I never wanted to lead.

But when my father, Don of the Caruso crime family, is murdered three months after my older brother's death, what I want doesn't matter.

Family comes first.

Especially when the same man who killed my father has taken my younger sister captive.

All hope of her return is lost until his golden-haired American lover lands in my lap.

Elodie Rivers.

The same woman I've obsessed over since our ill-fated meeting two years ago.

She's guilty by association, so I have no misgivings in using her for my own gain.

Until I come face to face with her again.

And even though she seems to have no memory of me, I can't deny the intoxicating pull between us.

The longer I'm near her, the greater my addiction grows until I'm sure of only one fact.

This woman belongs at my side.

Per sempre.

But how can I keep her safe when we're under fire from all sides?

I love when the FMC can stand up for herself and oh boy does she!

This book was fantastic but it made me emotional multiple times, it was hard to put this book down to do life things. Great story, great characters, good action, the plot twist and the spice! I’m ready for the next book!

"𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰'𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘳."

To the world, Elodie Rivers is the pampered and cherished mistress to Domenico Conti, one of the mafia's most feared capo de facto. In truth she is little more than chattel, sold to the Contis to settle a monumental family debt. When Nico Conti murders rival Don Giacomo Caruso, and kidnaps his daughter, he forces the hand of their new and untried leader, Raphael Caruso. Rafe Caruso takes Elodie in retribution for his sister's capture. But Rafe and Elodie share a secret bond, a wish upon starlight, and an incredible twist of fate. Will Rafe be able to rescue his sister and still keep Elodie away from the abusive hands of her former owner?

"𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘮𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘮𝘦. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦."

Pamela O'Rourke masterfully puts onto the page the agony, longing, and intensity of Rafe and Elodie's forbidden love. I was completely fascinated by them. It was as if their feelings were broadcast in high definition. I felt all of it. Pamela's books have never been simple romances. Deep and meaningful shifts from utter sorrow to uplifting triumph are hallmarks of her writing. Corrupt Crown honours that expectation, while taking her readers down a darker path than ever before. I enjoyed watching Elodie transform from helpless pawn into vengeful queen, and I enjoyed Rafe going into insane lengths to inflict unlawful justice on those who have hurt her. Secondary characters are drawn with empathy and detail, especially loyal Emiliano and adorable little Skye.

"𝘐 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘥."

Without detracting from the main couple, Corrupt Crown skillfully hooks me in for three more potential romances that I refuse to miss out on, my endless TBR be damned. A brilliant job winning over this mafia romance lover!

Pamela is a new author for me and I’m a fan for life. This book had me at go. The characters, especially Rafe, the storyline, honestly everything about this book was fantastic. The writing is easy, it flows so well and each page grabs you and doesn’t let go. And don’t get me started on this love story. The mouth on Rafe is honestly perfection. This man has a golden tongue and everything out of his mouth is either heart stopping or panty melting….yeah I said it. He.Is.Perfection. I would sell my soul for a man like him. To feel even an ounce of the love he has for his “Stellina” would be life changing and unforgettable.
As far as mafia romances the story falls in line but there is just something about the whole package that has me yelling this books praises from the rooftops. So glad I was able to discover Pamela and her stories because now i have some catching up to do!

Another book knocked out the park by Pamela, I swear she is one of those authors that if she wrote something on a napkin, I’d buy it and read it.

Elodie has an agreement with the Don of the Conti family, because her parents are absolute a-holes. She has to be his “plaything” otherwise there will be consequences.
Whilst she attends a wedding with one of her best friends, she bumps into a tall, dark, and handsome man called Rafe, they have an amazing time together eating, talking and walking around Italy. Until his real agenda comes to light. She’s drugged and taken captive by Rafael Caruso.

Now that Rafe has Elodie he can use her to get his little sister back from the Conti family, but what he doesn’t bargain for is the way Elodie makes him feel.

Now who does he choose, family or of the woman who captivated him years before?

This book is full of twists and turns which are my favourite! Parts of this book I had zero clue what was going to happen, and it kept me on my toes which I loved!

Honestly can’t wait to read the next book in this series, as I know it’ll be just as good as this one.

I was absolutely loving this book until Elodie hears that Rafe has to marry someone else and she tells him that she doesn’t care if he marries someone else, she will take him however she can get him. So she’s willing to be his mistress on the side even though she’s been someone else’s “little whore” for that last 4 years and deserves better!!

wtf is up with WOMEN authors writing women like this these days?!! Ugh way to completely ruin a book.

Corrupt Crown is the first book in the Saints & Sovereigns series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Rafael “Rafe” Caruso met Elodie Rivers two years ago and hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind. But circumstances lead to her becoming the “enemy” by association, and he takes her as revenge. As they spend more time together, he can no longer deny the pull he has toward her, and she can’t deny what she feels either.

If Pamela’s entering her mafia era, I am here for it.

Elodie was so strong. Seriously. I guess it made sense, considering what she’d gone through. But I loved how she didn’t really let Rafe just push her around, even though she was technically his “prisoner.”

Rafe was ruthless and not one to cross. He would do anything and everything for those he loved, including Elodie. I’m talking touch her and die. And the dirty talking? In Italian? 😮‍💨.

This was kind of insta-love after a little enemies to lovers, which was a bit odd. But it didn’t bother me too much.

As with all of Pamela’s books (that I’ve read), this is packed with suspense, emotion, and twists and turns. This was a great start to a new series, and I can’t wait for the next book.

Corrupt Crown by Pamela O'Rourke, is the first book in the Saints & Sovereigns Series, here we will meet Elodie Rivers, she is preparing for a party that her parents are giving for her birthday, although this is more to maintain the pretensions of her parents, since her home is full of disdain towards her, her mother has always been cruel and her father just ignores her most of the time, but she has something precious to take care of so she puts up with everything, since she knows that otherwise not doing it what she is trying to protect will pay the consequences. This is why when her father, who is a financial advisor to the rich and due to a bad deal, offers her as payment for the money that the Conti family lost, which will lead her to belong to Domenico Conti and do whatever it takes for the time that they deem necessary, she will accept it and although at first she feels that she is escaping from the prison that was her home as the years go by, she realizes that she will not be much better here when Domenico ends up showing her his true colors. Although there is still some rebellion in her, she does not imagine that disobeying Domenico will lead her to be in the middle of a war and be used as a token in it. Rafael Caruso, the second son of Don Giacomo Caruso never imagined becoming Don, his brother Alessio who was his father's successor lost his life a few months ago and now his father has been murdered and his sister kidnapped. Now he must bury his father and do what is necessary to recover his sister from the clutches of the Conti, which means that the fragile peace between the five families has been broken, putting them on the brink of war. The opportunity to get his sister back comes when Domenico's toy travels alone and unprotected to a wedding. It will be the perfect moment to keep her and exchange her for his sister. But nothing goes as planned and when he begins to get to know the girl he realizes that she is another victim of the Conti's evil, and when feelings begin to arise and the lines to be erased Rafael will do whatever is necessary to save not only his sister but also Elodie, but first they must face the dangers and betrayals that can end their lives.
This story is explosively perfect! Drama, action, betrayal, danger, power, death, unexpected turns, angst, tears, laughter, passion, sensuality and a lot of love, are the ingredients that make this story the perfect dark romance. Strong and determined characters, willing to do what is necessary for those they love while they walk within the thin line of the morally gray, are the perfect mix in this story that will captivate you from its first pages. I was almost on the edge of my seat throughout the entire read and although my heart broke with the loss of a beloved character, I can quickly say that this story is one of my favorites in this genre. This is my first story by this author and I'm more than sure it won't be the last. Absolutely Highly Recommended!

¡Absolutamente Altamente Recomendada!

I honestly thought half way through this story was only going to be a 3.5 or maybe a 4 but then the twist and turns just kept coming!! And I never thought that a mafia romance would make me want to cry (iykyk). I loved the plot and how right when you thought you knew something you definitely did not expect what came next

And the spice was definitely spicy. With not having to many scenes the scenes that were written were done very well. And it happened just at the right time and didn’t feel like they were just put somewhere to add more spice.

I can not wait for the next book! Hopefully the same caliber of writing is continued on because this was a top mafia read for me!

OMG... This book. Honestly Pamela, are you kidding me??? 😱
I already know this review will give me a lot of grey hair. I don't know what to write.
This book is sooo good. I know Pamela was a little scared because it's different from her other books. But I don't know why. It's sooo good and yes it's a dark romance her other books weren't all wallflower books 🙈
I cried soo much while I read this book and while I write this review I'm crying again... 😭
I really don't know where to start with my review.
Rafe and Elodie are just so perfect. They really are soulmates.
Can I describe Rafe? No. I can't. I definitely can't find words for him... He is too perfect for any word. It really needs a whole book 😁
I haven't read any mafia books better than this one. OK, OK, I haven't read many yet, but I know they won't be better. This book just has everything. The whole bad mafia vibes... But also the wonderful love story 😍 Oh, and don't let me forget all the Italian language... Why is it so 🔥🔥🔥 when the guys speak Italian? 🥵
Even with all the bad that happened in Elodie's past, she is such a wonderful young woman. And her love for her sister is just so heartwarming ❤️
And then there are plot twists, just WOW. Yes, some are predictable, but still, I love them. It's a little like solving a mystery, right?

We already get huge hints for the next two books. And I'm not sure how Skye will react to everything that will surely happen in book 4, because it felt like she is a little in love with her new "uncle" 😆 She is such a cute little girl. I would love to read a book with her love story too, but she is just too young yet 😫

✨ARC Review✨

Pamela absolutely knocked this out of the park😮‍💨 If you’ve been following my Goodreads for a while now you will know Mafia romances are my thing and let me tell you this book ticks all the boxes👀

I am a big fan of the capturer/captive romances and you wanna know why? It’s because the realisation moments are just the absolute best.

Well this book follows Elodie who basically has been given away to Nico by her family.. yeah family of the year there, but Elodie has her reasons for going with Nico quietly and honestly my poor heart broke for Elodie when I found out the truth 😭

Anywho, Elodie has been in Nicos company for 4 years and let’s just say he’s not the best person.. but one weekend she defies him and sneaks off to a best friends wedding in Italy. Now Rafael is currently grieving his father and brother, adjusting to his new position as Don and is on the hunt to bring his sister home who has been taken. Now this is key as his sister was taken by none other than Nico.. and this is where it gets interesting as Rafael plans to take Elodie and use her as leverage to get his sister back as he believes that Elodie is Nico’s lover and while that may be true he doesn’t realise the horrors she is subjected to because of Nico..

I mean even though Rafael wanted to use Elodie as a means to an end to get his sister back, but let’s be honest the man had conflicted feelings about using her since the moment he laid eyes on her 🥹

“You may be my captive, but you’re the one who’s taken me prisoner.” - Rafael had me constantly swooning that’s for sure.

I adored Elodie, while she was thrust in an awful position she remained strong😭

Overall I want to keep this review spoiler free but I honestly loved it and word of warning this book will definitely tug on your heart strings, especially chapter 30.. my tears just kept falling😭😭

Thank you so much to the author & Greys Promotions who provided this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭

First let me say I absolutely love discovering new authors, and for me Pamela O’Rourke is it! I came across her book on bookstagram and immediately ran to kindle on its release date.

Rafael Caruso, and Elodie Rivers’s characters were exciting to read! I love the mafia world and this was definitely a good mafia read. With the story lines and plots and twist, Pamela wrote an extraordinary book! I can’t wait for what’s in store with this author!! Check the trigger warnings before you read. I highly recommend this author to your TBR😀

Pamela O’Rourke is a new author for me and now I’m a fan!
I really liked Rafe and Elodie story.
Elodie is such a strong woman that endured so much in her life. Her family is so disgusting and I wanted to enter in the book and slap them!
I loved how fierce was Elodie, she finally found her voice and was not afraid to use it and speak for herself.
Rafe is a true gentleman and you can tell that he is ✨obsessed✨ with his “stellina”!
He also suffered a lot and he’s still recovering from his dad and his brother deaths. He suffers and he is struggling to accept his new role in his Family.
I really like to see his vulnerability and how he was such a string and alpha man but never fails to show his emotions to Elodie.

Also the side characters are really well written and the add fun to the story (I loved Sasquatch aka Emiliano!!).

I want to keep a spoiler free review but please read the trigger warning at the beginning of the book as this is a dark romance (a very good one!!).

10/10 read absolutely!! The sexual tension between Elodie and Rafe is absolutely incredible!! Rafe gave her space to feel comfortable with him and it didn’t feel forced or like an insta love. This book is filled, I mean filled with dirty Italian talk and phew! It was hot, I had to fan myself down a couple times!

The story line with the different mafia family’s, how Elodie got wrapped up in everything, how much Rafe cares about his family was done so so so well. I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next!

WOW just WOW.

I think this was my favourite Pamela O'Rourke book to date. I will be obsessed with Rafe for a long time. He was just everything i want and need in a book boyfriend. Elodie went through a lot but the fact that she was strong and never showed weakness.

I need the next book like right now.

When I tell you I devoured this book, I mean it. It had everything I could’ve wanted in a mafia romance.
Rafe is so sweet and loveable, but also very hard and touch her, you die. The mix of emotions he gave was *chefs kiss*.
As for Elodie, I adored her character. I love that she wasn’t too mean or closed off to Rafe, due to what she’s gone through. Seeing a FMC be open to love and not closed off was so nice to read.

Pamela killed it with this one, and I am so ready for the next.

Another dark and delightful mafia romance for the books.

Rafe and Elodie were simultaneously violent (at times like real violent), badass characters who weren't afraid to feel and show their emotions.

I loved the side characters - Sasquatch will always have my heart - and the setup for the rest of the series was great.

Minor-ish spoiler/trope reveal: to me, this ended up being somewhat insta-love, which I wasn't expecting. Not bad in how it was done, just unexpected (and I'm not a huge fan of the insta-love trope in general).

I can't wait to read the next book with Aurelia and Santino, who quickly became a fave. I love me a sassy Mafia man!

If you enjoy Mafia romance with sweet but overprotective MMCs and FMCs who are discovering their badass selves, then I'd definitely recommend this one!

Absolutely loved this book. Elodie was handed over to a monster, Don of the Conti family, by her parents to pay a debt and forced to live as “his whore”. Rafe is the newly appointed Don of the Caruso family, trying to save his sister who was kidnapped by Conti. In an attempt to save his sister he kidnaps Elodie as a bargaining tool. It is very quickly apparent, he cannot give up Elodie and needs to keep her for himself. He spends his time seeking revenge on all who have harmed her in the past and save her from ever returning to Conti. Conti May have burned his mark into her but Rafe will claim her as his and him as hers.

This book has the action you would expect in your mafia romance. You have an alpha male who lives by the touch her and die motto. And who doesn’t love a happy ending! Cannot wait for book two and the story of Rafe’s sister.

Ughhh, Pamela really tugged on my heartstrings...

This is a GREAT mafia romance, but it was also quite dark, and already the beginning broke my heart, and it just kept being torn to pieces throughout - but as is the norm with this author, she managed to slowly put the pieces back together again, and gave a satisfying end to all the suffering.

"You turned my life upside down and inside out when you brought me here, yet I'm more myself now than I've ever been in my whole life. And that's because of you. Because you found beauty in my broken pieces."

Genre: Dark mafia romance
Tropes: Captive & captor, forced proximity, touch her and die, mystery/suspense, obsessed MMC, he falls first, survivor and strong FMC.
Trigger warnings: Yes!

ARC review:
This was a great mafia romance with the perfect balance between plot, spice and the story itself. It was fast-paced and action-packed, which fit well with the story. I had no trouble following the story and didn't feel like something wasn't explained properly, and with an action-filled storyline, it was just that much more thrilling with it being fast-paced. The twists along the way had me gasping and kept me reading.

The storytelling was amazing, as I have quickly come to expect from this author.

Rafael 'Rafe' Caruso was a delicious surprise. I mean, he comes off as this unhinged morally grey antihero and a sexy mafia don, but he is also very sweet and sensitive underneath the rough and tough mafia don exterior. He's ruthless, which is expected, but not too much so - he really has a great heart and loves deeply and is extremely loyal.

Elodie Rivers was also a highly welcome surprise. She is such a great FMC, and I really can't explain properly just how strong she is. Despite the trauma and just overall hell she went through, she still is feisty and positive and a total badass.

Also Rafe's nickname for Elodie and him speaking in a foreign language *chef's kiss*, add in the mouth on him, and my heart was racing and aching at the same time. Seriously, the chemistry was HOTTT, just a fire-burning, never-ending inferno. There is also a lot of character growth a sweet relationship building and the banter is definitely ON POINT!

I'm very excited about more in this new world the author has created.

“Because you see me. The true me. And within your darkness, you allow me to shine.”

This is the first book in the Saints & Sovereigns series and I couldn’t put it down once I started it. This was a great start to this series.

This story follow Eloise, who is the mistress to Domenico Conti, a fear mafia capo. But the truth is she never wanted to be with him it wasn’t her choice. Now she’s been taken captive by Rafael Caruso who is the the head of his family after Nico killed his father and kidnapped his sister. What she wasn’t expecting was to catch the eye of the Rafe but what she doesn’t know his this isn’t their first time meeting, they actually, meet two years ago. And even though she doesn’t remember him he remembers her and they undeniable pull between them. As time goes by things change and she no longer his captive but someone he can’t live without. But will he be able to save his sister without giving up the one women he can’t live without or will he lose everything?
These two had chemistry and banter throughout the book and once they started opening up to each other only made their relationship stronger. They were exactly what the other needed and once they gave into the tension building between them, they were explosive. The way their relationship develops from the beginning to end is great, especially as they realize their feelings. I love how Elodie transforms from a weak pawn to his strong queen. And I absolutely love how possessive and obsessive he was over his little star. This book has a bit of everything drama, romance, revenge along with some twist & turns you don’t see coming. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, the characters and the ending. I can’t wait for the next book.

I would recommend if you like:
♥️Mafia Romance
♥️Captive
♥️Forced Proximity
♥️He Falls First
♥️Touch her & Die Vibes

For a violent Mafia story that this book is supposed to be. Elodie feels pretty at ease being practically a slave manhandled every which way.
I mean saying that forced sex with her captor was kinda freeing. Stockholm syndrome much!

For someone who has been used and abused by men all her life she’s pretty docile with having yet another man be friendly and loving with her.
I mean realistically she should be weary, suspicious and hating men’s attention.
And then despite her harsh reality she trusts Rafe so easily flirting and touching and the like.

Sounds more like a fairytale than a Mafia story so far 🤷🏻‍♀️

I understand how people might like this book. Struggling FMC. Possessive MMC who avenges her. Beautiful MCs. He gives her choices. She gives him desserts. Yeaaahh…
I mean don’t get me wrong, the author is good, so good that you can guess she’s a fiction author.
Just like when an actor is so talented that can sell you off the story yet it shows that they’re acting and not feeling it! Well, same 😁

Corrupt Crown is Book 1 in Pamela’s new series Saints and Sovereigns, a mafia romance with heartache, redemption, and revival of what was stolen. Elodie never had a choice in her life. From early on, her choices and paths were paved for her. On her twenty-first birthday, her present is being promised to the head of the Conti crime syndicate in exchange for her father and brother’s misgivings. Her to erase their debt, no warmth, no thought, a simple transaction, her life given up for the sins of another with a threat if she refuses that rocks her to her core.

Three years later, Elodie is a shell of who she was, a swan to the world, elegant and unbreakable, but under the surface, she is paddling for her life to stay afloat, surviving each day to protect the only thing she cares about. Disobeying who she calls her “boss” she finds herself unprotected in Italy and is more prey than she knows. She’s endured the unspeakable, what’s one thing more?

Rafiel became Don without ever wanting it. His older brother gone and his father murdered in cold blood left him head of the family he never wanted to take charge of. When his sister goes missing, it is his turn to get revenge and the best way to do it is to take what is most precious to his enemy, Stellina. His past is not his presence and no matter how he felt when he was around her, she’s a pawn now nothing more…or so he thought.

Bringing Elodie into his home, being close to her lights a fire he has tried to keep at embers, but has turned into a raging flame. Their pull and tension is tested and although he is a patient and calculated man, his restraint only goes so far. Once it is broken, he will move heaven and earth to get back what he treasures and keep her safe and his at the same time. Though, finding out she’s not the only one threatened, adding complexities to his task.

Can Rafe beat the head of the Conti family, get his family back, and keep his Stellina in his arms forever? What will the cost be and the price paid to get that? This book had me in tears. The pain Elodie has endured and the strength she carries to make it day to day broke me. Rafe’s love for her and fierce need to protect her is felt through the words, and the struggle to get their happy ending is no easy feat.

Congratulations Pamela on taking a leap of faith, following your heart, and letting these beautiful characters come to life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Ohhh man this book sucked me under! I haven’t read much for dark romance or mafia romance. The Alliance Series by SJ Tilly is as close as I’ve gotten &let me tell you, this book rivals it! The action &drama kept me entranced. I was constantly thinking about the book after I would put it down.

* The spice was soooo spicy! 🥵👏🏼 Thank you Pamela O’Rourke for blessing us with fire &chemistry between Rafe &Elodie! Rafe was alpha yet sweet &protective. Elodie was strong &kind. Their relationship beginning to end was 😘🤌🏼.

* Even the side characters were amazing! I loved how well Elodie got along with Rafe’s family. Elodie’s relationship with Emiliano, her bodyguard. Elodie &Skye’s relationship. I’m curious to read the other books &see how those stories intertwine.

* My one complaint is that I was annoyed with the amount of Sicilian verbiage. I understand that it was necessary &brought accuracy to the story but there were just wayyy too many for me to follow that I stopped looking back at the dictionary &progressed without it. Maybe if there were only a few phrases/words but there were pages worth &I don’t want to continually go back &check, taking me out of the story. I was able to progress through the story without much issue without it, just guessing what I thought it would be.

* I love how the storyline progressed throughout the book. It went back in time to see different POVs but also chapter to chapter progressed forward &moved from each character’s POV so well.

* I highly recommend this book, especially if you loved The Alliance Series! I can’t wait for the rest of the series to come out!!

Thanks to The Author Agency &Pamela O’Rourke for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Themes:
* Kidnapping
* Dark romance
* Mafia romance
* Forced proximity
* Age gap (7 years)

Pamela undid herself this time !!!

I needed just three to form my words for this book and I can't say enough🥹

In Corrupt Crown, we meet Elodie, a young woman who is betrayed by her parents and sold into a horrific situation. On her own for the first time, she encounters Don Rafael, a mysterious man with whom she feels an instant connection.

However, Rafael's motives are not entirely pure. He has a hidden agenda and captures Elodie, taking her to his mansion in Italy. Unbeknownst to Elodie, they've actually met before. Two years ago, Rafael set his sights on her, and now that fate has brought them together again, he won't let her go.

Elodie is understandably confused and frightened. Rafael reveals that he and Nico, the man who bought her, are locked in a power struggle. Nico kidnapped Rafael's sister, and Rafael, in retaliation, has taken Elodie. But as Rafael spends time with Elodie, he realizes his feelings for her go deeper than just a pawn in his game. He begins to genuinely care for her.

This book was phenomenal! Pamela's writing is captivating, and I adored everything about it. The story itself is heartbreaking, but in the best way possible. She has a talent for creating well-developed side characters you instantly connect with. And let's not forget the major plot twist – get ready to shed some tears!
Specifically, I loved the relationship between Elodie and Rafe. His patience and unwavering support for her, both her and her daughter, were truly heartwarming. It's easily one of my favorite reads this year. I can't recommend this book enough!

What to expect:

🔥Mafia Romance
🔥Captive
🔥Obsessive/protective Hero
🔥Strong, Damaged Heroine
🔥Tough Her and Die Vibes
🔥He Falls First
🔥Forced Proximity
🔥Action and Adventure
Confident. Cultured. Charismatic.
And just how far am I willing to go in order to keep what's mine.

I loved this book! Normally I have to take a while to get into a new story but this book I was immediately invested. There were lots of unexpected twists in the story that kept you constantly on your toes. The story of Rafe and Elodie was heartbreakingly beautiful.

This was my first book by Pamela O'Rourke but definitely not my last! I really enjoyed her writing style. I will definitely be reading more from Pamela!

Mafia has to be one of my favorite tropes to read, so when I found out Pam was starting a mafia series, I got so excited. And Corrupt Crown did not disappoint in the freaking slightest.

Let me start with how much I loved Elodie. She was so strong despite all of the trauma she’d been through. She’s the type of heroine I need to be best friends with. And then there’s Rafe. Sorry, ladies, but Rafe is mine, and that is confirmed by Pam. Rafe was boy obsessed and the perfect unhinged mafia man we all want for ourselves. I’m absolutely obsessed with him and will not accept any criticisms pf him.

Together, Elodie and Rafe provide an action packed romance that you won’t be able to put down. You will get all of the mafia elements you could desire, and a mafia man that you’ll want all to yourself. These two are, without a doubt, soulmates. Their love was so beautiful to witness, and I can’t recommend their story enough!

P.s. Pam, I’m glad the hateful cow got her just punishment. I cackled when I read that paragraph.

P.P.S. Forever a supporter of Sasquatch 🩵

This story is a maf!a romance that is quite different than most I read. It’s not as gritty and it’s definitely more about the romance between Elodie and Rafe. I think this is a perfect book for someone who wants a touch of maf!a, but more of a swoony, sweet and steamy romantic story.
Elodie is a strong FMC, she’s endured and sacrificed a lot for someone else. She is quite likable, she’s brave, funny and kind.
Rafe has lost quite a few loved ones in a short time, he’s now the head of his family’s crime syndicate. He’s dealing with a very serious situation when Elodie meets him. He’s extremely strong, intelligent and ge is caring. He’s not hardened by his lifestyle.
There are a few secrets and twists that are great.
There are fun scenes between Elodie and Rafe’s best friend and consigliere.
Towards the end there’s action and danger for all of the characters.
I enjoyed the book, liked the characters quite well; for my personal tastes, it was on the sweet and insta-love side and that’s not my favorite. It was beautifully written, it’s engaging and enjoyable. The characters weren’t given enough time for character depth/development in my opinion. Though, I think it’s still a solid story and the spice is fantastic. Rafe is super swoony and Elodie is strong and likable. The secondary characters add a bit of family and heart that was great.

I had the privilege of receiving an ARC, for Corrupted Crown so I want to say thank you to Pamela O’Rourke and The Author Agency, for letting me read it early.

Corrupt Crown is mafia enemiesish to lovers. I say ish on the enemies part which I will explain later. Our MMC Rafe is Don to the Caruso family. Rafe eventually kidnaps our FMC Elodie because she is the lover of the Don of the Conti family. The Conti’s took Rafe’s sister which is why he kidnapped Elodie. I’m giving this a three stars. There was jumping back and forth within chapters because Elodie suffered from amnesia and couldn’t remember when she met our MMC before he took her captive. The jumping back forth while in the middle of the a chapter made my head spin. This was also was very insta lust from the jump. Our FMC is suppose to me strong but she caved on her feelings for the MMC way to easily. For anything she endured because man did she go through trauma she wasn’t standoffish like I thought she would be. For Rafe I wanted a more psycho MMC. He had his moments of being unhinged but it didn’t wow me. The spicy scenes were okay. But Emiliano the FMC’s bodyguard that was assigned to her when she was taken was super funny and the highlight of this book, and he deserved better! The story also didn’t take off until 80% of the book which I found a little annoying. What kept me going is Conti getting what he deserved! Lastly the plot twists in this I saw coming a mile away. Overall I was just left wanting more. But by all means this wasn’t bad. The ending did make me curious to continue this series because I need to know what is going to happen to Rafe’s sister in her book.

Tropes:
-Captive/Captor
-Obessive/Protective Hero
-Strong, Damaged Heroine
-He falls first
-Touch her and ☠️
-Forced Proximity

This book solidified why I love mafia romances and don’t read them enough. Pamela absolutely hit this one out of the park and had and held my attention from the get-go.

Elodie has always been a puppet in her family’s games, and it hit an all-time horrible peak when she was offered to Nico Conti, Don of a horrible crime family, to basically be at his beck and call and do whatever he wants her to do. He made her life a living nightmare for four years, and there wasn’t anything she could do about it because her being compliant meant the person she loved the most was safe. She endured the worst for years and decided to defy him and attend her BFF’s wedding in Italy. What she doesn’t expect is to hit it off with a stranger and subsequently have him capture her because he knows who she is and who she is associated with. Rafe, newly named Don of the Caruso family, has his reasons for capturing Elodie: the Conti family killed his father and brother and took his sister, and wants to use Elodie has leverage to get his sister back. He never expects to be so enthralled by her. He doesn’t know the whole story of why her and Nico are together but knows since that fateful day years ago, he hasn’t stopped thinking about her. Except, she doesn’t know who he is. Nico tries to stay away from her, but she envelopes his mind with her presence, and he can’t help but want to claim her. As her memories come back, she knows that she’ll do anything to be able to stay with Rafe while also keeping her loved one safe.

The story unfolds so beautifully with Rafe and Elodie accepting one another for who they are, despite some of the things that happened in their pasts. Their love develops quickly, and their bond runs deep. I loved every part of this story, and I can't wait to read about the rest of the family!

This is my first book from this author and I have to say Pamela is definitely on my to read list now.

Urgh the characters have you from the get go in this book....it grabs hold from the first chapter and it doesn't let go right till the very end!! This is a mafia story which of course are one of my favourite tropes and forever will be and Corrupt Crown was no exception it was so so good!!! The story follows Elodie who has been forced by her parents to marry the Don of the Conti family ( yes her family especially her mother are vile people ) Nico is just using her as a plaything and treats her like shes nothing all she is to him is payment basically as her parents are in debt to Nico hence the force marriage. While she attends a wedding on her own with one of her best friends she bumps into a tall, dark and handsome man called Rafe, they get to know each other and have great chemistry. Until the truth comes out and she's drugged and taken captive by Rafe.

Now Rafael wants his sister back from the Conti family so he's using Elodie as bait to get what he wants thinking that Nico will hand her over until he realises what Elodie is to Nico and now Rafe is out to not just save his sister from Nico but also Elodie too. Honestly so good I couldn't put my kindle down!! It's full of twists and turns it definitely keeps you on your toes that's for sure. I can't wait to see what happens next in the continuation of this story.
