Easy to read dystopian with romance and action

I found myself immediately loving this book. Something about the world that exists in the story grabbed me. The characters were easy to love. Easy to get mad at a few times. You can feel the emotions the characters have for each other. The banter they have with one another is great, it made me laugh out loud and also gasp when some drama got messy. This was such an interesting read and I'm SO happy I stumbled across it on TikTok.

Olympic War by Blake Gabrielle is now in my top three favorite books. I relate to the main character Moonstone so much and the book helped me get through some of my trauma which the character experienced as well. Besides Moonstone Jasper is probably my favorite character in the book he honestly reminds me of my husband. Jasper understands her trauma, helps her through it and is very protective over her. This book was action packed, intense emotionally and so hard to put down. If you love dystopian novels you better read this book you'll love it.

At first reading the synopsis my initial thought was that this is just like The Hunger Games. I read it and I’m so glad I did, it’s so much more. The emotions of the characters and the growth. I thought I was going to hate Rose and I was starting to dislike Agate. Their inner turmoil was beautifully written and relatable. This is definitely a must if you’re into dystopian sci-fi. Also the way Jasp loves him some Moonstone? Chef’s kiss!

This book was reminiscent of beloved dystopian series such as Hunger Games. With a focus on the love we share with family & friends and what those relationships can help
us endure.

Personally really enjoyed when more of the action picked up in the later half of the book, but the first half focused on overcoming our inner battles before the outer ones.

First in a new series.
Definitely check trigger warnings *

Also , note the mfc is 16yo, at times I struggled with that do to certain parts of the book BUT her age does play a role in the story and the characters feeling & growth.
