A passionate tumble in the sheets with the Big Boss was not in my plans. As a doctor, I do not have time for romance. I barely have time to sleep, let alone indulge in fantasies that involve my patient's hot Dad.But lately, he has began to occupy my mind more and more. What started as a secret attraction has evolved into something I cannot avoid. This cannot continue. Not when both my career and heart are now at stake.
Dr. Gianna Rhodes acted like she abhorred Stephen Chance when she first met bim. She was his daughter Kennedy’s doctor. He was condescending and arrogant. Both were attracted to one another.
They started an affair in a hospital bed when a city-wide threat put the hospital in lockdown. He is the CEO of the facility and she is a resident. Inappropriate behavior on the part of both! He had even set up a rule that fraternization would lead to termination.
He leaves when a blackmailer threatens her career. Did he try to find out who the blackmailer was or why he was being blackmailed? This did not make sense. Nor the fact that he never called her or accepted her calls during the months she was pregnant with his child. Seems like this drama was inserted in the story for some reason.
It's not a bad book. It's really not... It's just not what I needed. I mean I'm reading this in February and it's very short. So if you like short stories this is the perfect book for you. While for me it's just, it's not enough. I need more to see how their relationship grows between the boss and the employee.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short medical read. Stephen and Giana's love story brings drama, family, and office politica into the mix. Fast paced yet very detailed with a little spice mixed in, Marley you're on to something here and I can't wait to read the next story.
