that everything could turn against him in just a second. The reading kept me intrigued with the turn of events and the relationship between Robynne and Daniel. I liked that the story left me wanting to know more about several interesting secondary characters that had a certain mystery, and it seems that the author will please me with the next books. Action, suspense, shifters, partners in crime, the villain, romance, and passion.

Ms. Lowe has done it again and wrote a great story with this first book in the Sherwood Forrest Shifters series. This is a modern-day version of Robin Hood where Robynne Hood is a woman. The book had humor as well as romance. Robynne is a fox shifter and a master archer. Daniel is a dragon shifter. They have been apart for many years and now Daniel is the acting sheriff of Nottingham. Daniel's predecessor was a horrible and cruel man. Robynne and Daniel were mates/lovers on opposite sides of the law. It was great that he was alive after being away for so long. Robynne's brother, Robert Hood, along with his merry men, was so funny at times and a little dense. He was able to take from the wealthy (especially women) so easily. Robynne and Daniel meet and although there are still feelings, can she trust him. I love when Ms. Lowe mentioned in the book "a better life for lessor off souls." It kind of makes you see Robert Hood's point of view.

What a fun read! This series is a take on the tales of Robin Hood, but with a pnr twist! The merry men are a bunch of various shifters who prefer to live away from humans in Sherwood Forrest. I love that the author made the hero Robin into Robynne, a girl, and she is a skilled archer who leads the merry men on their quest to help the poor. Robynne, a fox shifter, is quite the firecracker! She’s highly protective, smart, and very determined to rail against the expectations of women in this era. I loved her!
Daniel, the temporary sheriff of Nottingham, grew up with Robynne and they are mates. Unfortunately that comes with a daunting set of caveats being a sheriff and outlaw! They are totally into each other and know they have to find a solution that allows them to be together. I look forward to seeing how they do that.
So far, a good start to the series and I see lots of possibilities.

4,5 stars for Daniel and Robynne
This was an entertaining read. Robin Hood is a girl and the sheriff is her mated dragon. Okay the sheriff is not the same as the one building a bad reputation. But noone knows that. And everybody thinks Robin Hood is a guy. And they are both chained to their actual roles on the big picture.
I love this mix of story retelling, alleged misunderstandings and subtle changes to the original. The character building was so good. The mix of good, bad and just careless made it very entertaining and the scenes between Daniel and Robynne were hot enough, without the need to get more graphic or detailed. Loved this partly of the page sexy times. I already know I need to listen to the other two stories because I need the whole story. It's not interconnected standalone and while every book has its own couple, the main story keeps running and we ended on a cliffhanger there.

Robin Hood with some twists! Love fairy tale re-imaginings! Add in shifters and I’m loving it even more! Fox shifter Robynne has an idiot brother, who is causing mischief by robbing the rich, so she has to essentially clean up after him and the other merrymen. She’s in a less than ideal situation, but her loyalty and good heart shine through. A bit of a curve ball is thrown her way, when a love she thought dead re-emerges, but they aren’t exactly working in the same circles. Turns out lost love Daniel is the new sheriff of Nottingham! Love their connection!! Their feelings are so sweet and touching! Love how this second chance romance develops. And he’s a dragon shifter! Wonderful! This isn’t exactly a cliffhanger, but there is more story to be told for this world and these characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series! A fun read!

Exciting action and hot shifters. What's not to love? Her name is Robynne, she's a fox shifter an expert in archery, and apparently her brothers' keeper. In an effort to bail her impulsive brother out of trouble after he and his friends rob a carriage passing through Sherwood Forest. Instead of letting them keep the loot she insists on giving it to the poor. Daniel is a knight, a dragon shifter just returned from the Crusades, and has just been appointed the new sheriff of Nottingham. They should be mortal enemies but there's a spark between them neither wants to deny.
Fantastic twists in the plot, exciting action, and sizzling interactions between the very will written and compelling main characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to other readers.

A delightful spin on the Robin Hood legend. Robynne is a master archer, fox shifter and all female. It is her brother Robert and his Merry men who are stealing from the rich as they pass through Sherwood Forest, and she returns those ill gotten gains to the poor. At great danger to herself.
Daniel, her fated mate and dragon shifter is currently “acting sheriff” - so not the “bad guy” we all have heard about. That still leaves them with an “opposite sides of the fence” issue, though they agree in spirit. Daniel feels he can do the most good in the Sheriff position.
A very enjoyable shifter romance intertwined with the legend we all know and love. Set to be a trio of books with a quick release schedule. I’m eagerly anticipating the next two stories!!

Das war mein erstes Buch mit Gestaltwandlern mit Drachen Füchse und Wölfe, es war echt cool.
Es ist eine Robin Hood inspirierte Geschichte aber er ist eine sie. Robynne lebt mit ihrem Bruder und seinen Freunden im Wald, aber ihr Bruder Robert bringt sich immer wieder in Schwierigkeiten und sie rettet ihn immer. Aber da ist auch noch der neue Sheriff, Daniel, ein Drachengestaltwandler und Robynns geliebter von vor 5 Jahren.
Die Lovestory zwischen den beiden war super süß und ich bin eigentlich kein großer Fan von Second-chance aber es war wirklich gut geschrieben genauso wie der Rest des Buches. Es hat zwar ein wenig gedauert um in das Buch reinzukommen aber zum Ende hin wurde es immer spannender. :)

What a delightful retelling of the story of Robin Hood! Only those silly noblewomen got it wrong, it's Robynne, not Robin. Robynne idiot brother, Robert, is the leader of the Merry Men and making an absolute mess of everything. Leaving it up to Robynne to keep them all safe. She's a master archer thanks to a father who had her practicing since the age of 3.
With Anna's customary wonderful descriptions of places and people, you will find yourself getting lost in the story. If you've got the time, she's got the story! I loved every moment spent reading this.

If you’re looking for a fresh new twist on a well-loved classic, then this would be a great start! Ms. Lowe has started off her new series in a supersized fashion, with characters that will have you laughing out loud and shaking your head, all in a good way! The trouble our Merry Men find and the headaches they tend to give to our heroine, Robynne, are priceless, until true trouble weasels his way into Nottingham in the form of Lord Ramage. Will the handsome Sheriff Daniel be able to help Robynne save the day? Only time will tell!

This book had such an amazing premise, but unfortunately, the execution just fell flat for me.
I loved the idea of playing off Disney's 'Robin Hood' by using the concept of shifters. There were a lot of very clever nods to the original Robin Hood story, and it was very fun picking up on them.
I think this book would have done a lot better as a YA instead of NA. The writing and characters felt a bit juvenile, and I just couldn't connect to the story.
I think overall, the book was just a bit too short to do the story justice. It didn't give the reader enough time to care about the characters or their plight.

A new series by a favorite author that remakes the classic story of Robin Hood. In her version Robin is a woman who's hiding in Sherwood forest due to a villainous nobleman and is thought to be a man due her brother robbing from the rich. Enter her mate who's returned and now the acting sheriff. The story is fast moving with suspense, action and of course some heat because well mates. Though they may get together their story is far from over and I can't wait to find out what happens next to them and the band of merry men.

A fascinating re-imagining of a classic story ... and a damn good story it is, too! Robin Hood and the nasty Sheriff of Nottingham become Robynne, a foxy fox shifter, and the nasty sherriff's replacement, Daniel, a dragon shifter and knight newly back from the crusades. Needless to say, when they meet, the sparks fly. Note this is the first book of a trilogy and their story doesn't finish completely until the end of the third book - but take my word for it, all three are worth reading and the last book will definitely leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling of a true HEA!

This is the 1st book in the Sherwood Forest Shifters series by Anna Lowe and she hasn’t disappointed! It is a different take on the story of Robin Hood, this is Robin/Robynne (fox shifter) and Daniel (dragon/ temporary sheriff) story. The defining part of this story is that Robynne/Robin is female. These two were childhood sweethearts until he went to the crusades. When he returned everything was different. Now all they have to do is reconnect! Simple yes, well No! So read on and discover if they can! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A great story based on Sherwood Forest and Robin Hood. But, Robyn is a woman and not only a woman, but a fox shifter. Her enemy is her long lost mate, Daniel, the sheriff and dragon shifter. While she tries to keep her brother and his fellow thieves out of trouble, Daniel is fighting for the villagers. When these two come together, woo hoo, they make a formidable team. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book is excellent! Robynne Hood is a fox shifter and is pulled into being an outlaw because of her brother. She decides to steal from the rich and give to the poor. Everyone thinks she is a male. The acting sheriff, Daniel, is a dragon shifter turns out to be her mate that she has not seen in several years. Since they are on the opposite sides of the law makes it difficult for them to be together. Get this book and see all the adventures and if they get to be together.

Robynne is hiding out in the forest with her brother and his Merry Men. Daniel is the new acting sheriff. Robynne does her best to keep her brother out of trouble, but he doesn't always think before he acts. Can she keep things under control or will things spiral out of her control?
I love that this retelling has Robyn as a female. We are totally capable too, and I enjoy this story very much so far! Can't wait to read the rest of this story!

I’ll be honest I absolutely love Anna Lowe and narrator Kelsey Osborne so I went into this not liking a non British person doing voices for Robin Hood themed book.
BUT as always Anna Lowe wrote a fantastic story but also the amazing Kelsey Osborne does her usual amazing job. This time she’s complimented by the lovely Chris Merlin. I’ve not listen to much of him but will now be looking out for his audiobooks.
Finished on a cliffhanger so cannot wait for next in series.

This reworking of the tales of Robin Hood brings smiles and sexy joy. With wry humor and a bit of suspenseful action two star crossed lovers are getting a second chance at love while trying to make their world a better place. If you love shifters and their angsty mating stories Robynne and Daniel start a new series with this fun read.

Another excellent book by Anna Lowe. I love all her books. This is a wonderful retelling of Robin Hood. I love all the changes. It has excitement, emotions, twists and turns, surprises and so much more. A shifter romance. I highly recommend this. It keeps you reading and I for one will be reading it again. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
