Christmas Promise by Violet Howe
Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge series #16. Multiple author series. Holiday romance. Family oriented. Older heroes. Second chance troupe. Closed door. Can be read as a stand-alone but better is having read at least the books in the series by this author as they include the same characters for the most part.
Lindsey puts in an offer on a condo in Granite Ridge. Her life has changed so much since discovering that she and Maddie are sisters (Book 14). She never knew how much family would matter to her. In the midst of setting up a charity, she reconnects with Armando, her best friend from high school. Lindsey distanced herself from Armando after high school, for several reasons, but she’s never forgotten him. Both are single and their separate friends and family think there may be a spark there. Is she ready this time around?
Decisions are hard. Especially if they could be life changing. Lindsey has accepted her life and is loving the recent changes to family. But is she ready to fully open her heart?
It’s an emotional story but this time around Lindsey has the family support and examples that show how rewarding love can be.
Endearing.

Christmas Promise by Violet Howe is a beautiful addition to the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge series. It is a friends to lovers and second-chance romance with a little dash of the holiday season.
This story follows Lindsey, Maddie’s sister who we met in Christmas Secret. Lindsey has always been focused on success and has given up much along the way to obtain it. She is pretty happy with her life, but ready to enjoy being close to her new family. The only sacrifice she ever made that she regrets strolls back into her life as she embarks on a new adventure, giving her a chance to have all she ever wanted!
I liked Lindsey in Christmas Secret and was so very happy for her to get a story. I just adore her relationship with Maddie and Robert and loved that they were on the page a good deal.
This is a good series that is a go to around the holidays.

If you enjoy a heartwarming holiday read with a second chance at love then you can't go wrong with Christmas Promise. I especially liked the small town setting and that our main characters were older. Everyone gets a happily ever after in a Violet Howe romance! This book left me full of Christmas joy. It can be read as a standalone or within the set. I would suggest checking out her other books in the series if you want a better understanding of the side characters you'll meet.

Christmas Promise by Violet Howe is such a heart-warming new book in the Soul Sisters at Cedar Mountain Lodge. I am extraordinarily blessed to be able to read and review the three new books this year that continue the Soul Sisters lives. I have loved this series since it started and was originally chosen to read all of the books that were originally released. I'm now worried that it won't seem like Christmas without a visit to Cedar Mountain and a visit with the family of Soul Sisters.
This book is about Lindsey, who if you remember, is Maddy's sister. They did not meet each other until late in life. It was a secret that both of their mother's kept. In this book they continue their story. Lindsey learns that a life of solitude and all work is not as important as family. She is changing her priorities in life when she crosses paths with a high-school best friend turned sweetheart that she pushed away years ago.
I loved this book and the characters. I love seeing Maddy and Lindsey share sister time and doing things that they didn't get a chance to do growing up. I love how this family of soul sisters come together to help each other out and really form a support group for each other. Two of the sisters are just mentioned in these three books. They no longer live in Granite Ridge.
There are so many different kinds of love in these books. We all need that at Christmas time and if you don't have that in your own family, these books will give you a little taste of that and warm your heart. So, if you love sisterly and familial love, later in life love and have a love for small towns then this series of books are for you. If you haven't started them yet and love a good long series, this one is currently at eighteen books. The first one is Christmas Sisters and is still a free download. Lindsey, after meeting her sister Maddie, decided she wanted to spend more time with Maddie and her nieces. She bought a condo, one building down from her sister. She thought she would just be coming down for weekends, but she and her friend, Marissa, had a dream of creating Sunset Paws. They thought it would be a long time before it happened, but when she got to Granite Ridge, she told a few people about the dream of creating Sunset Paws. She was offered the funding, and they would buy a building to get it off the ground.
Lindsey wasn't sure she wanted to accept the offer, but Maddie and her husband said she should think about it. She decided she needed signs, to know what she should do, and boy did she get signs. She and Marissa were going to take part in the Winterfest Season of Giving Fundraiser. Lindsey met Marissa's father, Mondo, there, to discover her father was her best friend in high school, but they hadn't seen each other since college.
Lindsey asked Mondo, do you ever wish we'd had more time? That we had found each other again sooner? He said he would always wish for more time, even if they were granted another hundred years. But we found each other at the right place, right time. It worked out exactly as it was supposed to, That was another sign and that love that has been in the entire series.

Lindsey is partnering with Marissa in a new charity to help senior rescue pets find good homes. Then she meets Marissa's dad Mondo who had been Lindsey's best friend in high school. Mondo is thrilled to reconnect with her and they start spending time together, but when a surprise revelation comes up will it tear them apart again? Read the series in order, and then you will see!
The pace is engrossing and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with a character centered storyline that has a few kisses only. The characters are vivid and endearing. I love the premise of a charity to help senior rescue pets find homes. This is a special book that reminds us of this need. Enjoy!

Loved it!
The entire soul sisters series is wonderful. There is so much depth to each of the characters. I do recommend reading the series in order, starting with Christmas Sisters where Maddie brings home 4 foster girls at Christmas and they become a family. Each book follows Maddie or one of the foster girls as they grow up and have their own families. This book is about Lindsay, Maddie's unexpected sister, and her second chance at love with her best childhood friend.

A Very Good Book
This book was very informative. The characters were loving and kind. The book had many twists and turns. The romance was very awesome. The love ❤️ 😍 for family and friends was so great. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.

This is an excellent series but each book can stand alone. I just love reading this amazing book and see the development of the characters. Love the endings too!

You need to read Christmas Secret before this one. This is more Lindsey's story but does include a lot of Maddie, Robert and family. Lindsey is looking to move closer to Maddie and set up a rescue for older dogs. My favorite line by Maddie "I'm drinking with her for solidarity' lol. Lindsey reconnects with an old flame Mondo but thinks he is still married when on a date and she runs. Really? I really don't like when this happens. Thankfully, of course, it works out.
