TWO BODIES IN A FIELD OF SNOW. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE HOW THEY GOT THERE.
County Prosecutor Burke Wyatt is called out to a baffling crime scene. Two men have been executed and left in a field of freshly fallen snow.
Whoever did it left the bodies without leaving a trace themselves.
A HAUNTED MAN DRIVEN TO FIND THE TRUTH.
Tortured by the ghosts of his past, Burke can’t help himself from getting involved in the investigation, especially when the unlikeable local sheriff is unable to make headway.
As a former deputy sheriff who’d stepped back into the law to have a safer job for his family, Burke finds himself looking over his shoulder as he tries to track down the culprit, every turn causing more questions and bringing him nearer to danger. Even steps forward that feel like he’s closing in on the killer also make him think the killer is getting further away.
A MURDERER LURKING IN THE SHADOWS.
Burke soon figures out that there is far more going on than two murders, and he begins to fear they have a serial killer moving unhindered and unnoticed.
Burke’s skills and resolve are tested beyond what he thinks he can handle in this tale of intrigue, suspense, and thrills as he struggles to solve the puzzle.
Can Burke stop the killer before the person kills again?

I would be amazed if anyone actually finished this book without skimming and skipping. It is one of the most tedious and slow books I've ever read (read about 50 books a year). Just a horrible read.
Thrilling and suspenseful to the very end. I do not remember any profanity, which some writers seem to think is necessary to sell a book. Thankfully, this writer is not one of those!
What a crock take a four paragraph story and stretch it out!!!
If you are stupid enough to read this drivel let me tell you can skip pages at random and you won't miss much. I hate authors like this. Definitely not following him anymore.
Great storyline, the main character is a former police officer turned District Attorney, who had his world turned upside down. His wife was brutally murdered and the killer was never caught. Burke resigned from the Police Department and took the bar exam. The author understands the dynamics which exists between the police department and the District Attorney. The court room sequences were very realistic and the ending was great

One of the most overrated books I've ever seen. This was the equivalent of a daytime movie on the Lifetime channel. Very shallow and very predictable plot with some borderline ridiculous sequences. I probably would've enjoyed this book when I was 13 years old.
This was one of the most boring books I have ever tried to read. Constant use of Burke's name to start every sentence was tiring and unnecessary. Just not good in my opinion.
The plots.and sub-plots just kept coming. I don't think a judge would have given so much leeway to the defense attorney. That was a glaring weakness, compounded by her attributed culpability for a propoganda website.
Once again another good book until the very end. If you are look for a book with no foul language or sexual content all the books I have read by Dan Decker has been refreshing to read. Amazed how some authors uses such foul language, adds nothing to the story.
This was one of the best books I've read in a long time . Really great characters and a tense plot line . I wish there were more of this character and his story . Truly enjoyed every minute of the book. Thanks to the author ! 😊
A page turner that gets along at a solid pace. A plot that will keep you guessing throughout and a twist at the end that made me feel like celebrating. I loved this story.
I liked this book very much. It was a bit of a hard read due to the number of characters. The plot was good and the hero was a great guy ,worth the read.
I love all Dan Deckers books. My household chores suffer when I start a Decker book. Looking forward to the next legal thriller from Dan Decker. After reading all of his books, I found not one has disappointed me. Keep them coming, Mr. Decker.
