Hiro, aidé par les Yojimbots, des robots samouraïs, échappe par miracle aux attaques successives du cruel Topu et de ses drones. Malgré une situation désespérée, le jeune garçon est déterminé à connaître la vérité sur le sort de sa famille. Hiro se rend compte que les croyances qui étaient les siennes jusqu'à alors ne sont que des mensonges tissés par ce mystérieux organisme qui cherche justement à le capturer. Malheureusement, piégé par Topu, et ne devant sa survie qu'au sacrifice d'un des Yojimbots, il fait alors face à un nouveau type de robot particulièrement redoutable. Celui-ci pourrait être la clé des questions que se pose Hiro...

Postapocalyptic story from Japan. On the island that was designed as theme park, you boy is running from soldiers that are hunting him down because of his origin. On the the way he meets few yojimbo ts - samurai robots that were serving in various roles in the theme park and they help him out on the way.

The story is little bit chaotic, because you are thrown right into the middle of the action, and over the first three albums you will put together pieces and start to understand what is going on. There is still quite a lot missing so we will need wait for another volume(s).

What really brings these books on another level is Sylvain's art. Vivid, colorful art is bringing postapocalyptic Japan back to live. Great action sequences, where a lot is happening, but whole thing is not chaotic and still easy to follow. Very nice robot designs and sceneries. These books deserve oversized treatment so you can truly enjoy the art (hope there will be some complete collection in English once)

Sur cette île parc d'attraction au thème japonais abandonnée, le jeune Hiro se trouve de nouveaux robots samouraïs qui lui seront bien utiles pour affronter ceux qui le traquent...

2e tome de la série aux dessins incroyables de @sylvain_repos, et maintenant que le dernier tome est sorti il faut vraiment que je lise la suite!

A solid volume 2 to this robot samurai story. It took me a minute to remember vol.1 but I quickly did. Hiro and his robot friends are determined to leave the the secretive island that they are trapped on. Hiro has special lineage that will yield power that some nasty off island people want to control. Hiro's dad is long dead since vol 1 but where is his mom? well volume two gives us that answer and it was a highlight of the book. She is a bad ass and a great addition to the series. After an explosive ending on the island we are left with a major cliffhanger on what happened to poor Hiro after a major fight. Art remains a selling point with vivid use of colors and beautiful panels of this lush island.

Pour un bouquin aussi épais, je m’attendais à plus de contenu. L’univers se développe lentement, et on comprend un peu mieux de quoi il retourne, mais ça n’avance quand même pas très vite. Le dessin, très assuré, est dynamique et coloré, mais il passe un peu trop de temps à se trouver beau, et le découpage n’est pas toujours clair dans les séquences d’action. Un monde néanmoins fascinant et inspiré, mais qui se laisse un peu trop désirer.

Moins fan de ce 2ème tome, je trouve qu’on perd l’essence du premier…

On se retrouve 5mois plus tard, y’a un nouveau personnage super important qui débarque, un peu la clef de tout le micmac actuel sauf que j’ai l’impression que l’auteur a été dépassé par son envie de TOUT mettre dans le livre ?

Ça va un peu dans tout les sens, le rythme n’est plus aussi bon que le 1 et je trouve que y’a plein de trucs qui sont mal accordés ou pas nécessaires….

A bit less action this time, but more of an adventure as we get to explore the world of Yojimbot! A robot 'market' hub, some cool buildings, and then a few shots towards the end of the group's adventure to "Tower 4" and the different locales they pass through. We also get more robot supporting characters, which are cool as heck.

J'avais commencé cette série par le tome 2 a sa sortie, sans le savoir. Effectivement c'est plus clair en commençant par le début ! ^^
Le dessin est fou, l'histoire est géniale, j'adore le concept de robots amicaux déjà ! Et les infos distillées au fur et à mesure sur la vie dans le terminal, est bien gérée, management du suspens.
J'aime vraiment beaucoup cette série. Hâte de lire la suite.

Un Tome 2 bien meilleur que le premier ce qui est assez rare (selon mon opinion personnelle). Le dessin n'a rien perdu en qualité par apport au précédent volume et je dirais qu'il s'est amélioré. Les couleurs sont magnifiques sur ce papier issu de forêts gérées durablement. Le "storytelling" s'améliore constamment. Vivement la sortie du Tome 3

An excellent sequel to the opening volume. We pick up the story a couple of months after the end of vol 1. The story has some downtime, bonding moments against the action scenes. We also get more revelations without revealing everything.

The artwork is still solid with clean linework, bright colours and great page layouts. The entire thing has a dynamic cinematic feel to it.

A full 4 stars.

I feel like I'm missing something, there is a prequel to this series. However I'm still interested.

The art and coloring is awesome, the story seems to be missing key elements yet engaging. I am hoping i can find the whole series. They are trickling in slow on hoopla.
