Call of the Norns #2

Fates Promised

Rate this book
Worlds collide in this time travel fantasy adventure in the Viking era full of even more action, romance, and Norse mythology than before in the second installment of the Call of the Norns series.

After my whirlwind fantasy adventure, I’m back in Colorado with new digs and a new job. My real-life Viking even managed to find a way to follow me through time. Everything should be great — except I think I left a part of myself in the past, and my nightmares are getting worse.

Domari never pictured himself this far from home, despite his decade of traveling with the Varangian Guard. As much as he tries to make a life here with me, a Viking in our modern-day world is a huge adjustment, and it’s easy to see he’s homesick.

Maybe that’s why I can’t stop dreaming about his village, or shake this darkening sense of foreboding...

Hi! I'm Aimee! I wrote this book. First of all, thank you so much for taking a chance on this series. If you're here, then it must mean you read Fates Illuminated and enjoyed it enough to continue.

I'm here to tell you, Fates Illuminated is really just the tip of the iceberg. This book right here, Fates Promised, is where the story unfolds. So many of your questions from Fates Illuminated will be answered, and so many new ones will form as these two worlds collide again.

Fates Illuminated read as a time travel romance with a dash of fantasy. This book is the opposite, and I think you're going to love it that much more.

I can't wait to hear what you think! If you love it, come find me on Instagram @aimeevancebooks and let's chat!

I had the pleasure of reading an early copy of this sequel and OMG. It was PHENOMENAL. Also left me absolutely DYING for book three…I instantly messaged Aimee as soon as I finished because I have THEORIES…that she may or may not have confirmed 👀 I’m not going to say any more because I want you to be just as enthralled with the revelations of this book as I was!

Probably my favorite thing about this book was the addition of Signe’s POV! Signe is the enneagram 8 I want to have in my corner. She loves fiercely, stands up and protects those she loves, and keeps calm even with impending danger. She knows what needs to be done, and does what she needs to…even at the expense of her own happiness and safety. I loved finding out more about her inner motivations and her past throughout her POV chapters. Such a fantastic addition!

Also Charlene. Always Charlene. Also anxiously awaiting her book because we all need more Charlene in our lives, right?

Like I said, the ending of this book left me speechless with alllll the theories swirling around in my brain. Aimee, I need book three. Now, please.

Thanks to the author for gifting me an early copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

HOW. WAS. THIS. SO. GOOD?
I loved book 1 and was excited for this sequel and it exceeded expectations. Truly.
I fell in love with characters I wasn't expecting (Signe and Gunnar...CLUTCHES HEART) and deeper in love with our girl Shelbie and our viking god-man Domari. Ps. Get ready for swoon-worthy Domari internal dialogue about how obsessed he is with Shelbie and WHAT GIRL DOESN'T WANT TO IMAGINE A VIKING LIKE HIM TO OBSESS OVER THEM?? Don't worry, I know your hand is raised.
The emotions that Signe brought forth out of me...sheesh. It depicted word for word how I feel about motherhood and that's not common to see. So Aimee, thank you for that.
The flashes between the timelines kept the pace of the book going as I just wanted to know what would keep happening in both.
The story developed deeper and went face first into CAN'T PUT IT DOWN for the last 25%.
My heart was broken and put back together then broken again and then it was kinda ok but now I'm gonna need book 3. Stat.

What a great second installment to this magical series. The story continues throughout two different timelines: the present time following Shelbie and Domari in Denver, in the US - Shelbie’s home. I love their interactions, the dialogues are all hilarious! And the second timeline back in ancient Sweden, amongst Vikings, where we follow the romance between Signe and Gunnar.

These two strong women have theirs fate intertwined by the Norns promises. The author perfectly unravels this mystical element throughout this sequel, describing their powerful link by bringing us back and forth through visions and dreams on their journeys.

The Outlander atmosphere is here, which I love, but a very appealing addition to this series is the strong presence of dragon lore. Specially how these majestic creatures are linked to a powerful woman. I'm a big fan of GOT so I had total Daenerys Targaryen vibes from this!

I really enjoyed the friendship bond between two strong women and how their fate is linked on a promise that crosses time and history. For the promise to be fulfilled they must understand their destiny together in order to save their Swedish village and loved ones from a colossal battle and fearful Ragnarok.

The book ends in a cliffhanger and left me dying to know which Fates will be Defied on book 3.. 😍

Thanks for the author for gifting me a copy for review!

After a very satisfying read of Fates Illuminated (Book 1 in this series), I was eager to jump into this book as soon as it reached my ereader! There is something about the way Aimee Vance writes that just makes the reading experience better - it's like coming home. It's an instant comfort read, even when there is worry and tension that has me side-eyeing the author in case she betrays me and offs a favorite character. I know at the end of the day that the story will flow in the way it should, and the emotions it drags out of me will just make me more engaged in the world. This book picks up almost right where the first left off, except with a little backtracking so we can see how Shelbie's absence has impacted Domari. That was particularly heart-wrenching, and I loved that we got to see that as readers. It's what makes writing with a dual POV so appealing - it opens up the reader's eyes to a whole new perspective, making the feels all the more real.

It's only been a few months since Domari and Shelbie have been separated, but for them it feels much longer. Feeling like their hearts have been torn asunder in the absence of each other, they mourn the distance they must face living in two different time periods. However, as fate would intervene yet again, Domari soon finds himself in the modern world...and in Shelbie's arms once more. Adjusting to the year 2022 is difficult, but it becomes even harder as Domari and Shelbie begin to work through intense dreams Shelbie is having and the subsequent terror they instill in her. Meanwhile, back in Domari's village, Signe is struggling with her hidden past that is catching up to her and the impact it has not only on her marriage but also her people. Although gifted with a warrior's intuition and strength, her time in the village has created emotional bonds that makes her vulnerable. With Domari nowhere to be found and danger creeping ever closer, Signe and Gunnar are forced to focus on a battle that is yet to come.

I absolutely adored both couples getting some romance in this book! Normally I am not a huge fan of a book focusing on two couples - I tend to only be invested in one and the other fades to the background for me. However, in this instance, I actually found myself completely in love with them both and needing to see them happy. While I already had an emotional connection to Domari and Shelbie from the first book, Signe and Gunnar were a new connection that, once forged, left me reeling. Their relationship dynamic was so strong, and it was clear that their bond was going to be put to the test as her history came to light. I loved seeing them work through that as an established couple, where a lot of romance doesn't show the turmoil that can occur in a relationship that's been in place for 8 years. Signe had to become vulnerable when she really didn't want to be, and Gunnar had to make her see that he would be there for her. Meanwhile, Domari's insecurities popped up in his relationship with Shelbie, which I found so eye-opening. He need reassurance, and his relationship with Shelbie hinged on good communication. Shelbie was floored when he showed up out of the woods, and at first, she had a hard time adjusting to his presence in her modern life. I was glad that they didn't immediately pick up where they left off - there was a realistic period of time where they had to almost re-learn their comfort with each other. And once they did...whoo, did I need a fan. Steamy in there.

This book does end on a cliffhanger, but fear not, it's not that bad. I still feel content enough where I can be patient. Thought I do hope the next book is coming soon, as I need to know how our dear friends are going to overcome the next challenge.

Aimee has done it again! I love this story and I love this book! The way she story builds is done so beautifully. There are different POV chapters and I could not get enough of all the characters. Signe is my favorite and Shelbie can be my Hot Mess Express best friend.

I don’t know how I’m supposed to wait for book 3. This is going to be torture.

So, I loved Shelbie and Domani in book one. Loved getting a look at the Viking village and Charlene at the ranch. And I love all of this in book two as well. But you know what we get in book two?? Signe and Gunnar. So much of them. And it's amazing. All of it. Also more of the Norns, more of Charlene, more wood chopping, more dragons .. and sweet bananas are we SET UP for book three!!

Read this.

AIMEE FREAKIN’ VANCE.
More coherent review to come.

Ok, now that I have gathered my thoughts:

I loved this book. Not surprised because I truly have loved everything that Aimee has written and co-written. She is such a talented writer (still an understatement - she is seriously so skilled). I instantly fell back into this world, completely immersed. I absolutely love all of the Norse culture woven in and can tell once again that Aimee did SO much research.

I want to give more thoughts but don’t want to drop spoilers but seriously, pick this series up. There’s romance, there’s friendship, there’s FATES, there is Charlene. I just adore everything about it and I am so excited for the third book.

Thank you so much for the arc, Aimee. I am truly honored and am so grateful I got to read this early. Check it out December 6th!

I am so excited to be working with this author as her editor for this incredible sequel. As my first checkpoint in the developmental edit process, I just completed my first read-through of her latest draft and WOW--this book is going to take readers by storm!!

Once I reread final draft, I'll compose a full review, but y'all get ready--this one is going to top book 1, which I know captivated so many readers. Huge thank you to Aimee for honoring me with this partnership!

After reading Fates illuminated I knew I was ready for book 2. Where Fates illuminated blew me away, Fates promised completely knocked me over. So many emotions went through me whilst reading it. One moment I was crying and then the next page had me laughing, whilst still getting over the emotional punch to the heart. (Not a very good look)

Aimee is so clever being able to write several pov with out loosing any traction in the story. Everything Just flowed like everything was happening at the same time.

Shelbie was so relatable, and at times I could empathise with her feelings and struggles.

Signe character was just awe inspiring. Her strength and her love for her family. She is such a fighter and I know there is so much more if her story to come, and I can not wait.

When I discovered Aimee and Fates Illuminated a few months ago, I was not prepared to become so wildly fascinated with this woman and her wonderful mind.

Aimee has become one of my favourite authors and human beings. She is truly a literary master whose dedication, research, and love is poured into every page of her novels.

Imagine my delight when she asked if I wanted to beta read Fates Promised. I WAS ECSTATIC. This book was fantastic in its beta stage, which will come as no surprise to those who have read Aimee's books. Now, having just finished the ARC, I can barely form the right words to describe how spectacular this novel is.

Aimee has taken this story to the next level. It is absolutely enchanting, so rich and interesting with incredible detail. She weaves a story through different times, and multiple POVs, but does it so flawlessly. It is evident how much research and thought has gone into this, and how much of her heart sits within the chapters and the characters.

There is so much action, charm, suspense, wit, lore, love, and everything in between. In this book, we're reminded that someone can have everything they think they need or desire, but still not be content. They can be surrounded by family and friends, yet still feel lonely. It is heartbreakingly raw, but so unbelievably relatable.

Shelbie, we are so ready for you to be the main character in your life!

I adore this series and will cherish it forever. Thank you, Aimee.

At a loss for words (not that I ever really have them to begin with) but holy shit

I absolutely adored Fates Illuminated and Shelbie has been one of my favorite main characters since reading it earlier this year. She remains one of the most relatable characters I’ve ever encountered and her vulnerability in this book really hit home.

Aimee writes her characters so beautifully. This entire clan -*holds in a group hug*- is my family. I really enjoyed seeing them all so vulnerable in different ways in this book. Signe’s points of view were spectacular and we all knew she’d been an incredible character after FI. Charlene continued to be our cowgirl queen. We get a sassy dragon this time, and as usual our grumpy Viking - this time IN. DENIM.

The plot. I gusped some gasps. I shrieked like a cicada. I had one single mascara tear fall down my cheek a la Lauren Conrad in the hills. It was a roller coaster in all the best ways.

Bravo Aimee, and thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. You’ve outdone yourself.

Notes: This is book two in the series. The first book is Fates Illuminated. You definitely need to start with book 1 first. I received a copy of this book as an advanced reader, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

What I Liked:
🐉 Signe. Without spoiling anything, she is EVERYTHING in this book. Her strength, her relationship with Gunnar. All of it. I want to be her when I grow up!

🐉Charlene once again has an energy that is all her own. She has the most loving and accepting heart despite all the things that she has been through. The best role model for our Shelbie!

🐉Shelbie and Domari my sweet babies ❤️❤️❤️ I love the “fish out of water” scenes we get in the beginning of the book. They made me smirk left and right. But then their story developed on a deeper level and honestly, it was beautiful. When she needs someone to support her, he’s there. When he needs help adjusting, she’s there. And then through it all Thor is by their side.🐾

What I Didn’t Like:
🐉 The only question I had for Aimee when I finished was a. What happens to Charlene? and b. How many books will be in this series? Why?? Because I need more immediately and it’s not far that I have to wait to find out what happens next!

🐉Also thinking about WHEN in time Shelbie will end up at the conclusion of this series is going to keep me up at night. I think Aimee should have to buy me melatonin to compensate me 😴

Final Thoughts:
🐉 I will be counting the days until the next book in this series is released. It truly has evolved into an epic story. This story has heart, action, adventure, spice, heartbreak, and comedy, literally something for everyone!

What a fantastic continuation of this story! I had so much fun!

I forgot how hard series are to review. I just want to talk about it, but I don’t want to give away spoilers!

All the things I loved about Fates Illuminated, there was more of in this book. I just ate it up.

We got more Shelbie being Shelbie. I love her so much. There were so many moments where I was right there next to her feeling the feelings. I appreciate the journey she went on in this one. The events of book 1 were a lot, and how do you deal with the aftermath of all that. She is so powerful and I can’t wait for even more!

We got more Domari, in all the ways I wanted more. I appreciated his strength and support of Shelbie through the story. He gets his world flipped upside down and handles it like a champ. I love him!

We get more of my favorite badass ladies from Fates Illuminated. One, I just want to be in her orbit. Soak up her love and energy. Maybe have a girls' night and hear her stories. The other I want to be. It feels like she was ripped from my mind. It was like, without knowing it, Vance took all the little traits I’ve loved from FMCs over the years, along with tales and myths I’m obsessed with, and smushed them all into a character. I don’t want to give too much away, but she is everything, and I will do anything for her.

This was a transitional book, but in the absolute best way. It did a great job of taking all the vibes from book 1, adding to them, while also setting up some big-time drama for book 3. It was everything it needed to be and more.

I can’t wait for the finale, but I am also so nervous!!! Ah!

WhoooWeee!

Ass down and zipper up as you prepare for this ride.

I don’t know how Aimee did it, but in her writing, she took two secondary characters from Fates Illuminated and transformed them into primary characters: Domari, Gunnar, Signe & of course, Shelbie, all take center stage in book 2 of the Call of the Norns series (Gunnar least if all).

It was fun to see Domari and his cool, collected self, step into the future and go all domesticated. We even got to have all of Shelbie’s family in one place!

Hadriel, oh my word. What a well written dragon!

Aimee illustrates through her writing, seemingly healthy partner relationships - both parties communicating, both parties vulnerable with both Signe and Gunnar and Domari and Shelbie.

It’s obvious the author did ALOT of research on Sweden and Viking culture.

My only hang up was the quick shift in emotions for Shelbie. One chapter, everything is great and the next Shelbie POV, life is crumbling around her. I imagine a shift like this is difficult to write, especially when needing to transition to the second half of the story.

Emotional shift aside, I couldn’t put this story down (see all the awesomeness above!).

⚠️ May contain slight spoilers for book one ⚠️

Shelbie, now back in her own time, must readjust again. She just wasn't expecting to do so with her viking boyfriend accompanying her. Domari and Shelbie are placed back together by Fate, but why? And why is Shelbie plagued with strange, terrifying dreams featuring those she cares about?

🐲 time travel
🐲 magic
🐲 mental health rep
🐲 DRAGONS
🐲 vikings
🐲 norse mythology

This book takes place directly after the events of book one. Domari, now in the present (his future), is introduced to all things 21st century. While all is going well for Shelbie and Domari back at the ranch, there is a sense of urgency and doom lurking through Shelbie's mind. Shelbie struggles with vivid dreams and begins hearing voices in her head. Meanwhile, we are introduced to a new POV, Signe. Getting to know her through the course of this book was a crazy ride and I loved every second. She's fierce and protective. Her past, a mystery to unfold. I can't wait to find out more about her in book three.

And y'all know I gotta mention the DRAGONS. I am so excited! They are playing a much larger role in this story than I originally thought!

If I had to come up with some criticism for this book, I think I'd want more romantic stuff. There was a ton of tension in book one between Shelbie and Domari that I didn't quite get as much of in this book. But I mean... there was other, more pressing matters at hand, so I get it. I am just a sucker for the romance is all.

Y'all ain't ready for this ending. I don't think I breathed normally for the last 25%.

Genre: Historical Fantasy

I keep debating between 4 and 5 stars, wish I could give it 4.5. It was so good. I actually had guessed a few things that were happening, but it worked the way I was hoping in the end.

The amazing world building and character development from book 1 continues.

I was excited to see that Shelbie took lessons she learned and stuck with them. She went from being someone who was stuck to trying to figure out something better. The parts of her that are "Promised" were better than I expected.

The Eriksson Clan development was *chef's kiss*! Some of it I had guessed, but not unhappy to see I was right. I'm going to be very impatient to see what happens with Signe, Gunnar, and Yrsa in book 3.

And Domari... That man. He's the counterpart Shelbie needs for sure.

The addition of backstories for so many characters added a depth to the overall story, and was an unexpected delight. To see so many parts fleshed out, well written, but not in anticipated ways, just makes this storyline one of my favorites by far. It's been a wild ride. Through land, sea, and time. I will be awaiting the conclusion with curled-toes excitement.

Zippers up!!

This is book 2 in the Call of the Norns series and, oh my goodness. The planning and foresight that have gone into this series is turning it into a literary masterpiece. It is so well researched! I cannot wait for book 3. If you have not yet read Fates Illuminated (Book 1), get on it! Who can pass up vikings and time travel?

The things that stick out the most to me are how real and relatable the characters are. We don’t often see characters in their 30’s going on adventures or working through their anxieties, and I am here for it! Aimee writes in such a way that I can feel the emotions on the page, and her attention to detail is breathtaking. I am loving seeing the character growth and how well everything is connecting from book 1.

When I tell you this book had me audibly gasping and outright screaming, I am not kidding. Writing a review without spoilers is hard but finding the words to describe just how much this book meant to me is even harder.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Fates Promised and WOW - what a fantastic sequel to Fates Illuminated! I'm always worried that sequels will fall into the "second book syndrome" trap but this book surpassed my love of book 1. We got to learn more about some of our favorite characters (looking directly at you, Signe), expand on relationships we fell in love with, and really dive head first into the world Aimee has created.

The pacing was fantastic, the way the story built was never predictable while also being very much in line with the clues that Aimee has left for us throughout the series so far, and I can't wait to see how she's going to play with my emotions moving forward 😭

In short, I loved this book and you should definitely pick it up if you love:
🐉Vikings
🐉dragons
🐉time travel
🐉the Dolly Parton/Shania Twain-esque human tornado that is Charlene ✨

I thought Fated Illuminated was amazing, but this book took it to the next level and was incredible in every way! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters better and that we got to see some more of their back stories. The emotional depth given to each character really brought them to life and created a meaningful connection between the reader and the world as a whole.

I especially loved that we got Signe's POV and back story. She is such a badass and hands down my favorite character. Both her and Shelbie's struggles with having to wear a mask and be someone different to their family and friends was so relatable and written so beautifully. They may be characters in a fantasy book, but their strengths, worries, joy, sorrow, short comings, and relationships felt real and relatable.

I also liked the development of Shelbie and Domari's relationship. The different situations they both faced throughout the book were so fun and heartfelt. The new things they navigated together brought them closer and took them on a journey that I loved being a part of as a reader. Also, there was the perfect amount of spice, romance, and Domari chopping wood (IYKYK).

Oh and DRAGONS! Enough said.

Overall, I can't say enough good things about this book. I can't wait until book 3! I need to know what happens next!

Absolutely blown away by the follow up to Fates Illuminated. I expected to go deeper with our main couple, Shelbie and Domari. But I did not expect to be so incredibly invested and in head over heels LOVE with our supporting couple Gunnar and Signe. Everything about the plot, the characters, the inner monologue was next level. Still had the hilarious and heartwarming moments we've come to expect from Aimee Vance, but the action hit, the magic showed its face and the stakes went higher! I can't wait to see how things play out in book three and have thought about Signe so so often. One of my favorite characters ever and my favorite books of the year.

Fates Promised by Aimee Vance

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

This is an excellent book 2 in this Viking time traveling trilogy. Sometimes, second books can fall into a lull but this one does NOT fall to that curse. The author introduced additional POVs to keep us super engaged into multiple time tables (keeping vague to avoid spoilers). This book picks up right after a cliffhanger in book 1, and (surprise!) it ends on another cliffhanger.

Read this if you like:
🧡 time traveling romance
💙 modern language
🧡 Viking times
💙 a world with dragons
🧡 a loveable dog named Thor
💙 found family
🧡 multi POV

Aimee, we need book 3 right now! I’m so excited I applied to Aimee’s street team because so far every book by her has been fantastic!

Absolutely LOVED this sequel.

It had me laughing, crying, and anxious as the plot thickened.

It’s so immersive. We are spoiled with more character POV’s this time around and it makes for a much richer story. I thought Domari was my favorite from book 1 but we learn so much more about Gunnar in this book and UGH he’s a TOP TIER VIKING.

Read if you want:
Romantasy
Mature less annoying female main character
Vikings
Found Family
Time Travel
More easily digestible version of Outlander
Storytelling
A great character development arc
Norse Mythology

Fates Promised is the second in Aimee Vance's Call of the Norns trilogy. I loved the first book, Fates Illuminated, and was so excited to get an ARC for Fates Promised. This book did not disappoint. I loved every second. It had everything I was hoping for and things I didn't know I needed until I saw them on the page. I laughed, cried, and would really like a viking man of my own, please and thank you.

This book does not fall into the dreaded book-two-of-a-trilogy slump. The pacing flows well, the story is engaging, and it kept me on my toes the entire time. It includes multiple points of view (always a solid win for me), men of honor (who also happen to be phenomenal book boyfriends), strong women, and truly relatable characters. It does end on a cliffhanger, which is then followed by an absolutely epic epilogue that makes you want the next book even more. Fates Promised is an adventure you want to join. Highly recommend!!!

I enjoyed book 1 a lot. More so once we were in the Viking world. This book I expected to have more dragons, more promised stuff and magic.

So if mains me to say, I’m very disappointed with book 2 the pacing was very slow. I wish Signe was the main character as she’s the only reason I kept going. I enjoyed her story and her POV which is why my rating is 3 stars.

Although, If you love a slower paced book with lots of real life moments then this would be for you.

Shelbie and Domeri being in the human world was way too long and mundane. I would have preferred if their chapters were cut in half and they landed back in the Viking world earlier.

Nothing really happens until 75%. Did we need to see Dom learn to drive? Not really. Also his acceptance of technology 1000 years in advance was a bit too easy lol he didn’t seem to shocked about things he was exposed to.

I wish we learned about he Promised, dragons etc earlier. With more action and more interesting things happening.

Also the spice is less in book 2 which I was also sad about. But I do love the fact that we got some Signe and Gunnar action 😮‍💨 I absolutely love those two. They were the highlight of the book.

Just. Wow. This book picks up right where the first left off, and the author continued to enthrall me up until the last page. Domari and Shelby are an absolutely beautiful couple, because they are flawed. They each have their own doubts, regrets and concerns, and just like any real couple, they have to work their way through those things together. I loved that this book also had a new third viewpoint, one was already a favorite character from the first book. Without giving anything away, this character has such an amazing story, with a great character arc and WOW that surprise reveal about them at the end!

I highly recommend you pick this one up immediately!

“Until my dying breath, I’m yours. That’s the only gift I can offer you, which is still not enough. Not what you deserve.”

“Domari, you too.”“No,” Domari answered , and a genuine laugh bubbled out of me then.

“Until Valhalla,” Magnus whispered.

Fates Promised the the second book in the Call of the Norms series. I LOVED book one with all its intricate worldbuilding and lore, and devoured book two! Aimee did such an amazing job of building the world in book one that it was so nice to be able to read more of the character development and relationship building. We already have a vivid image of her world, so the development of Shelbie, Domari and Signe in this was amazing!

The flashes between times were refreshing and kept me on my toes, and I loved the contrast of Signe's nervous anticipation of what's coming, to Shelbie's comfortable new (but temporary) home life with Domari.

It was amazing to delve deeper into Signe and Gunnar's relationship. How the two work together is real life goals and I can't wait to see more. Magnus. Dear Magnus. I want him to be my brother 😭

The ending was bittersweet but it ends perfectly and I can't wait to see where book three kicks off from!

*Thank you Aimee for the ARC!*

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Thank you so much @aimee for allowing me to read this book in an exchange for my honest review!

I read book one in this series earlier this summer and enjoyed it! But book two… I’ve gone mad for it. The storyline picks up right where we’re left in Fates Illuminated. The pace is quick and the writing is captivating. We’re introduced to new POVs and let me tell you, Signe is the reigning champ of female leads for me right now. I loved reading her perspective and connected to her more than I thought I would. I didn’t realize how badly I needed to read about an established couple with a family until her and Gunnar. It was refreshing, heartbreaking, and relatable and I can assure you I’m totally smitten with their relationship. Shelbie and Domari are equally as lovable and the twists and turns will keep you on your toes.

Fates Promised is out NOW but be sure to pick up Fates Illuminated first if you haven’t already!

Things to expect:
🪓Vikings (obviously)
🪓Time travel
🪓Strong (yet relatable) female leads
🪓Dragons
🪓Humor (looking at you, Charlene)
🪓Spice 🔥
🪓Multiple POVs
🪓This book ends on a cliffhanger (you’ve been warned)
