But to gain admission, she has to unravel the mystery of a woman who vanished decades prior. No big deal for someone with psychic powers, right?

Because she's quickly learning that in this coven, curiosity can unleash powerful forces from beyond the grave...and what is unearthed may change her life and heart forever.

We are back in Cypress Grove! I love this series! It checks all the boxes for me. This book made me laugh, smile, and even gave me chills at one point. I am so glad we got to meet Amelia’s mom. The relationship with her mom is very relatable. The change in their relationship is just enough to give reader’s hope for their own. Tiffany was a great addition to the last book, and I was happy to see she was back.

Oh wow! We got to see a different side of Oliver! I am pretty sure at one point I was smiling and blushing. Amelia is one lucky woman. I absolutely love the songs that are mentioned and how I can just hear them playing in my head. If this series had a soundtrack, it would be amazing. For someone who recently turned 40, Amelia and Liz make getting older seem just a little bit easier.

Thank you to the author for the copy in exchange for my review.

That was fun! I’m especially loving reading about a leading character that’s of a similar age to me, that speaks in the same pop culture references I recognize. Which meant that I spent a lot of time while reading this laughing my jaded old backside off. I enjoyed watching as Amelia followed the clues to discover what happened all those years ago. But I think what really kept me hanging on, was the desire to know what it would take to bring the villain to justice.

"Every Hex You Take (Crescent Moon Mysteries #3)" by Tara Lush is a very witchy paranormal cozy mystery. Also, if you're in the perimenopause phase of life (or remember it oh so fondly, ha) then you'll relate to the main character Amelia in this one more so than I think past books of the series. She definitely mentions hot flashes and other joys of getting older in the past books but because this one has an emphasis on the connections between Gen X specifically, it feels a bit more played up.

I personally fall at the very cusp of the millennial/gen x boarder, my birth year being one of the years that gets tugged back a forth. So, there were many references in this book that made me go "I remember that" or "oh, that was a good song." Essentially, Amelia is trying to finally figure out what happened to the coven found of the coven she is looking to join. They're a group of generationally connected women who had one of their founders go missing just before she could truly start helping others like her.

Amelia jumps right in, and her mother shows up unannounced and unaware of all the new things in Amelia's life. That goes about as good as actually could be expected. I totally expected a bit more drama there but really it went over pretty well. I'm glad for that since, really, after Amelia's childhood incident it shouldn't have been a surprise. Her mom also jumps into full force helping Amelia with her task for the coven. Some good mother daughter bonding.

In the end, and a bit as usual for these books, the real mystery clue hunting didn't take long to get to the culprit. It mostly came down to what can be done about them and get some clarity for the spirits involved.

Wow! Tara Lush has done it again. I love this series and can’t get enough of it. The characters are some of the best corkiest characters I have read about. I want to live in Cypress Grove and be a witch. The end of this book is truly amazing to the bigger picture story line. I saw that 2 more are coming out in this series and I will be just waiting to get my hands on them. Highly recommend this series and really anything from this author.

I really like seeing Amelia coming into her own powers and making witchy friends in her new home of Cypress Grove, Florida. Just because she is in midlife doesn’t mean she’s useless, in fact it takes her newly discovered magical powers to help solve a cold case murder.

Every Hex You Take by Tara Lush was a wonderful third installment in the Crescent Moon Mysteries series. I appreciated the continual exploration of Cypress Grove and characters. The mystery around what happened to the girls, kept me intrigued. I enjoyed the interactions between the mom and Amelia. Some of the pre-menopause moments had me laughing while others had me feeling sympathetic for Amelia. Overall, I really enjoyed Every Hex you Take!

It's finally June and I'm excited to read so many excellent June releases. First up is the third book in the Crescent Moon Mysteries, Every Hex You Take. I absolutely loved the first two and I've been so excited for this one. How excited? I woke up at 6am yesterday and the first thing I did was check my Kindle to make sure this book was ready to devour!

Amelia Matthews is settling into her new life in Cypress Grove, running an Inn that she has inherited and learning more about her psychic abilities. When she's approached to join a local "Gen X" coven, she's excited. However, before she joins they task her with trying to solve a cold case. Not one to leave a case unsolved, Amelia jumps straight in. However, this case might even test her sleuthing skills to the limit... especially when her mother turns up unexpectedly.

Being a Gen X myself I absolutely love this series! It combines real life issues that are currently affecting me [hello perimenopause] with my love of solving a good mystery! This time Amelia has to take on a mystery and her prickly mother at the same time! Sometimes the results are hilarious and sometimes it made me cringe inside for her, because we've all been there!!!!

"I can't wait for my crone era."
Mom's face contorted in horror, as if growing visibly old was the worst fate possible.

I really enjoyed the mystery. It's a cold case and links to one of the ghosts that Amelia speaks to regularly [I won't spoil it if you're new to the series] and let's just say it is thrilling to learn more about our local ghosts and how they have gotten stuck "in between". I especially loved the "unmasking" and watching all the coven sisters work together!

Every Hex You Take packs a tantalizing mystery, intriguing characters and enough Gen X references to make my little 80's heart soar! If you are looking for a middle-age sleuth, that has a lot of adventuring ahead of her, you can't miss this series!

Amelia Matthews is back at it in Every Hex You Take, and this time, she’s got more on her plate than just managing her charmingly haunted Crescent Moon Inn. She’s been invited to join an exclusive (and slightly intimidating) Gen X coven—but there’s a catch. Before she can earn her spot, she has to solve a decades-old mystery surrounding a long-missing woman. Armed with her psychic abilities, a bone (yes, a bone), and some clues straight out of a ‘90s time capsule, Amelia dives headfirst into uncovering the truth. But between nosy guests, her meddling (but hilarious) mother, and an exasperatingly attractive professor who may or may not be a walking distraction, let’s just say this case isn’t solving itself.

Tara Lush keeps the Crescent Moon Mysteries series delivering on all fronts: quirky humor, a compelling mystery, and a setting that makes me want to pack my bags and move to Cypress Grove immediately. The Crescent Moon Inn is basically a character of its own, bursting with charm and magical mayhem. Plus, the ‘90s nostalgia is next-level perfection. If you ever had a Tamagotchi, hoarded Lisa Frank stickers, or made a questionable mix CD, prepare to feel seen. Add in a slow-burn romance, some top-tier mom meddling, and a cast of delightfully weird side characters, and you’ve got another winner.

I’m giving Every Hex You Take a spellbinding 4.5 stars out of 5! It’s fun, fast-paced, and packed with the kind of cozy magic that makes this series such a treat. If you love witchy mysteries with humor, heart, and a side of chaotic family dynamics, consider this your official invitation to the coven. Amelia’s next adventure can’t come soon enough!

Loved it! 💖💖💖

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Genre: Paranormal cozy mystery

🔮 Set in an Addams family style inn (down to the pink walls and stuffed gator) in a town full of magical people.

😺 Includes multiple mysteries that happened in the past with a lot of loose ends and only a few clues.

🔮 Multiple laugh out loud moments that's incredibly relatable.

😺 Tiffany, the ever friendly and sweet, ghost is back! It was neat (but sad) to learn more about her backstory.

🔮 Features found family of multiple different types, living human and ghost. Not spooky ghost though, more like the friendly and cute ghost type.

😺 Loved Marisol's positive viewpoint on growing older. Embracing it rather than trying to hide from it. Honestly, I would love a cozy mystery focused around Marisol and her tea magic.

Overall, I loved this cozy mystery. It was a nice escape read to a slightly different but incredibly sweet town. Solving the multiple murders was fun and I really enjoyed the cast of characters.

I have a Linda of my own, my mother in law. The description, attitude, and negative comments are identical to her.  The magical change of heart in Linda was pretty nice though.  My hubby exclaimed "That's why it's fiction!" when I told him, but hey, I can always hope for a similar change of heart in my mother in law, right?

Definitely recommend this series. Tara Lush is a wonderful author and this series is quickly becoming my favorite for the year.  Can't wait for the next book.

I have read these books because it's nice to read something about someone around my age. I actually do enjoy the stories quite a bit and I believe they are well written. However, I am easily annoyed by certain things in books and, for some reason, this series stands on those nerves. For example, I appreciate a good 80s reference now and again. However, the Gen X references in this one felt a little heavy handed, like she has to mention her age/generation every few paragraphs. In addition to that, two other things bothered me: 1) I just want her to cuss. I know there's probably some reason that the author won't cuss, but it's getting ridiculous that a mid-life aged woman can't even think in cuss words. Her daughter is grown - it's time to get over that. 2) There were weird spots where things felt fast forwarded, like she rushed resolution to get to a different part of the story, even though the topic seemed important to Amelia. I think it would have been nice if the readers got to actually experience the resolution instead of jumping past these.

Every Hex You Take is the third book in the Crescent Moon Mystery Series.
I absolutely love this series! This book was a fantastic addition to the series.

I absolutely LOVE Amelia and her budding romance with Oliver.

Amelia has her hands full with trying to solve a mystery from years ago. She has been given the assignment from the Coven that she would like to join.

An unexpected visit from her mom and stepdad add to her troubles.

I really enjoy the midlife characters. As someone in that age, I can totally relate to the characters.

The magic is really done well, and I love Amelia's cat, Freddie Purrcury.

This is an excellent midlife cozy paranormal mystery that I highly recommend!

My thoughts:

I highly recommend reading the books in order. There is so much back story to main character, Amelia, you need to know. She’s quite the character along with her new friends. Another mystery awaits Amelia that she is determined to solve.
I love everything about this series!

This was another great addition to the Crescent Moon Mysteries!
Anna Maste continues to narrate this series. She has a real talent for voicing the quirky characters in this paranormal series set in Florida.

Amelia Matthews is getting closer to joining the Gen X coven in her new home of Cypress Grove. She first needs to solve an old mystery involving the founder of the coven. While this is going on, Amelia’s mom and step dad show up unannounced, and her boyfriend Oliver prepares to join his old rock band for a one night performance.

It’s fun to see Amelia embracing her new gift of psychometry, and using it to solve mysteries. I am looking forward to reading more about Amelia and her friends!

Amelia Matthews is invited to join the Gen X coven. As part of that, she is tasked with solving the mystery of the disappearance of Marigold, who was a founder of the coven. She is given a basket of some of Marigold's possessions to read. She is shocked when her mother and her husband arrive for a surprise visit. As she tries to investigate without her mother finding out she realizes she has to let her mother know she has come into her power. With that out in the open she uses the clues in the basket to find a finger bone and realizes she on the right track and hopefully she can find out what happened so Marigold can rest in peace.
Another great mystery in the series.

I enjoy the characters and the setting, I'veenjoyed the two previousbooks in the series. But days after I finished this third book, I was still troubled by the repeated disparaging comments about "boomers." I believe the comments were supposed to be humorous, but . . . Yes, I am a "boomer" and yes I can take a joke, but since the barbed comments were repeated it made me realize I'm apparently not the target market for the author.

Love this town and it’s quirky characters. And I really enjoy Amelia and the Inn. But the mystery took a long time to really get going and then sort of ended a bit abruptly. Basically, the pacing was not the best. And this one pushed the boundaries of cozy for me. I still plan on reading the next in the series but unfortunately the series has turned a corner into maybe too paranormal for my paracozy tastes.

It was nice to see a little more of where Amelia comes from through her relationship with her mother and navigating sharing her new life with her. Can’t wait for the next book!

The witchy vibes. The 80s and 90s musical references. The hot AND studious professor. This one has all that plus a complicated family dynamic. I love the women supporting women vibe, and the strong friendships found in these pages. The quirky Florida town is a whole character that feels just as real as Amelia and her friends.

Woman power

I enjoyed reading Every Hex You Take. Amelia and friends are characters I can relate to as I take part in midlife. I hope I'm as fun and can find this kind of friendship.
The mystery in this one is a bit dark. It was an interesting juxtaposition - Amelia's mother's feelings on aging and Esmerelda's.
I recommend this series as interesting and fun.

from music box to disco ball

In book two there was an incident in the upstairs closet, that happened twice and never brought up again. Would have been nice to know what it was! Also it was never said what the cat had said to one of the leaders. The leader said to the cat she would let her know, but it was never told.

repairing some gaps

I love that we get to see more positivity and friendship. We also see the gaps between generations with a mother daughter relationship as well.
The mystery was solved by teamwork and the repair of relationship and some paranormal witchcraft.

Overall Amelia has had some ups and downs but I still love this story.

As the series progresses, it’s obvious that Amelia has found her people. Love the found family friendships the quirky inn, and even the recipes on gravestones. You will not forget that Amelia is going through perimenopause, I assure you. It’s repeated and hinted at numerous times throughout.
