It's a great book if you're looking for an introduction to the sources and nature of public international law.dixon provides an overview of certain concepts supported by cases and examples to help clarify the grey areas in international law.like the law of treaties, law of the sea and the peaceful settlement of disputes etc.and most importantly : it is not as boring as the other books I've read on the subject of international law.
