This is a quick and dirty read - dark and angsty, filled with lots of secrets - though I kept waiting for a twist that never came. Even still, I was entertained.

Now that she's older, she wants to make a difference in young kids' lives. She only has one year left of school before she can fulfill her dream of becoming a kindergarten teacher.
The only problem is she needs a lot of money to cover the tuition, but it's a good thing she landed a job as a bottle girl at Brazen Miami's hottest nightclub.

Hadley's first night doesn't go well at all. She spills an expensive bottle of alcohol all over Jovan. Things get heated when Jovan is a jerk to Hadley, but he still goes home with her, only to tell her after s3x that he is the owner of Brazen. She is fired, and she also knows he is the leader of the Aguilar Cartel.
Hadley is desperate for her job back; it's the only one in the city that pays enough for her to attend school. She barges into Jovan's office and demands her job back. Jovan initially hesitates, but he loves her spitfire attitude and can't stop thinking about her, so he tells her she can have her job back, but he has some rules.
She will attend all his meetings as his personal bottle girl and only interact as needed. Simple right? Wrong. These two can't stay away from each other for long; they can't deny their sexual attraction, and things heat up quickly.

As their relationship progressed, they became entangled in a web of complexities. An unexpected pregnancy added a surprising twist to their lives, leading them to question their future together.
I loved the side characters Kennedy and Rio and want them to have a book. I can't wait to read Alessio's book and continue this series.

This brilliantly written mafia book had a perfectly crafted story line. The characters really made you feel like it's happening right on front of you but wow does this book have some spicy scenes. The sexual chemistry between Hadley and Jovan was smoking hot. Once I started reading this book I found it extremely difficult to put the book down. Kira Cole has gone and written another exquisite book which I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
Hadley is a very strong, determined young woman. She has always dreamed of being a kindergarten teacher. Hadley has only one more year of college to graduate. She needs to find a good paying job to pay her tuition. Hadley just happens to be hired at The Brazen one of the top clubs in Miami. Her job title is a bottle girl. Hadley's first night her trainer Kennedy puts a bottle of bourbon on her tray. Hadley is serving a group of men and it happens so fast the bottle is spilling onto Jovan. Hadley doesn't know that he is the owner of the club and head of the Aguilar Cartel. What happens when she finds out ? Jovan and Hadley are attracted from the start and can't stay away from each other. Such an exciting read that I enjoyed.

Okay story. It is be a little boring at times though. There is used more energy on fluff than more important moments that we only are going to hear about like page 152, why weren't we with Hadley in that special moment?
By the way, Jovan is the most stupid cartel boss I have ever read about... How he ever got hold of Miami is a mystery to me! I don't even have a feeling of how many men he got under him, because he needs Alessios help all the time and then there is Rio, the few other men he hears about are just empty shells.
And then watch out for the whiplash you get from their emotions, like "She's not going to be an important person in my life", "I need her", or "I can't get attached to anyone I'm gonna lose later". That was a little annoying.
And for some reason, the characters never blush, their cheeks turn pink, or flame or something 3rd and 4th.
On another note to add, it's like the author several times goes "oh and then I add this and this, even though I haven't mentioned it before." it was quite annoying. It made the story feel messy and not very well planned or cleaned up.
By the way... Do never put medicine in the bathroom...
After the attack on Jovan, we never see Hadley's reaction on the "painting" on him until we hear her internal thought about it several chapters later... Why can we not be in those moments? they are way more interesting in all the boring fluff...
Hadley hasn't had it easy. Now she has just one year of school left, and she's found the one job in Miami that will pay enough to cover the balance of tuition and living expenses for the year. The Brazen, one of the finest nightclubs in Miami, has hired her as a bottle girl, and on her first night she accidently spills all over Jovan, and tells him off for being a jerk. He goes home with her, and only then does she find out that not only is he the club owner, but the head of the Aguilar Cartel. Their story didn't have such an auspicious meeting, but as their love develops and danger swirls, things get complicated. Throw a baby into the mix, and see if all three get their happily ever after.
I read this book in one sitting. It was well written, and although not quite as dark as some Mafia books, it was dark enough to be interesting. Hadley was a feisty handful, and Jovan was not as over the top as some Heroes. They seemed well balanced. An enjoyable read, I can recommend it as one click worthy.

When I read these smutty mafia books just for shits and gigs I really just want an easy filler read when I get into a rut and don’t know what to read next. So I don’t have these high expectations, but sadly I couldn’t get past the bad writing and grammar which is so sad cuz that is the LAST thing I care about. The writing felt like a middle schooler wrote it and there were times where quotation marks were in random locations and periods were spaced out weird… I’m like did anyone even read it over??? But plot wise it was what you would expect from this type of book. Hadley and Jovan were giving me whiplash. She hated him and his attitude but yet kept sleeping with him, but she wouldn’t tell him about his own child? Like girl ur hooking up with him ur already at risk not letting him protect you is just dumb!!!! When she left his house to stay with Kennedy I knew it would end poorly aka with her ass being kidnapped! But I was really happy to see her badass side come out when she beat the shit out of Felix! Overall was not a good read there are many better written stories.

Cat’s Stats MMC/FMC- Jovan and Hadley POV- 1st person dual Genre- Mafia Romance (Cartel) Heat- 🌋🌋🌋🌋🌋 Early and often. Series? Probably. Safety: Yes, with HEA. Triggers- Language, explicit erotic content, graphic violence, kidnapping, blood, alcohol abuse* Tropes- Alphahole, Baby You Can Drive My Car-tel, Workplace Romance (Boss), One Night Stand, Sassy Heroine, Surprise Pregnancy, Dysfunctional Family FTW.
Mewsings What I liked- Holy Hannah, the zexytime! I think you could fry an egg on my Kindle. I liked how comfortable they were with each other, despite their friction and the reluctance to fall for each other. And I loved the flying sparks between them and the verbal foreplay. What I didn’t- that four-figure tequila being spilled was traumatic to read about. I’d call that *alcohol abuse right there.

🦈🦈ONE EXCEPTIONAL DELIGHT🦈🦈 Zapping zingers Zac! Kira displays this puppy with such style and finesse, bringing out all the mettle, moxie and sass racing head-long into this action-packed, hard-hitting, pulse-racing, jaw-dropping, rock-our-world, smackdown. Shenanigans, mishaps and havoc blasts through like a wrecking-ball, bringing this baby to heel as perilous twists and dubious turns aline, while the captivating drama, riveting intrigue, spine-tingling danger hair-raising suspense and tumultuous situations unravel. The smouldering allure, mesmerizing enthrallment and high-octane chemistry are off-the-charts and combustible. Illustrating 100% on point realism, enriching the scenes with such graphic scenarios that are so vibrantly descriptive and graphically depicted, balancing fluidly, constructing an elaborate backdrop so lush and adorned making the storyline explode. Excellent job Kira, thanks for sharing this awesome little guy with us.
I am so glad I got an ARC copy for this book. It was not at all what I expected, and it blew me away.
I used to not be a fan of surprise pregnancies, but it is these types of books that just make me fall so deeply in love with the trope and all it has to offer.
Hadley gets a job as a bottle service girl at one of Miami's most elite nightclubs. On her first night, she ends up spilling one of the drinks on someone who is sitting at one of the tables she is serving. After an extremely embarrassing encounter the two end up having a rather steamy night, which then gets revealed that this mystery man happens to be her boss and the owner of the nightclub and fires her after the night they spend together.
Hadley needs the money to put herself through university so that she can achieve her dreams of being an elementary school teacher. She then insisted that Jovan take her back, which, after not so thorough consideration, he allows.
Jovan and Hadley had so much chemistry that it was almost instantly that they gave into each other once again - ending in something that would change their lives forever. I swear these two were insatiable. Like every other chapter, there was smut, which is something to definitely not complain about.
The story was so well paced even though so much happened in the plot, as Jovan is the head of the Colombian Cartel, the crime aspect entwined its way through the plot massively with fights between enemies and more.
Seeing these two come together was probably the best part of the plot overall, and seeing them get their happily ever after at the end was all that I could wish for with them.
Hadley and Jovan will grab your attention, and you'll be hooked. This was an amazing romantic suspense filled with enough twists to make you dizzy. Hadley's only dream was to be a kindergarten teacher, and she desperately needed money for college to make her dream come true. Her life took a turn when she took a job at an exclusive Miami club and then slept with the owner. What happens when she finds out that the club is really a front for the cartel. What happens when she finds out who Jovan really is? Their chemistry was explosive, and they were drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. Secrets exposed and revealed. This book was well written, and you won't be able to put it down once you start reading. I read a free advance copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.
Mafia romance books always need a level of disbelief, and we enter on Hadley needing a bunch of money to pay for her last year of school as an education major. Hadley has always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher so that she could help abused and neglected children as she was never helped when she was growing up.
Enter Jovan and his attitude. Our couple hits it off with Hadley not knowing he's her boss. Spicy times abound with nary a birth control in sight. Hadley is not only super attracted to Jovan (and still working for him), but is now pregnant with his baby. With rival cartels and enemies swarming, Jovan and Hadley now have to figure out how to love each other and keep their baby safe.
Sleeping with the Boss, Surprise Pregnancy, Mafia Romance, and Happily Ever After.

I absolutely loved Hadley! She was strong, independent, and honestly wanted to do good in the world. Jovan was a different story. I loathed what he did to Hadley in the beginning! It was cruel and heartless! But…he really did win me over. His care for her, even though neither admitted their feelings, was clear. At times, he may have come off as controlling, but it was all based on his deep feelings, even if he didn’t fully admit it to himself. I understood Felix’s part in the story, but Carlos’s left me a little confused. I know there was a little twist in there but it went over my head. Honestly, I was all about Hadley and Jovan, and everything else, with the exception of Alessio, was secondary. Alessio seriously piqued my curiosity! I’d love a book for him!!!.

For the most part, this book was well written and held my attention. I really enjoyed that the pregnancy was about midway through the book and not at the very end. I also liked that it didn’t take forever for him to find out. That wasn’t the third act breakup, which thank goodness!
What I didn’t like was that sometimes the characters were written to be a little over dramatic. I wish there has been more depth to their characters other than what we were told upfront. I also wish that we had gotten more of her actual pregnancy other than her just being sick in order to tell us she was pregnant before she knew it herself.
Alessio, who was introduced in this book as a mafia boss in a different state, got a lot of pages considering he wasn’t a main character. I am interested in his story though.
A new author for me, so I wasn't really sure what to expect really. I really enjoyed this book. Rapture and Ruin, book one in the Mobster’s Obsession series, follows Colombian Cartel leader, and nightclub owner, Jovan Aguilar and waitress/student Hadley James. Hadley wants to become a teacher, so in order to do that, she applies to work at The Brazen, one of the highest paid (and best tips). On her first night, she becomes a bottle girl, where she manages to spill the entire contents of the bottle she is serving to one of the VIP customers.. that ends in a one night stand.. Only for her to discover that he’s her boss. But what happens when they can’t keep their hands from each other, and Hadley tries to hide the resulting pregnancy from him? Will he be mad? Or will he want to keep Hadley in his life, forever?
Hadley starts working as a bottle girl to pay for her last year of college after losing her scholarship. Her first night doesn’t quite go as planned when she spills a drink on Jovian… who own the club and is also a Cartel boss. She doesn’t know this and ends up taking him home with her that night. The next morning, he tells her who he is and fires her.
But Hadley needs this job and won’t take being fired lying down so she shows up at the club the next day. Jovian likes her fire so he lets her have her job back but as his personal bottle girl instead.
The two start seeing another but Jovian is terrified of letting someone close to him after his family was killed. But he can’t seem to let Hadley go…especially when he finds out they’re going to be starting a family
-enemies to lovers -cartel romance -boss x employee -surprise pregnancy -strong FMC
Can't Help but Fall for the Bad Guy... I really love these characters...Jovan is a bad boy that's easy to love...once you get past the initial rough exterior. Hadley is a strong and independent young woman who has walls built up and has a hard time letting people in, including Jovan. She's got secrets from her rough childhood and adolescence and it's what she's endured that has kept her so private and reluctant to trust others. Kennedy is her best friend and she does allow her in but still doesn't share everything with her. The heat and intensity of feelings between Jovan and Hadley are hard to miss. This story is a page-turner and the suspense kept me interested and wanting to know what happens next.

Hadley needs money to pay for the last year’s tuition to get her teaching degree. She has had a rough upbringing and wants to make a difference in young kids lives. Hadley signs up to become a bottle girl at The Brazen, first night on the job she spills a drink on a VIP patron. Jovan is the owner of The Brazen and is the person who gets liquor spilt on him. Jovan was unlikable in the beginning to me and how he treated Hadley after their one night together but he becomes lovable after that. I love a story when the guy falls first. The story has action, plenty of steam and some laughing moments.

Another great story by Kira Cole. This one had me sucked in from the very beginning. Hadley is one stubborn spit-fire. That stubbornness almost cost her everything. Jovan is a morally gray alpha who falls right away without realizing that’s what he’s done. He’s also the first to admit his feeling and the one who fights the hardest for their relationship. This story is non stop passion, a surprise around every corner, action, adventure and some really hot moments between the sheets, against the wall, in the shower and on the desk!!! I love Kennedy and Rio! I hope to hear about Alessio soon. Really great read!.

Hadley finally finds a job that will pay for her final year of college tuition and expenses at the hottest club in Miami as a bottle girl. But when she spills a bottle over an arrogant patron and when he gets rude with her, she tells him off. Unfortunately, he owns the club and she is fired. Jovan finds the sassy beauty intriguing and wants more. He is the head of the Aguilar Cartel and she is leery of him. The book is full of sizzle, steam, action, drama, twists, turns, and more. Well-written characters, fast paced storyline, for me, a solid read.

Hadley, a very strong willed Fmc with a traumatic childhood, has only ever had to rely on herself, enter Jovan, Cartel boss, also the owner of the bar Hadley has just started working at. Although these two butt heads continuously, they bring the fire when they are together. But with an old rival making an appearance, and an unexpected pregnancy, can these two make it out alive and have their HEA?
Seriously, I could not put this book down, I just had to finish it to see how it ended. I recommend reading it to find out!.

Rapture and Ruin is my favorite Kira Cole book to date! Main character Hadley is a spit-fire, take-no-bs, hard as nails female with a soft side and a desire to give back. Jovan is her perfect match, though neither of them know it until they are neck deep in a crazy twisted tale filed with intense emotion, plenty of action, and some seriously great twists. This book moves fast and is definitely not for the faint of heart. It is a gritty, determined, hits-you-when-you-least-expect-it love story that keeps your glued to the pages from start to finish.

Hadley is desperate to pay her tuition on last year of college, she takes a job at the Brazen. It is an elite club, she is hired as a bottle girl. She does not have the luck as she spills an expensive bottle of tequila on the owner of the club. Him being a jerk does not stop her from ending up in his bed.
He fires her from the club, but has another job in mind for her, he is also the head of the Aguilar Cartel. The pair have such chemistry and keep falling into to bed together, it is not long before there are two pink lines.

to me.... this book was an unbelievable fantasy book... they meet and she spills an expensive bottle of liquor on him.... they end up having sex and he fires her afterward as he is leaving ... yet when she comes back to beg for her job he hires her ... from their they fall into a relationship , she ends up preggo..... then eventually the bad guy comes into play.. and WE ALL KNOW how that will go ... THEN walla ....we have the happy ending .... I guess I would say it was an ok read... there was nothing special about it to me...
boy meets girl , boy gets girl and disaster strikes yet boy saves girl and they live happily ever after
Wow!! What a awesome book this was! The chemistry between Jovan and Hadley was off the charts hot. The banter, steamy scenes, and arguments were all such a force of nature between them. The action, drama and suspense kept me 0n the edge of my seat and kept me glued to the pages. Then the romance comes in at the end and gives you all the feels. The writing and storyline was fantastic and I loved the writing style. Fantastic read and one I highly recommend.

This book was such a great read. The chemistry between Hadley and Jovan was explosive and the way she stood up to him repeatedly was interesting. Jovan, the head of the Mafia runs a nightclub that Hadley gets a job at. This was really well written. I enjoyed the dialogue especially as it had a degree of snark and somewhat witty. The action was fast paced and the plot I enjoyed as it was really well done. It really surprised me at how good a book it was. Highly recommend this book!!.
