Frankie rolls into autumn by practicing her affinity (which drives her crazy), growing herbs for the coven garden (with a tiny bit of cheating), and building muscle tone (in case she stumbles across a dead body in need of hefting). Living with Ben and Cleo in her mother’s old house is peaceful, and she’s the happiest she’s ever been ... but someone is missing.

When Frankie receives a message hinting at Jessamae’s whereabouts, the coven—with the help of a familiar face—ships off to Las Vegas in hopes of finding Jessamae and prying her from the clutches of The Strip’s ruling class.

After Frankie makes an enormous and violent mistake, she is taken by the Las Vegas Sovereignty and forced into servitude—fighting in the witch pits against opposing affinities. Ben hurls himself into harm’s way to free her, and Frankie must play Vegas witches’ twisted games to get him back ... if she wants him back.

The coven’s been blown apart, no one is safe, and Frankie blames herself.

Maybe she should.

I slammed the 5 stars button so hard. 🩵🍑🍐This was an action-packed, tension-filled, laugh out loud funny sequel to Peachy. I am so looking forward to the final installment in the series!

Camri is easily one of my favorite authors ever. Definitely check this series out if you haven't already!

Tysm Lake Country Press & author Camri Kohler for the ARC!

Vegas, baby! Ahhh this sequel was so good and painful and traumatic. Sinking back into this friend group was such a joy and it took me WAY too long to remember that the author mentioned she's gonna tear this group apart a little. At least I was prepared!

There's a plot point that took me a while to be sold on because it removes some of my fave aspects of this series for a decent chunk of the book, but I quickly got over it because they introduced a new element that made it worth it (rhymes with Blanderson)! This series knows its strengths and leans on them hard.

The writing was on point, I love how the author can take a boring action and make it sound interesting as hell. The plot was FAST AND FURIOUS, I was shocked by how much stuff Happened in this book, the hits just keep coming! I was flipping pages so fast to see what happened next.

Anyway the CHARACTERS!! let me scream for a sec. I could sing odes to how much I love our surly, messy protag Frankie. She captured my heart yet again in this sequel. I'm so invested. She deserves the world. I know she's gonna go through hell YET AGAIN in book 3 and I can't wait to see it.

The old gang is stellar, and their interactions are so fantastic to witness. Also there are some new additions to the crew and though I was wary at first, they won me over pretty fast! I really should expect that by now. Every time this series introduces a MC I'm like eh, whatever. Then 100 pages in I'm like I would die for them. EVERY TIME.

VERY excited for the last book in this series. Can't wait to see how this journey ends.

I was beyond excited to be back with this crew of misfits as they traveled to Vegas in search of one of their own.
One of my most favorite things about Pared was seeing all of the different affinities sprinkled throughout. It’s such a creative way to write the magical-witchy characters, even the scary ones.
Without giving too much away, there’s adventure, temptation, betrayal, new friends and old, and of course, hilarious observations from Frankie-all with a nightmare undertone.
The last bit was extra intense and had me feeling all the feels. To say I need to read the third book asap is an understatement!

I was privileged enough to get to read this book before it's release, but I already know it's going to be one of my favourite books of the year. I loved the first in the series but Pared actually surpassed Peachy. The characters are some of my favourites ever and, although this book put them through it, I still love them. I just need book three to be written quickly so I can read it.

This book was AMAZING!!! I can’t wait for the third book. I hope it gets released soon!

Here are some quotes from this book that I loved (no context):
- Cuckoo-for-f*cking-cocoa-puffs. 🦜
- I stabbed and stabbed and stabbed. I screamed. He screamed. We all screamed for ice cream.🍦
- I peeled them off like candy cane stickers. 🍭

Peachy was great. Pared was even better. I couldn't put it down and it's been haunting me ever since I finished it. The main character is infuriating but the story is just so good. And Ben. I'm just in love with Ben.

It did not grip me as much as Peachy but I’m invested in Frankie and her messy life. The ending 25% did redeem it and I am looking forward to the next.

4.5 ⭐️ I loved being back with these dirtbag characters. While Peachy has my whole heart, I thought this was a great follow-up and I am so looking forward to book 3.

First read of 2024, and it's a good one.

My demands from the pub industry after reading this sequel: More feral queer girls being messy AF with their found family! More witchy horror-fantasy that leaves me with my jaw on the floor!!!

No spoilers, but AH, I want to talk about it so bad. I know this book *just* came out, but can I read the next one please?
