I hate to leave such a low rating as the first real review but I thought it was better to be honest than to pad my rating. It's not terrible, there's plenty of typos and skipped words and that's fine since clearly it was probably a little labor of love that didn't really get edited. However, I just thought the story was lacking anything really gripping and the characters were pretty generic. In fact, a lot was pretty generic and bland unfortunately. I wish it were heavier on what it's trying to label itself as, Sci-fi Horror doesn't really accurately describe it because it's pretty light on the Sci-fi and the majority of the book is nearly devoid of any horror. If anything it reads more as a YA Mystery with some supernatural aspects, and that's fine, it just doesn't deliver on what you'd expect. Very tame and pretty predictable. I wish I enjoyed it more because the new cover is really cute.
