Salem and his new pal Roscoe are caught fishing in a neighbor's pond and Salem's forced to wear a collar with a bell as punishment. Still, Salem and Roscoe love to fish and set their sights on the fish Sabrina brought home from school for the weekend. When the fish a piranha -- attacks and makes off with the collar, Sabrina and her aunt assume the worst and prepare for Salem's funeral. Salem, in turn, prepares his revenge!
Salem meets a new friend while hunting for fish near a restaurant, an alley cat named Roscoe. They form a plan to team up and share the loot. But even by working together, they find out not all fish are on a cat’s menu. Humiliated and hungry for both fish and revenge, Salem can’t believe his luck when Sabrina brings home a big fish from school. Unfortunately, that fish is a piranha.
For a story about Salem, there’s quite a lot of focus on Salem’s new partner in crime in the first half and Sabrina and her aunts in the second half. In my opinion the story would have been better served with more focus on Salem and the plot at hand. Even without it though, this cute short story manages to deliver with some cool and cute scenes that make me a bit nostalgic.
