When Chief of Police Brash deCordova is hurt in the line of duty, a new threat rolls into The Sisters.
With Otis Perry temporarily at the helm, the police department is thwarted by the man’s inflated ego. Newly appointed Deputy Nate Stone does his best to serve justice, but ‘his best’ turns out to be hiring Madison and In a Pinch to investigate what Perry won’t.
Madison has a bad habit of finding danger, and this time is no different.
Best-selling indie and hybrid author Becki Willis loves crafting stories with believable characters in believable situations. Many of her stories stem from her own personal experiences. (No worries; she's never actually murdered anyone).
When she’s not plotting danger and adventure for her imaginary friends, Becki enjoys reading, spending time with her family, unraveling a good mystery (real or imagined), dark chocolate, and a good cup of coffee.
A professed history geek, Becki often weaves pieces of the past into her novels. Family is a central theme in her stories and in her life. She and her husband enjoy traveling but believe coming home to their Texas ranch is the best part of any trip.
Becki has won numerous awards—including two Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Awards, InD’Tale’s coveted RONE, and been named Finalist for two Claymore Awards—but feels the real compliments come from her readers. Drop in for an e-visit anytime at beckiwillis.ccp@gmail.com, or www.beckiwillis.com.
Another fun read in the Sisters. These rural twin cities are full of fun and lively characters. They seem to draw more than their fair share of shady characters from time to time. But they have a neighborhood watch that is on steroids. Not much gets by most of the citizens with the exception of acting Chief, Otis Perry. A good plot and flow to the story. A good mix of serious goings on with plenty of fun dialogue and lots of great characters. I enjoy seeing how the town citizens band together and get things done. Another well done story that kept my attention from beginning to end. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.
Wheeling and Dealing was such a fun read. A clean, funny, and witty whodunit that had me chuckling at the character's antics. This was another good read in the series with its original style and a list of memorable characters. The octogenarians had me laughing and are a wonderful addition to the story. Madison and Granny Bert are out in full force to help save the town.
The town setting and what was going on in secret made for an exciting read. You never know what will happen next. Highly recommended.
this is another wonderful story . brash is still getting better but the town has a drug problem and maddy is hired to find out what is going on. this is a page turning story to the end, the story has granny bert and the gang checking on what is going on. this is well written . l liked that nate wanted her to help and come to the rescue when she needed it. looking forward to the next story. i was given a copy of the story but this is an honest review
With Brash on medical leave, the mayor has appointed Otis Perry as acting police chief. Sadly, Otis is still Otis. Even though it seems that The Sisters is being over run with drug problems, Otis won't allow his officers to investigate. Nothing good can come from that. So the "Golden Girls" hire Maddie to look into things. Thank goodness Maddie has a bigger vehicle than before. Read to see what happens when the out of towners mess with The Sisters.
This is a fantastic series filled with suspense, some laughable antics and lovable characters. I would love to live in The Sisters community! A small time place with lots of action. This book did not disappoint and as usual Madison with the assistance of Granny Bert helped thwart criminals! I can’t wait for more!
Several really good stories in here. One was short, short, one was filled with typos, but the others were very well written. They varied stories a lot so I never was tired of a ‘type’ of reading. Really great writers like Mellanie Szeratto and Becki Willis. I just kept rolling thru the stories.
This is another hit for Becki Willis! Love this series.. I hope it never ends! The characters are like your neighbors next door. So relatable to life in a small town like the type of town I grew up in. I don’t want to spoil anything, but the way the crime situation was solved actually made me chuckle out loud! Genius ending!
Becki Willis has produced another well written and engaging book in this great series. With mutifaceted and quirky characters and a small town setting y you can lose track of time as you try to figure out who the villain is before the crime is solved. Not a book (or series) you shoul miss!
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
I just love all the characters in The Sisters, Texas series. Their closeness as a family and the humor following the antics of Granny Bert and her friends is so funny. Can’t wait for the next one!
Another outstanding story from The Sisters. I feel like I am part do the family there. Thank you Becki, my almost birthday twin, for sharing your God given talent of writing with all of us.
Another great addition to the series, I look forward to every new book. The characters are memorable and the antics are on point as usual! I fell in love with The Sisters and with all of the characters. I highly recommend this series.
I have now read 18 books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. The characters, setting, plots and mysteries were fun to read and very creative. I will read more Becki Willis books in the future.
This series contains some really likeable characters and the family dynamics, story, sense of humor and the oddba;; antics that make of the plot are really fun t9 read about. Even a small town has some undesirable characters.
