A hopeless romantic who has given up hope. A billionaire who has everything except what he really wants. One car. One storm. One Valentine’s Day to remember.

Sabrina Hopewell is swearing off romance. Sure, she’s been a sap her whole life, and most of the stage plays she’s written have been silly, swoony rom-coms. But after her latest heartbreak, she’s decided it’s time to grow up and leave the fairy tales behind. Unfortunately, it’s Valentine’s Day, and the entire city seems to be conspiring to make sure she doesn’t forget it. Which is why when the opportunity to get out of town for the day comes up, Sabrina doesn’t hesitate. Just her luck, her attempt to escape lands her in a car with New York’s most eligible dreamboat.

Noah Prince, a.k.a. “Prince Charming,” leads a charmed life. Or at least that’s what the gossip columns would have you believe. Still, he’s happy enough. Or he was until earlier this morning. Now he’s not sure what he is. Or what he’s going to do. All he knows is he needs to get out of the city now. He packs a bag and calls a car service. It’s a little strange that his driver seems to actively dislike him, but he’s far too preoccupied to care.

But when heavy snow hits, things take a sharp turn . . . right off the road. Now Sabrina and Noah will have to work together to get through the night. But will they be the same in the morning?

Driving the Billionaire is a sweet, opposites attract, forced proximity billionaire rom-com. It is part of the Sweet & Swoonworthy Billionaires series. Expect cute and cozy romance, banter, chemistry, charm, and a PG vibe with mild language, closed doors, and guaranteed smiles.

It was tough to settle on a star rating for this book—it’s too good for 3 stars, but not quite strong enough for 4. In the end, I gave it 4 stars. It’s a sweet, clean, and cute romance. The plot is simple, with most of the events happening in just one day. This gave it a mix of rushed and slow-paced vibes: rushed because they fall in love after just one (not even full) day, and slow-paced because the book focuses so much on that single day.

I struggled a bit with the writing style. While I’m not the biggest fan of third-person POV, I can usually manage it without much trouble. However, this book was a bit harder to read. It alternates between his and her perspectives in third person, but it often felt like the characters were referring to themselves in third person, almost as if narrating their own actions. At times, it was confusing to tell whose perspective I was reading.

The characters, however, were sweet and did show some growth. Noah starts off as a rigid billionaire, focused on not disappointing his family or becoming like his brother. By the end, he begins doing what he truly enjoys and makes heartfelt (if slightly cringy) gestures for the woman he loves. Sabrina begins as a heartbroken romantic and ends as a happy romantic—her growth is subtle, but seeing her happiness was satisfying.

Overall, it’s a charming story with likable characters, even if the pacing and writing style weren’t entirely to my taste.

Horribly boring & plain. No chemistry between the characters, their conversations were off & they acted like insecure 12 year olds.

The name of the series pretty much says it all: "Sweet & Swoonworthy", indeed!

While I'm still not a big fan of all things billionaire, I DO love Laurie Baxter's charming and funny stories. And Noah is thankfully not your run-of-the-mill alpha-billionaire but very much an (occasionally awkward) cinnamon roll of a hero. I think Sabrina - rather impulsive and funny - is a good match for him.
This story made me smile, it made me swoon, and although I felt the occasional urge to shake some sense into Sabrina, I enjoyed it a lot.

Driving the Billionaire is a lighthearted, fun, romantic comedy. I love Sophie/Ava and Noah. Their banter is very engaging. I enjoyed the "get out of town on Valentine's Day" escape. Never has their been a more inept driver which just adds fun to this plot. I read it straight through and the ending is perfect. Ms. Baxter has written an outstanding book!

I read for what seems like for-ev-er. So far, she picked him up, drove a ways, got stuck in the snow. That’s it.
And I’m at the 50% point. All I can say is, I hope the second half moves a little faster than the first half did.
Of course, that immortal line, stolen from Designing Women, ‘thank you very much’, has been mentioned about 7 million times. And ‘my kryptonite’, stolen from the movie Red, a forever favorite of romance writers, has not failed to show up here as well.
If you’re looking for a fast paced romance, this may not be your cup of tea. Even if you’re only looking for a romance, you might want to keep looking.
For me, this is a ‘no’.

The book opens with our lead character Sabrina Hopewell bursting into tears after watching “Happily Ever Valentine.” of course when her roommate, Ava Jenkins, comes into the room she tries to hide that fact. You see she is still mourning a breakup with an ex-Brady who still lives in the building. As if that isn’t bad enough his new girlfriend moved in quickly after their breakup. Then to see the large rock now on her finger hurt. What hurt even worse is she had been foolish enough to share her perfect proposal at Rockefeller Center while ice skating in the snow. (She’d overheard them recounting the story to a neighbor. It was not a large elevator.) So romantic. Sabrina almost wished she’d thought of it herself—oh, wait, she had! In a love-blind lapse of judgment had even told Brady about it, and now he was living it, except he had recast her part as a busty redhead from his gym.

Ava quickly tried to get her mind off the past because she didn't want her to put any more energy into that jerk Brady. “He isn’t doing anything to me. I just need to do what’s best for me. And chasing some romantic fantasy is not it.” Sabrina then asked Ava if she really thought Ben her boyfriend was going to clean his apartment for their big date. Ava’s eyes popped open. “Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you! His roommate came down with the flu, so he’s sacked out on the sofa and his girlfriend’s over there making chicken soup and trying to nurse him back to health. Ben and I were going to move our big cooking and candlelight thing over here. In fact, he should be here in an hour or so. I hope you don’t mind. Obviously, you’re more than welcome to join us.”

Sabrina was scrabbling in her mind because she did not want to be a third wheel and yet she didn't want to be stuck in her room either because that's when you found all the reasons why you needed to leave it. Awkward! But then a call comes in. “What? No. Nooo. No. I’ve had today off on the schedule for a month.” Sabrina’s mind starts working overtime. Ava drove for a private car service. It was good money, but they were always switching up schedules and calling her in at the last minute. “Well, I’m sorry if everyone else took the day off too, but I have plans . . . I guess that’s your problem, isn’t it?”

And the perfect “Parent Trap” moment begins in Sabrina’s head. Only she and Ava aren't twins heck they aren’t even related. Do you see where this is going? Well, Sabrina now Ava picks up her elite fare who happens to be the Noah Prince aka Prince Charming. The most sought-after 29-year-old bachelor dating his long-time girlfriend Victoria Ashby who also worked for his foundation. Sabrina was driving him from NY to Conn. However, he looked lost and stressed. Not like what she had built up of someone of his wealth would be like. Her being on a 24/7 snark could not bode well for Ava.

The snow keeps coming and so do the beeps of the text on his phone that he does not bother to look at. Now, she was worried about him. However, when it started ringing he couldn't ignore it. It was Victoria and she was worried. And he lied to her about what and where he was going. When he got off Sabrina mentioned that they might cancel the Pink Heart Ball, due to the storm and how bad it’s snowing. Hoping to alleviate some of the guilt Prince seemed to be feeling. Instead, the look of Horror appeared in full living color, and he yelled, “Turn the car around.” “What?” Was her GPS wrong? Had they missed the turnoff? “Turn the car around!”

Let's just say that from here on out things only get funnier. Snarky ends up being his love language and romance is truly still what melts her heart when it’s the right man.

It's Valentines Day and Sabrina's roommate Ava wants some alone time with her boyfriend. Sabrina is luckless in love and over the concept of romance. When the opportunity arises for Sabrina to fill in for Ava at her job as a driver on Valentines Day, Sabrina jumps at the chance.

Sabrina's passenger is none other than Noah Prince also known by the media as Prince Charming, which Sabrina accidently calls him. Her snappy demeanour of meaningless love and Valentines Day comes across to Noah as dismissive and grumpy, something he, as a billionaire is not used to being on the receiving end. This seems to make Sabrina all the more intriguing to him.

They end up in a wrong turn and experience themselves stuck inside the car in the middle of a snow storm.

This is a lovely, well paced and well written story. I enjoyed this story and the characters of Sabrina and Noah and the funny situations they find themselves in.

a fake chauffeur and a runaway boyfriend

After a breakup Sabrina wants nothing to do with Valentine’s Day or men. When her roommate gets a last minute call to work Sabina comes up with a plan to take her place so Ava can spend the day with her boyfriend as they had planned. When she picks up the customer she is frustrated because she doesn’t know enough about the fancy car to work the controls on the dash. She can’t even close the window between her and the customer. Noah is heading out of town to the country to be by himself and think over a conversation with his girlfriend/business associate. When Noah changes his mind and wants to go back they end up stranded in a ditch on a country road with no house in sight no traffic on the road and no cell service.I loved their adventures and the unexpected twists. I recommend as a quick read that will keep your attention.

Valentine's day is NOT the day to stay home while your roomie and boyfriend have their date in your tiny apartment! When Sabrina's roomie Ava's boyfriend plans are threatened by her being called into work to drive a client several hours away, Sabrina volunteers to go instead. Of course she's not a driver for the company, and she can't even work the navigation system. Regardless, off she goes, pretending to be Ava! Imagine her shock when her fair is none other than a famous billionaire. Of course nothing is simple...

Fun characters, semi-predictable plot, and lots of humor all combine to be a highly entertaining and exciting story. It was over too fast, and left me wanting more...sure signs of a terrific book!

Not as I expected

I got this thinking it was going to be a funny breezy romcom. There were chuckle-worthy moments here and there, but mostly, I was consumed with how annoying Sabrina was. All of her preconceived notions about Noah and smarting from her breakup supposedly gave her license to be rude and a nag. And of course, Noah had to be the nice guy that liked that nonsense.

It just didn't do it for me, unfortunately. Most of the book seemed to be Sabrina trying to remind herself that she didn't like romance anymore and then, that she didn't like Noah. The internal back-and-forth got to be redundant. Even when they finally got together, it was rather anticlimactic for me.

Ava was cool, though. Liked her.

🚘Cute story with a really good ending: sweet romance in a blizzard❄

Fairly brief and sprinkled with whimsy, this novel was a good romantic flight (or should I say drive) of fancy and an enjoyable read. Both the hotel mogul billionaire Noah Prince and his erstwhile chauffeur Sabrina aka Ava are great characters in this "brought together on an instant by a snowstorm" romance. I thought the ending was really sweet and cute, but it took a few too many internal dialogues from Sabrina to get there. The by play between the two was good; for me, more of that would have made the story better.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Sweet and Swoonworthy is the perfect description of this rom-com. Sabrina is an awesome character. I loved her impulsive nature and she is super likable. Noah is a quiet and shy Prince Charming. While the two were not likely to ever meet, they seem destined to meet. The story hooked me from the start and it was hard to put down. This rom-com is the perfect blend of humor and heart. Laurie Baxter has a gift for creating characters that grab your attention and make you feel like friends. I'm already hoping that Noah's brother gets a story next! The story moves quickly and has great pacing. I received an advance copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Good tender romance
It's a tender romance with an unexpected self-discovery through an unexpected encounter following an accident, to the acceptance of maybe falling in love, despite experiences that might make you reject any chance of being happy.
The story is well written, and quite cute. I liked the surprising start between Sabrina and Noah. She decides not to hold the candle to her friend on Valentine's Day and takes her place as a luxury chauffeur. The client is Noah, a famous New York businessman, and during their journey she discovers a person she never suspected, in the midst of questioning what he wants for his future.

I have been on a romcom kick lately, and this one tickled me. I have been burned lately by a couple of books that were labelled romcom but then got really angsty on me, so I was glad to find this story. It was just what I like: funny, quirky, and low on angst. Sabrina is a spitfire who is trying to get over her infatuation with romance. Noah appears to be living the dream, but it isn't the dream he would have chosen. They are so cute together, and their banter kept me reading. I liked the nods to Cinderella and Hallmark movies, too. Thanks for a fun and clean story!

This story was very entertaining. The dual perspective was well done, and the story had a nice plot and pacing. The characters were the best part though. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich boy with a heart of gold and the dramatist who is a romantic at heart trying to convince herself that love is not for her. HA The grand gesture scene was awesome! I also enjoyed reading about rich parents (portrayed as real folk with a relationship of their own) who care about their son and not stereotypical snobs. I read an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.

I absolutely fell in love with this funny relationship romance and couldn’t stop reading until I reach the last page, it was that good. I love the complexity of the characters, the mistaken identity and the unbelievably complicated that will make you smile. If you love, love romance, the discovering each other situation, you will definitely love this book.

If anything could go wrong it did but all those wrongs helped put the two most unexpected persons together. Written with good humor and describing hilarious moments, this story is one of those that you must read if you need sometime off from reality these days. It´s fun, entertaining and makes us think of Cinderella´s tales coming to life!

sweet novella with no spice.
Sabrina has sworn of romance since her last boyfriend dumped her for someone else.
On Valentines Day her roommate get a last minute call for work, but Sabrina offers to take the drive.
Turns out it's Prince Charming him self, and Sabrina is anything but up for drivning this perfect man that got it all and with a snowstorm on the way she just want to do the job and get back home.

G-rated, rebound romance, plotted like a rom-com movie

If you don't mind the fact that the hero is technically still in a relationship with another woman the entire book, which takes place across a single day, then you might enjoy this romance novel. It has a classic, rom-com movie plot and is set on Valentine's Day.

Cute Rom-Com

My first time to read a book by Laurie Baxter and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. The plot was fairly simple, but that isn’t intended to take anything away from the book. On the contrary, it’s amazing what two people thrown together in an emergency can experience. So, if you’re looking for a quick fun read, be sure to give this book a try!

A Hallmark Cinderella story

This was fun and reminded me a lot of a Hallmark movie that hadn't been done yet. I thought this story was different and fun. Very quick clean romance. Quite unrealistic, but that's what made it interesting.

It was super cute :) I love how Noah proposed where they had the car accident, that was adorable. I'm also glad Sabrina didn't continue to keep pretending to be Ava and that wasn't the dramatic conflict. That would have been annoying, while the actual concern about different lifestyles is a legitimate thing to be worried about.

Yep! Pretty Cheesy fun!

Readers will have to read this quickly or they'll never know how charming this thinly veiled Cinderella tale is. Well worth an achingly slow start you'll soon find yourself waiting for a next move. Getting them to embrace is fun and funny. Now, hurry and start reading!

Sabrina and Noah

Romance out the wazoo!! Noah is precious as his subconscious clearly knows what he doesn't want, making him run from making a serious wrong choice...right into Sabrina. And let the swoon-worthy Romance begin!! And to think that they almost let their disbelief that the other was interested keep them from being together!! He kept her broken shoe!!!!

This was such a fun read! It didn’t have a ton of depth or character development, but it was a funny, lighthearted and entertaining romantic comedy and was just what I was looking for. Sabrina and Noah were so cute together, both trying to escape Valentine’s Day and getting stranded because of her inept driving. Their banter was fun and engaging. I look forward to reading more from this author!

A sweet and funny Valentine

This was an adorable and quick read with two goofy main characters who need a snowy situation to show them they need each other. I loved the shared comedy between these two, and the different epilogues at the end of the story tied everything together wonderfully. I was left smiling and feeling all the warm fuzzies after this story!

Quick fun read

This was a perfect fun read. It was the quick girl meets guy, doesn't like guy and then falls for guy. Noah and Sabrina were great characters with some sass and charm mixed in. A fun getaway from reality read.
