Perhaps they came home with a crestfallen face one day, the ghost of a playground rejection hanging heavy on their small shoulders.

The forward for this book is spectacularly good, the offerings less so.
I was expecting inspiring stories of real children and I’m sure there are a huge number of great stories about real children and their accomplishments.
These stories were cute, and sometimes very clever, however. Definitely they fit the age category they were written for but more on the young side.
The scan the whatchamacallit, and get a prize is also a clever addition for the modern phone savvy, but if I were a parent, I would not give a child that age group a phone!
Some of the tales didn’t make any logical sense; the first one I noticed was about the girl pirate that had a bit of a chaotic plot. Why would the map to the treasure be under the floorboards of the boat? If I were a kid, I would’ve immediately gotten annoyed and quit reading the story.
Most of the stories seem to be written to order and not by inspiration. “Let’s write a story about courage, or let’s write a story about patience.” For better stories that teach lessons, I would refer you to The BookHouse books, which I believe are still in existence, classic stories teaching similar lessons, but with really engaging characters.
The advice given at the end of each segment is very good advice, but really, how many kids who have been told “here’s a story that will teach you something” will want to read that story?
Lily captures the real magic our kids can see everyday by learning values and traits from their experiences. Whether it’s being brave, trying a little harder, or being happy for a winner, this book will help kids realize that things don’t always go as planned and that’s okay because they will learn something from it.
I love this book! It was a great book to read with my kids over the holiday break. The stories were engaging, and the pictures captured the interest of my children, inspiring them to use their imagination to create images as they listen to the story.
One day I was so bored and remembered oh I have kindle app and guess what I spent hours and hours on this app until dinner and it was 6pm for dinner and I started at 3:45 yes that’s how long
