A perfect book.
Marguerite Henry is probably amoung my top 5 authors, all-time. This biography captures everything that was wonderful about her and her books. Inspriational and heartfelt without being sappy. I did cry at the end, but I have a cold and don't feel well, so we'll ignore that...

This is a short biography of the great writer of children's horse stories: Marguerite Henry. It is aimed at middle readers, but even reading it as an adult I enjoyed it. It was fun to learn how her love of horses came about, and her love of writing. It was also interesting to learn how the collaboration with her best illustrator came about, and how supportive of her efforts her husband was. For any fan of Henry's work, this is a must-read!

This was an engrossing story, and a nice look at what a writer's life could be like. However, it might almost be a little bit dangerous for young people as I suppose that most writers don't find success as easily or end up in a life quite so idyllic as Henry's. It was very nice to read about though!
