Tucker and Riley are finally ready to put the past behind them and start a new life together with her children. But when Tucker’s team is brought in to protect a wealthy dignitary who has received a number of threats, Tucker uncovers a frightening truth about the man he’s protecting, proof that the high-ranking government official is actually the Jackal and true puppet master behind the group his team thought they had shut down in Operation Jackal.
While the dignitary is under protective detail, he disappears and is on the run as a fugitive. It’s a race against time to end the Jackal’s reign of terror, before he silences them all.

3.5 rounded up. How many times does one character actually almost die?? There were some minor annoyances in this one but an exciting, “clean” adventure.

4.5 stars " . . . an unsettling feeling sweeps over me. Because something tells me that this is far from over."
Riley Bishop has been riding on the "far from over" merry-go-round for months on end. Finally! Finally . . . her childre are safe, her grievous past is in the rearview mirror, and she has the unconditional love of a good man, Deputy U. S. Marshal Tucker Shaw. And then, as often happens . . . everything changes.
Using connections to her deceased husband's business acquaintances, Riley and Tucker deep dive back into the dangerous world of an international crime enterprise. Can they bring down the network that was responsible for her husband's demise and her daughter's kidnapping?
The brilliance of this story is that so much happens in a brief amount of time, while the seams between scenes continue to flow at such a natural pace. It's a love story, it's a crime story, it's a faith story . . . . a romantic suspense trifecta!
This wraps up the series well with a number of surprises including, the identity of the individual heading up the trafficking business. Riley and Tucker receive an opportunity to 'holiday' with Christoper and Ana Wolf on their yacht in the Greek Islands and as you'd expect it's not all happy sailing for our dynamic twosome.
Like the other stories in the series there were a couple of things that stretched my sense of believability, however, this didn't take away from my enjoyment of the story. Interestingly, the question of the missing $25million continues to make itself present and creates an unexpected surprise.
Overall, it was a throughly enjoyable series. We also get to meet Samantha Jordon, who is the star of Harris' next series which I'm excited to start in September when the first story is released.
The suspense in this could have been great if it wasn’t so quickly wrapped up at the end. It was all resolved in like a minute right when it was getting good. I know all these books are short but it had so much untapped potential.
Also it felt extremely unrealistic that Tucker was surprised at a mission getting mildly hot. It made him come across as naive which he wouldn’t have been with his experience.
"A much as I want to protect them from everything, I know I can't take this away. I can't hide them from life, or even from what their father did. In the end, all I can do is pray that they become a man and a woman of faith who are grounded in God and His truth."
My least favorite of Harris’s books so far. The story is told in 2 different tenses & felt weird. The main female character speaks in first person. It’s an interesting mystery & story continued from the previous in this series but felt awkward in the telling.
Wayyyyyy too preachy. I put up with it in the other books following the first one but this one was over the top. I only finished it because I couldn’t not finish the fourth book.
When it is discovered Riley Bishop has a connection to the wife of the criminal mastermind Deputy US Marshal Tucker Shaw has been trying to take down for months, Riley and Tucker go undercover in hopes of finally getting the evidence he needs to dismantle the man's organization.
The Truth We Seek is the fourth and final book in the Shadow Stalkers series by Lisa Harris. The Greek setting was gorgeous in this final portion of Tucker and Riley's story. I was glad to see them get their happily ever after. The author gives a sneak peek into her next heroine, coming this fall.
Phew! What a gripping series! Not sure if this is the last Shadow Stalkers book - I kinda hope so for Riley's sake bwahahaha! And if it is the last book everything wraps up nicely. This is the first book that doesn't end on a cliffhanger, though I wasn't sure about that until the very, very end! Fast paced and intriguing. Wonderful romantic elements between Riley and Tucker. This is definitely a series that needs to be read in order. Or in my case, listened to. So enjoyed Melissa Redmond's narration!
