A well-written introduction to the many facets of a journalist's everyday work. The author, himself a veteran journalist, offers a lot of practical insider tips and provides various (online and offline) sources for further studies on the subject. The book is rounded out with an overview of universities, journalist schools etc. in German-speaking countries that young professionals or recent graduates with journalistic aspirations are sure to appreciate. If there is one thing wrong with this book (at least in its 16th edition, which was the one I read), it's the confusing formatting. While the different fonts for the examples help to make some of the pages more readable, paragraph alignment and indenting leave much to be desired.
