3.5 stelline

Dopo il primo libro della serie nel quale abbiamo conosciuto la storia di mamma Stella, eccoci ai libri con protagonisti i 5 figli ormai cresciuti.
L'idea che ebbe Atticus a soli 11 anni per salvare il ranch è stata concretizzata e il Crescent Moon è un ranch pensato per i turisti che vogliono vivere un'esperienza diversa. Caspian è lo chef del ristorante, Thad si occupa dei clienti e Soren degli animali. Rafferty è appena tornato in città dopo aver rilevato lo studio dello storico medico di paese e Atticus, dopo aver venduto la sua azienda e aver fatto molti soldi, ha costruito una casa vicino a quella dei suoi genitori e ha intenzione di restare nel Montana. Quello che gli manca è una donna al suo fianco, quando l'ultima fidanzata si è dimostrata più interessata ai suoi soldi.
Nei suoi pensieri è sempre rimasta Annie, la sua migliore amica e figlia di Jenny, colei che aveva distrutto le loro famiglie insieme a Rex, il padre di Atticus.
Sono passati vent'anni e Annie è un'attrice, ma quando qualcuno racconta la storia di sua madre, decide di prendersi un periodo di pausa e tornare nel Montana.

Anche questo volume mi è piaciuto, scrittura davvero scorrevole.
I due protagonisti sono ben caratterizzati, anche se forse gli avvenimenti avvengono un po' troppo velocemente. Capisco che si conoscevano una volta, ma erano solo dei ragazzini e sono passati 20 anni, ne sarà passata di acqua sotto i ponti.
Mi è piaciuto ritrovare tutta la famiglia e scoprire cosa fosse successo agli altri fratelli. Vengono anche introdotte le future compagne dei fratelli.
Libro che senza spicy funziona.
Speriamo traducano anche gli altri libri (l'ultimo deve ancora uscire in inglese).

I love that this book has a dog in it.

So many years have gone by, things have changed for both Atticus and Annie. A life time Of love. Family forgiveness.
And somethings come to light. No one was aware of. The past has a way of coming up.

But Atticus has loved one person since he was a child. Will his life be complete.
Someday. He has the dog only one thing missing. Annie but time will tell.



This is the perfect clean wholesome romance.

Buongiorno care amiche lettrici! 
Sono reduce dalla lettura di "Swoony Moon - Atticus" il secondo volume della serie Crescent Moon Ranch di Tess Thompson (trovate nel blog la recensione del primo libro). Devo essere onesta con voi, ho ancora gli occhi a cuoricino, perché è un romanzo dalle spiccate tonalità rosa, pieno di bellezza e di sentimenti, anche se le difficoltà e i segreti che arrivano dal passato, gettano ancora ombre pesanti sul presente, difficili da accettare, ma che a modo loro sanno offrire delle probabili risposte! Un racconto ambientato in uno sperduto paesino del Montana, pieno di neve e a misura d’uomo, che si trasforma nello scenario perfetto per una storia romantica ma movimentata, attraverso la quale l’autrice si riconferma molto abile nell’alimentare le emozioni, per trasmettere i buoni sentimenti e i valori importanti, quelli che fanno risaltare ciò che è bello e giusto, mentre accarezzano il cuore delle sue lettrici.  Ma se pensate che sia tutto facile per Atticus e per Annie non è così, perché la trama si ingarbuglia e si complica, fino a creare i giusti attriti e i necessari intrecci, che sanno rendere la storia avvincente e interessante, nonostante i desideri di Atticus si rivelino da subito tutt’altro che complicati. Dopo aver esaurito tutte le sue energie alla rincorsa e impegnandosi al massimo per acquisire il benessere economico, necessario per soddisfare il proprio bisogno di sicurezza e l’innato senso di responsabilità, ora sa esattamente cosa vuole!   

"Tutto ciò che volevo per il resto della mia vita era dare attraverso il mio lavoro filantropico e frequentare i miei fratelli e i miei genitori. E innamorarmi. Crescere una famiglia tutta mia con la donna giusta. Dov’era?"

Nel volume autoconclusivo precedente, dedicato a Stella e Jasper, li abbiamo visti affrontare l'inferno, per poi innamorarsi e formare una solida famiglia con i 5 figli di lei, mentre Annie, la piccola della migliore amica di Stella è stata costretta a trasferirsi in Texas insieme al padre. Fin dalla nascita Annie e il suo amico di sempre, Atticus il primogenito di Stella, sono stati talmente uniti e connessi, da desiderare di sposarsi una volta diventati adulti, per ufficializzare quella cerimonia tenera e infantile che li ha visti scambiarsi una promessa e due anelli, il semplice intreccio di fili d’erba.  Ma eventi drammatici li hanno separati, mentre il trascorrere del tempo, la distanza, le varie esperienze e vicissitudini della vita, li hanno definitivamente allontanati, anche se non si sono mai realmente dimenticati l’uno dell’altra.

"I fantasmi dei bambini che eravamo un tempo erano rimasti indietro, bloccati nel tempo? No, erano fissati solo nella mia mente. Soprattutto da quando ero tornato a casa."

Venti anni dopo si ritrovano, quando per colpa di un’intervista, vecchie ferite e ricordi del passato, tornano a galla, pronti a sporcare il loro presente. Ma in questi anni, chi è diventato Atticus, il bambino nerd e secchione, ora battezzato dalla stampa come il Cowboy Miliardario? Chi è invece adesso Annie, la promettente attrice di Hollywood? Sarà la stessa bambina che amava ballare, con la pelle chiara, le efelidi e i capelli rossi? Cosa nascondono sotto i loro rispettivi successi professionali e le loro deludenti relazioni? Una cosa è certa, tutti e due sono ancora in balia di quelle ferite interiori che derivano dai loro trascorsi, che sono talmente profonde da non rimarginarsi mai. Sono quelle paure e quei timori inconsci che si materializzano, suggerendo scelte e comportamenti errati, impedendo loro di fidarsi, di credere ancora, tanto da spingersi alla scelta di compagni sbagliati, quelli che hanno il potere di confermare le paure, toccare i nervi scoperti e mandare all’aria il loro futuro! Quale sarà la formula magica? Chi è o che cosa saprà veicolare una soluzione, diventando il Deus ex Machina capace di invertire i poli e risolvere la situazione? Tenete d’occhio Scout, perché questa volta non è più una torta soffice e dalla crosta perfetta a concentrare su di sé ogni qualità dell’amore, ma è un batuffolo affettuoso che mentre ama incondizionatamente, sa anche indicare la strada verso la felicità! 

"Quell’orribile giorno aveva cambiato tutto, lasciandomi un forte senso di abbandono. [...] Il mio pensiero principale in una relazione? Quando mi lascerà questa persona? "

Atticus oltre a essere ricco, è anche un uomo sicuro di se stesso, positivo, disponibile e protettivo. E’ bellissimo, con due occhi azzurri da infarto e un fisico prestante, ma è soprattutto un vero nerd, amante dell’informatica, dello studio e della lettura, soprattutto dei grandi classici, che ama leggere in ordine alfabetico. Dopo aver frequentato il college, ha sfruttato la sua genialità, impegnandosi all’estremo delle forze per fondare un’azienda e sviluppare una app che poi è riuscito a vendere per una cifra astronomica. Ora è tornato in Montana, nello sperduto paesino di Bluefern, in una casa tutta sua, ma vicino a quella dei genitori e al Crescent Moon Ranch, che è stato trasformato negli anni in una struttura turistica, con bungalow, un ristorante e un maneggio a disposizione degli ospiti. La gestione è a carico dei fratelli Moon, Thad, Soren e Caspian, ognuno nel ruolo che più gli si addice, in base al loro carattere e alle loro predisposizioni, tranne per il secondogenito Rafferty, che invece ha intrapreso una strada del tutto diversa.

Uno dei miei più grandi rimpianti era che avevamo perso i contatti da adolescenti. Rivederlo sarebbe stato imbarazzante o saremmo tornati alla dolce amicizia di un tempo?

Ed è proprio al Crescent Moon Ranch che Annie, ora una promettente attrice di Hollywood, decide di rifugiarsi, per trovare un po’ di pace dopo l’ondata mediatica che l’ha travolta, facendola ripiombare in un incubo, riportando alla ribalta quello stesso e drammatico episodio che ha gettato vent’anni prima la sua famiglia e quella di Atticus nell’inferno. Grazie al loro ritorno in Montana, Atticus e Annie si sono ritrovati, mentre il sentimento reciproco che li ha da sempre legati in maniera così forte, profonda e ineluttabile, fin da bambini, riprende vita, trasformandosi in un qualcosa di più adulto e tenace. Ma i dubbi sono tanti, così come le difficoltà dovute anche alle diverse esistenze che conducono e nulla sembra facile per i due protagonisti. Ma una volta dissolte le nebbie del passato e del presente, ciò che resta, è esattamente quello per cui vale davvero la pena impegnarsi e vivere, mentre tutto il resto perde di consistenza e viene superato. Il tempo è vita, pertanto deve essere dedicato a ciò che rende autenticamente felici. Ed è proprio questo il messaggio che occhieggia e che fa la sua comparsa tra le righe, lungo il percorso narrativo, soprattutto all'ultimo, nel momento in cui il racconto esprime e racchiude la sua vera essenza.  La figura di Atticus, la sua positività, la sua determinazione, il suo esserci sempre e comunque, lo rende un personaggio solido e resiliente, l’uomo che tutte vorremmo avere accanto nei momenti più difficili, esattamente come lo è stato Jason per Stella. I buoni insegnamenti e l’amore ricevuto diventano quelle fondamenta che sanno dare sicurezza e trasformare le persone e Atticus ne è l’esempio concreto, come in realtà lo sono tutti i fratelli Moore che già da queste prime pagine, dimostrano la loro essenza. Che dire? Una storia d’amore adorabile, ricca di sentimento e romanticismo che sa conquistare!  

"Il profumo di casa. Durante gli anni di lontananza, non avevo dimenticato l’odore di questi posti: fumo di legna e aghi di pino in inverno, fiori di campo ed erba tagliata in primavera e in estate. Il vasto cielo e le montagne spettacolari in lontananza erano rimasti per sempre impressi nella mia anima."

"Swoony Moon - Atticus" è scorrevole, grazie allo stile narrativo della Thompson che appare sicuro e dinamico, pieno di delicatezza e ricco di valori e messaggi importanti. La traduzione è pregevole e accurata pertanto consente di immergersi con piacere nella lettura, senza avvertire difficoltà. Un racconto che permette di avere uno scorcio natalizio di un paesaggio innevato che trasporta in atmosfere tradizionali e familiari molto piacevoli, soprattutto in questo periodo dell’anno caratterizzato da un caldo insopportabile. Ho adorato Scout e (lascio a voi scoprire chi è), e mi sono piaciute le ambientazioni, soprattutto le case in mezzo alla natura, in realtà baite fatte di legno e pietra e dalle grandi finestre, ma dotate di ogni tipo di comfort. Evidentemente tutti i Moon hanno “ereditato” dal loro padre adottivo la passione per il fai da te, la ristrutturazione e l’arredo. Mi ha fatto piacere ritrovare Stella e Jason, così come i fratelli al gran completo, ora diventati adulti, che hanno offerto un assaggio sulle loro vite e le loro distinte personalità, informazioni indispensabili per poter cedere il passo ai volumi successivi a loro dedicati. Ho sentito però la mancanza della parte “attrattiva” tra Atticus e Annie, che mi avrebbe permesso di vivere con più trasporto l’evoluzione del loro sentimento, inoltre le dinamiche esterne alla coppia e dei vari personaggi, pur arricchendo il racconto, hanno un po’ sopraffatto la storia d’amore, anche se nel finale si è conquistata i suoi spazi, diventando finalmente la protagonista assoluta, tanto da strapparmi l’immancabile lacrimuccia e gli occhi a cuoricino. 

"La stampa poteva parlare quanto voleva del Cowboy Miliardario e dell’attrice. Eravamo una squadra. Nessuno poteva farci del male ora." 

Un romanzo delicato e sentimentale, ma dalle tante sfumature che nel complesso mi è piaciuto e mi ha emozionata. Mi ha anche incuriosita la scelta del nome Atticus, in abbinamento a quello di Scout. Nel romanzo esiste la spiegazione che non vi anticipo, ma che prima di arrivare al punto in cui l’autrice lo ricorda, ero già andata a cercare per conto mio, scoprendo anche l'origine del nome stesso, che in Italia non è così comune come nei paesi anglosassoni. La parola "atticus" significa “appartenente all’Attica”, regione della Grecia antica nota per la sua cultura e la filosofia greca, pertanto Atticus era utilizzato come aggettivo per indicare persone con un profondo interesse verso queste discipline.  Ancora tutt’oggi ha conservato la connotazione di persona colta e intellettuale e Atticus, il protagonista del romanzo è veramente così, senza contare che grazie a quello che scoprirete, il suo nome è diventato anche sinonimo di integrità morale e la difesa dei diritti umani. Bentornati al Crescent Moon Ranch.

Sono passati 20 anni ormai dagli avvenimenti del primo libro. La famiglia Moon ha trovato un ottimo equilibrio grazie al duro lavoro di Stella e Jasper e ora vivremo insieme le storie dei cinque fratelli Moon.

Atticus, il più grande dei fratelli ha sempre avuto come pensiero principale la famiglia e il suo sostentamento. Certo da quando suo padre Jasper è entrato nella loro vita come un dono dal cielo, la sua famiglia non aveva più bisogno che lui si facesse carico di tutto.

Ciò però non ha cambiato i piani del giovane Atticus.

Per anni ha lavorato sodo grazie alle sue conoscenze in campo informatico e ora è tornato a casa per rimanerci.
Vent'anni sono volati, ma Atticus e Annie si portano dentro un enorme ferita comune.

Annie ha bisogno di tornare a casa per elaborare quella tragedia che giornalmente la tortura. Quando si imbatte nel suo migliore amico non sembra essere passato neanche un giorno dalla loro ultima lettera.

Subito tra Atticus e Annie si riaccende quella scintilla che tanti anni prima li faceva vivere quasi in simbiosi.

Ho apprezzato molto come i nostri protagonisti sono stati capaci di recuperare la loro profonda amicizia nonostante i tanti anni passati separati.

Al momento della tragedia Atticus e Annie erano gli unici a poter capire fino in fondo cosa stava succedendo e questo li ha segnati nel profondo.

Ho amato come solo aiutandosi a vicenda potessero guarire finalmente.

Atticus è il re della comunicazione. Non lascia nulla di non detto, anche quando le parole potrebbero peggiorare la situazione.

Annie è in un periodo molto fragile della sua vita che si divide appunto tra il lavoro come star del cinema emergente e la tragedia familiare che è tornata a galla per andare in pasto ai giornalisti. Trovo che Annie sia stata caratterizzata benissimo, tutte le sue fragilità e insicurezze sono state descritte benissimo facendomi sentire in pena per lei.

Atticus si era ripromesso che un giorno Annie sarebbe stata sua moglie, la distanza avrà cancellato questo desiderio? Dopo così tanti anni i nostri protagonisti saranno ancora gli stessi? Questo lo faccio scoprire a voi.
Trovo che Tess sia bravissima a creare l'atmosfera. Siamo di nuovo in Montana nel periodo natalizio e questo è un grandissimo punto a favore, l'autrice riesce sempre a mostrarci un lato nuovo del piccolo paese originario dei nostri protagonisti.

Ora che tutti i fratelli Moon sono cresciuti e che gli ami sono stati gettati non vedo l'ora di scoprire le storie di tutti gli altri figli di Stella.

Ho apprezzato moltissimo rivedere Stella e Jasper in questo nuovo volume, è stato proprio come tornare a casa per le feste.
In conclusione vi rassicuro sul fatto che ogni volume è autoconclusivo.

Personalmente però prima di leggere questo volume vi consiglio di leggere la Storia di Stella, in modo da conoscere tutta la storia e capire fino in fondo i meccanismi della storia.

Swoony Moon was just the book we needed as the second in the Crescent Moon Ranch series by always fabulous author Tess Thompson. Mama Moon, the first book in the series, left us feeling warm and fuzzy and smiling, except for one little thing: Annie Armstrong and her father Mark left Bluefern, Montana after Jennie Armstrong’s betrayal and death. It was the right decision. They couldn’t have survived the scandal and the gossip, the stares. But Atticus Moon and Annie had been best friends literally forever; they had decided by the age of eleven that it was only natural they would always be together, they would someday marry.

Life was good for the Moon family in the following years. Jasper Moon coming into their lives was a godsend. The five Moon boys thrived now with two loving parents and a warm, comfortable, supportive environment. Mama Stella had always worked desperately to provide for her boys and to show them they were loved, and with Jasper now by her side life was so sweet. Life was good for Annie, too. Her father remarried a wonderful woman and she loved and was loved by her stepmother and stepsisters. She realized her dream of becoming a big Hollywood star.

But there’s still a ‘what-if?’ lingering there. Twenty years have passed. Atticus and Annie lost touch as they grew up and now there is just an occasional text, if that. How might things have worked out between them if not for the tragedy, the move, for life? Well, they just might find out, since Annie returns to Bluefern after her life in Hollywood becomes a catastrophic, humiliating disaster. She’s not thinking about romance, but about safety and comfort, to get back if she can some of that belonging she always felt with Stella and her boys, and to look at her past and her mother’s devastating actions head on. As it happens, Atticus has recently returned to Crescent Moon Ranch as well. His big success in the tech world has allowed him to finally come home and be there for his family if they need him.

The other Moon boys - Caspian, Rafferty, Soren, and Thad – have grown up into the men their child personalities hinted they would be. They are still close and the entire family welcomes Annie with love and open arms and help her work through the past as much as they can. Especially Atticus. He hasn’t forgotten Annie any more than she has forgotten him. There is definitely a spark there.

But just how can that work? They’re not children anymore, they are adults with adult history, lives and careers. She lives in Hollywood. He’s come back to Montana to escape that insane pace. Leave it to author Thompson to figure that out for us. Atticus was the sweetest little boy and is the sweetest man. Annie is . . . just Annie. How can you know her and not love her? Not want to be in her orbit? The good boys are now good men. Some with stronger personalities than the others, but all unique and interesting – and hopefully each of them will be the subject of another book in the series. Jasper and Stella are as magical together as ever.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of Swoony Moon as part of her review team. It was the perfect place to pick up again with these wonderful characters, so sweet, so enjoyable, so satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope for an addition to the series soon. I leave this review voluntarily; all opinions are my own.

Ritorniamo in Montana, al Moon Ranch, con la prima storia dei fratelli Moon: sono passati infatti diversi anni, e ognuno di loro ha oramai una professione e una propria vita.
Il Ranch, sotto la guida di Stella e Jasper, si è sviluppato come attività di soggiorno, e la famiglia è sempre molto unita.
Atticus era il nerd tra tutti i fratelli, quello che voleva avere successo per poter poi aiutare economicamente la sua famiglia, ma era anche quello che aveva sofferto maggiormente per le cattiverie e poi la tragica morte di suo padre.
Ha fatto fortuna con un software di sua invenzione, e ha deciso di tornare a casa, per aiutare sua madre e prendersi cura della sua famiglia; quella famiglia di cui faceva parte anche Annie, la figlia della migliore amica di sua madre.
E proprio Annie ritorna al Ranch, in cerca di un po' di serenità, lei che è un’attrice di successo e inseguita dai paparazzi.


«Uno dei miei più grandi rimpianti era che avevamo perso i contatti da adolescenti. Rivederlo sarebbe stato imbarazzante o saremmo tronati alla dolce amicizia di un tempo?»

Atticus è uno di quegli uomini solidi, a cui i soldi non interessano e che in un primo momento non crede che quella cotta da ragazzi possa davvero esserci ancora tra loro: il loro non è qualcosa di perduto ma di familiare, che torna come un dono e che entrambi accettano.

«Era impossibile parcellizzare gli elementi del proprio passato ed essere grati per alcuni e non per altri. Tutto funzionava insieme, il bene e il male.»

La tragedia che li ha colpiti da ragazzi e che torna nelle loro vite servirà a entrambi per darsi le risposte per andare avanti, uscire insieme da quel cerchio dove entrambi, e per motivi diversi sono stati fino a quel momento.
Annie è molto legata a tutta la famiglia e proprio grazie ai fratelli Moon capirà le scelte da fare; ben inserite anche le altre figure femminili che si intravedono per le storie successive, e che interagiscono, nella socialità tipica di queste comunità.
La parte “hot” è del tutto assente, e rientra nella storia che si sofferma su aspetti diversi, legati ai diversi legami e sentimenti dei vari personaggi, non solo dei protagonisti.

Swoons Moon brought the Crescent Moon book 1 full circle. I loved the book, but I wouldn’t advise reading as a stand alone as Mama Moon is the foundation for book 2.

Atticus has loved Annie Armstrong since he was a child, they married their selves at 9 years old. They knew it was real but they were best friends, they did everything together. Then a terrible tragedy tour their families apart, for 2 decades they never saw each other again. But when a reporter uncovers the horrid details and corners Annie on live set her world is shattered. Annie had made a name for herself in the movie world, a well known actress , now in one interview her world is crashing around her so she goes to the one place she feels safe , home to Atticus.

Atticus Moon was a nerd , but a rich nerd . He always knew from a young age as his father had left his mother and 4 brothers that one day he’d be rich , they’d never go without again. His world was complete, he was a billionaire, came back home to Crescent Moon , had everything he set out to get but a part of him was missing. When one day he was walking his dogs scout when suddenly Scout took off running towards someone on the cabin steps. Atticus couldn’t believe his eyes, was it Annie had she finally come home after 20 years?

Together Annie and Atticus will learn the truth about how her mother and his father could of destroyed their lives in a horrible murder-suicide that will hang over them once again and destroy their lives again if they let it.

Mi è piaciuto ritrovare tutta la famiglia e vedere cosa avessero combinato nella loro vita. Mi è piaciuto che sono state anche già introdotte le future compagne dei vari fratelli.
La storia tra Atticus e Annie forse è troppo affrettata perchè alla fine sono 20 anni che non si vedono e quindi ci vorrebbe qualche momenti di più prima di dichiarare sentimenti molto profondi.
Libro senza scene hot, solo qualche bacio, il resto è tutto d'immaginazione.
Approvato, continuerò con la serie.

Retiring after his sold his company and planning to help support his family, but the Crescent Moon dude ranch has done well and refuses any support. Atticus still has bad memories from when he was 11 years old and his father Rex left them again for his mother’s BBF. The only good childhood memories are of his brothers and his BBF Annie Armstrong, who’s mother was Rex lover. Now Annie has also returned, bringing back memories of the good times. Like getting married at 9 years old and then promising to get married when they grow up. But after what happened she moved to Texas and never kept in touch. Can the feelings Atticus had as a child still exist as a adult?
Anna dreams of being an actress has come true, the the public life isn’t easy. Especially when your fiancé is all over social media with another women in his bed. She runs away to the one place she ever felt safe, but also has haunted her. She decided it time to get some answers to why her mother wanted to left her and her father. And then there is Atticus her 1st love and still such a good guy.
Love the way the story continues, can’t wait to read the next book.

I loved this book. The story was a great sequel to the first, so I wouldn't be doing it any justice without saying that you NEED to read the first one. You will love this one even more.

Now the kids are all grown. Annie, a movie star. Atticus, a major tech wiz. Both still struggle with the tragedy and abandonment from their past. Annie and Atticus are meant to be. Both back together, they help each other to heal and move forward. Together. Well, with a little help from Scout!
Oh, Scout!

This was a story of loss and pain that turned into a story of love and forgiveness. It's written amazingly well, as Tess never fails to do. It's another great story to add to an already great series. I can't wait for more.

If it weren’t for the pre-marital relationships that plagued the characters, this would be a five star book.

The characters were good. The scenario was engaging. I really enjoyed the book, up until pre-marital relations became commonplace. Pre-marital relations first appeared in the leading man’s thoughts about prior relationships and then, just after the leading couple officially start their dating relationship, it is becomes a reoccurring event. At no point do they give any indication that this is wrong or against their (supposedly) Christian faith. What floored me even more is when the leading lady, who’s been sleeping with the guy for many nights, is disturbed when the idea of marriage is presented and thinks it’s too soon.

In addition to all that, the premarital relations add absolutely nothing to the story or characters. This story would have still worked without them and been much better. It’s hard to believe the leading man is such a great guy of integrity when he’s happy to jump in bed before making a commitment to her. This event totally ruined the story and the author for me. I should have realized it was coming with the hint of premarital relations between the leading couple in the previous book, but I had hoped I was just misunderstanding the author.

Can Atticus and Annie find love the second time around? They both had heartbreak and Annie was taken away from Bluefern, Montana by her father. Her mother betraying her and her father as well as her best friend and his mother….Trying at first to stay in touch it was easy to just forget….Atticus is a millionaire now and has returned home, but Crecent Moon ranch is doing nicely anyway. But now Annie a Hollywood star has fallen from fame and is broken after being publicly betrayed by her fiancé , plastered all over social media with another woman in his bed.. Back in Bluefern shes seeking out Atticus’ he was always her best friend , she needs to hide away from the humiliation and she’s hurting. Can the two friends who made a pact at nine years of age to marry, get their happy ever after he’s her first love and he’s often wondered what would or could have happened if only…. Annie also wants to find out answers to why her mother did what she did. This is awesome a great follow on from Mama Moon . Swoony Moon

I absolutely love this new series by Tess Thompson. It started with Mama Moon and her 5 little boys who you instantly fall in love with. The special relationship that the oldest boy has with the daughter of his Moms best friend is simply the best. When tragedy strikes and the two are pulled apart, your heart breaks for them.
Now in Swoony Moon they reunite and you just hope it all works out. What I really like about this story is how close the Moon family is and how they show Annie that she was and will always be a part of their family no matter what. I also love how Tess shows us that people can go on and live their lives completely away from each other but when it’s meant to be, you find your way back to each other. This is a love story for the ages and I can’t wait to find out what happens with the rest of their story.
I recommend this book and this series to anyone who likes a good love story and for anyone who needs to see that hard times happen but true love always wins in the end.

I love the Moon family, and I am beyond happy to see Atticus and Annie get their happy ending.

Sweet and wholesome story. Well written and interesting all the way through to the end.

I loved Atticus in the first book, and now that he got his own book, I am certain that he is one of my favorite characters ever. He's still sweet and genuine. He takes care of his family and has a good heart. Getting to see him find his person was a treat.

Annie is a sweetheart, I just wish she could've made her decision without breaking his heart beforehand. I am over the moon that she chose to take a leap of faith. She may not ever completely heal, but I know in my heart Atticus Moon will never let her down because I know he means it when he says he's not the leaving kind.

I was happy to see that Mark was able to rebuild his life after the heartbreaking tragedy he had to endure. That poor man deserved nothing less.

I'm definitely glad I won the first book in this series! I can't wait to continue reading all about the Moon family. ❤️

I really enjoyed this book. Both Atticus and Annie were traumatized by what happened in their childhood and now that it has been brought to light, she is heading home to find closure. While one can never truly move past what happened I found it realistic and organic.
The characters did move fast in the sense that they have just reconnected after years apart, but they always had a connection that ran deep. As for the premarital relationship that occurs, I don’t feel like it ruined the story. I believe you can be religious and believe in a higher power, but not remain celibate before marriage. Also, the interaction isn’t discussed in great detail.
This book was fabulous and I can’t wait to see what happens with his brothers. I wish there would have been more closure/more interaction with her dad, especially after she decided to try with Atticus. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

We are in book two of the Crescent Moon series. Read book 1 first as it provides some great background that makes this book all the better.
After tragedy and betrayal pulls two families apart, it also causes Atticus and Annie to slowly lose touch as Annie and her father leave Montana to try and start fresh. As each eventually goes their separate ways, their paths cross again as Annie tries to escape a bad break up by going to the one place she feels safe, Crescent Moon Ranch. Also the home of Atticus, her childhood sweetheart.
As Atticus and Annie (and the rest of the Moon family) learn to reconnect, the old feelings begin to surface. Each must be willing to deal with the past of the other and the cost it will have on their future. But, in true Tess Thompson storytelling, the couple finds a happy medium and a happily ever after.
You will enjoy this book. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you Tess.

A life in the spotlight can be tough for the strongest celebrity. When a celebrity has a buried secret from their past, that has to be ever harder.

The original cast from the first book in this series, Mama Moon, is back, only 20 years have gone by. Annie is now a Hollywood actress, and when her secret is exposed she goes home for the first time since then. The boys are all adults with various careers, and Mama Moon herself is still thriving.

Swoony Moon is another fantastic read by Tess Thompson. I loved the adult versions of the kids from the previous book, and seeing how they interacted with their long last friend was really nice. Of course, then there’s the connection that Annie and Atticus had - will that be able to be rekindled? You’ll have to read to find out!

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the second book in the Crescent Moon Ranch Series. The first book was Mama Moon. This book, Swoony Moon follows two characters, Atticus Moon and Annie Armstrong, who were children in Mama Moon and who are now adults. Their lives had crossed due to a terrible tragedy in Mama Moon. They had promised to keep in touch and had for a while, but then lost contact. When Annie returns to Crescent Moon Ranch 20 years later, she reconnects with Atticus and this becomes a lovely love story.

This is a well written continuation of a great family saga. The characters are extremely believable and easy to love. The story line is like a roller coaster with the many issues the characters have. A truly decent book that you won’t want to put down.

I fell in love with the Moon boys in the introductory book in this series, Mama Moon. I had a special soft spot for Atticus and Annie. Even as children, you knew that they shared the same soul and were destined for each other. But of course, fate had to step in and make a temporary mess of things. Sure, it's been a long time since they have seen each other. They are opposites in a lot of ways. But they are also perfect for each other in so many ways. I mean, where did Annie turn when she needed help? She knows that Atticus is her home.

Swoony Moon definitely lives up to its name as this twosome figures out who they are now - both apart and together - and fall in love all over again. It's going to be hard for one of the other brothers to top this one for me! But we shall see. I'm looking forward to all of them finding their happily ever after.

The second book in this series takes us back to Crescent Moon Ranch, 20 years after the first story. All 5 boys are grown up & along with mom Stella & pop Jason have turned Crescent Moon into a dude ranch. Oldest son Atticus has just moved back to Montana & built his own home on the property after selling his very successful tech business. His childhood best friend Annie is now an accomplished actress, but a PR mess drives her back home to Montana for the first time in 20 years. These two were soul mates as kids. Can they overcome their terrible shared past & find that connection again as adults? I think we all know the answer, but how the story unfolds in Tess Thompson’s skilled words makes for a truly delightful read. Absolutely a 5 star book!

Annie and her father moved to be with his parents and she moved on to a career in acting. Then her boyfriend cheated on her. And she finds herself having her past pulled up to be shared with the world in an interview. She runs back to the place that was most like home. Back to the Moon family. She and Atticus reconnect. But there are many things she needs to deal with before she thinks she can have any sort of relationship. Atticus is willing to wait but can he help Annie realize they are better together than apart. A very interesting story. And a great family that came out of a less than good situation all those years ago.

Swoony Moon was a sweet clean closed door romance. Our two adorable main characters were childhood friends whose lives were intertwined. As we learned in the first book, a betrayal and tragedy shatters their families, they were separated and drifted apart.
When Annie returns to Bluefern as an adult decades later she’s uncertain if she will be welcomed by the Moon family. Annie and Atticus are drawn together and the connection they have is undeniable. Ultimately, this well-written story is about family, love and healing. I look forward to reading more of the Moon family in coming installments.

When Annie was eleven her mother had an affair with her best friend’s husband, but on the day they were planning to leave she killed him and then herself.
Years later as her acting career was really taking off, the story resurfaced.
Atticus was her best friend as a child and also the son of the man her mother had murdered. Now he has just sold his software company for a ridiculous amount and moved back to Montana to be with his family who run a successful dude ranch.
She heads back to Montana and prays that trouble doesn’t follow.
