I can’t have this grumpy silver fox and my life is in tatters, a total lie.So two opposites can make it all right, right?I am not a silly little girl anymore. So I demand a fake kiss to prove a point and my fox leaves me breathless. My brother’s best friend is way more than I bargained for. This damaged, rugged Adonis is starting to chill. Our endless hours at work begin to thaw his icy coldness. And the lines between pretense and reality begin to blur. Playing mommy if he is the daddy is proving irresistible. Especially being the nanny of his cute daughter when she calls out my name. I have woven an illusion of lies, but it’s becoming too real. My secret just can’t come out. It’s unthinkable what he could do if he knew.
A Love That Was Meant to Be - Layna had always seen Marcus as her older brother’s best friend, but her feelings changed the moment she kissed him as part of her act to deceive her friends. Marcus was still grieving the loss of his wife, which made him only have short-term dalliances, but a spark ignited in him the moment Layna kissed him. Their intense attraction for each other grew as they worked together and the kisses that were meant to be fake started feeling real.
However, Layna had a long-term plan that didn’t include a relationship with Marcus and this caused him to take a step back when he started developing feeling for her and this broke her heart. Fortunately, they both realised they couldn’t live without each other before it was too late and decided to take a chance on a forever happiness. This is a wholesome romance story, with enough drama and chemistry to make it a fascinating read and an amazing page turner. This is my first time reading a book from this author and I was definitely impressed.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
