Jamie Malton is an American, non-fiction writer. She is the author of Killer Case Files: Jamie Malton’s Best True Crime Series which is an anthology of crime stories where the author examines the homicides perpetrated by murderers and serial killers.
Drawn to the how and why of real crime stories and fascinated by the detailed police work, DNA reconstruction, and genetic genealogy, she started writing her books to share the details of these stories with her readers.
For book research, she splits her time between the USA and European destinations where she often visits some of the places where crimes have occurred.
With criminal apprehension and victim restitution as a personal cause, she donates a portion of her book sales to charities that fund DNA reconstruction to solve cold cases and charities that support the families of murdered victims.
You can reach her at JamieMalton.com where she curates her research into Case Files for her book readers.
This collection of true crime stories was fascinating. Some I'd heard of before but gained new insights based on the author's facts about these serial killer cases. While there were an entire set of cases that I had never heard about before, they made for interesting reading then gave me a desire to follow up and seek out more information about these monsters.
Some of the stories showed just how narcissistic serial killers can be. It wasn't about who their victim was - it was all about what pleasure they could get from assaulting, strangling, and displaying their dead often naked bodies. While most serial killers murder their victims alone in the first book of True Crime Collection, pairs / couples were discussed. One acting as a lure to get girls for their partner. Another helping his brother dismember and dispose of the body parts of the victims for him. Then there were the cousins who were in perfect sync with each other until they weren't.
The biggest problem with a second partner is they know too much and as the heat is turned up on them, they are more inclined to turn in their partners in order to receive a lighter sentence. I found it incomprehensible that they didn't anonymously send word to the police turning in their partner after at least the first or second cold-blooded killing. No thoughts were given to the grieving loved ones who in some instances never found their relatives bodies or found them in horrific conditions.
Jamie Malton showed that women can also be serial killers with the right motivation. While people think of Aileen Wuornos as "the serial killing woman" more exists than people are aware of, even avid true crime fans. I don't like unsolved cases and I guess technically the one reported wasn't unsolved the suspect fled and was never caught.
I really believe you will truly enjoy the first book in this series. I personally look forward to reading the next two once they are released. In the meantime I will read another one of Jamie Malton's true crime books
I really enjoyed all this author's other books but I'm just not into serial killers. There are some minor editing issues here which is whatever. The last "bonus" chapter is worth stars alone. I just get tired of reading about the same killers who have been chronicled in so many books, shows, and podcasts.
This is a great true crime book that contains grisly cases which I have not read about before. Jamie has done a good job of providing enough information about these cases, without going into too much detail and boring you. The cases are presented in an easy to follow way, and often causes a shiver down your spine. Would definitely recommend for any true crime buff.
Found this book interesting. It covers some true crime stories which I never heard of. If you like true crime stories then this is a quick read book for you.
