*Although this is part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone.*
Sometimes forgiveness is better than the alternative.
Connor: Cassandra Lewis has owned my heart for as long as I can remember. When I was nineteen years old, I told her I loved her for the first time … she said she loved me back, but two days later, she ghosted me.
For years, I’ve tried to hate her, tried to move on, but no matter how many women I bed, my thoughts always lead back to her. It doesn’t help when she’s my little sister’s best friend—she’s like a constant torture I can’t escape.
As soon as I graduated from college, I took a job in another state. I told my family it was all that was available.
That was a lie.
The truth is I was running from the woman who ripped my heart out and stomped on it like it meant nothing.
When my sister crosses the border to move in with me, the woman I can’t seem to let go of is back. The push and pull between us is stronger than ever, and it’s only a matter of time before we implode.
Cassie: I’ve obsessed about Connor Maloney since I was thirteen years old.
Believe me, I’m not alone.
His good looks and charismatic personality made him very desirable. I stood on the sidelines for years as he moved from one girl to the next … I was almost sixteen when he finally noticed me, and what a glorious day that was.
From the outside looking in, I had it all. Money, looks, talent, great friends, but what I lacked most in life was love. To my parents, I was a burden that stood in the way of their fancy jobs and lifestyles. I had an endless line of credit to placate me in lieu of their presence. Connor was the first person to show me what true love looked like, and consequently, I fell hard and fast.
Lying to my best friend was a heavy weight on my shoulders, but I was addicted to her big brother, and the way he made me feel, so I couldn’t let him go. That is until my mother got involved and forced my hand. The sequence of events that followed my altercation with her still haunts me to this day, but hurting him paled in comparison to the alternative.
All these years later, I can still see the longing in his eyes, but if he knew the truth of my betrayal, he’d hate me. How can I expect him to forgive me for what I did, when I can’t even forgive myself?

Finding Forgiveness by J.L. Perry is Connor and Cassie's story. Last time we saw them, Connor's sister Jacinta had walked on Cassie and Connor having sex. The previous books (Finding Love series ) are not necessary to read this book. However, the previous books are good and tell a continuous story that spans over a period of time. It's a really good read. Now, with Cassie fighting for her life, everyone is extremely worried about her, especially once they see her mother at work and her father is Mia. We know there is and was something going on between Connor and Cassie. Now we finally know what happened. This was a real emotional read. And I loved it. The chemistry between Connor and Cassie is off the charts. You could feel the love they had for each other, but secrets and deception are keeping them apart. Once all is revealed, my heart broke for Connor and Cassie. Regardless, there was plenty of humor that had me chuckling. Cassie is a good "Hot Mess." They definitely deserved their HEA. 4.5 stars for me. Looking forward to the next story, this author will tell. I really enjoy her style of storytelling.
Loved the story line, I’m sure we were all wondering what was going on with Cass’s family. Man these people & their crazy parents. Love Connor, he really is amazing, I however didn’t like his reaction to Cass’s news, I think given her age & obvious circumstances he should have responded better but other than that, he’s damn perfect with hot hot hot asf smut😍😮💨
I love all of Cass’s quirks, she is hilarious! She is fierce & loyal to a tee, such an amazing friend & man I felt all the nerves she had about her mum tryna ruin her life. Her’s and Jaz’s friendship is what everyone girl needs, someone who understands your crap but accepts you & love yous unconditionally!
Anyways HEA’s will always be my favourite ending no matter what. Loved this series & look forward to Angel’s story but The Stranger has caught my eye & I can’t wait to dive in👌🏽
I must say apart from being bummed at the way the MMC reacted to the "news" (he should've heard her out, overall the FMC was strong, the MMC was his family was a good support system, and I was surprised and glad that from her own kin, there was a supporter as most books of similar storylines usually have the whole family turn out against them. So, I was glad with how everything was handled maturely and for the support that she had and I am glad we got multiple sneak peeks of the future to understand how she got closure and the future she has with the FMC now that there was no one stopping. I really also loved the whole trip that she took and the new things she was trying in the book and trying to find herself again!
Connor and Cassie!! Secret childhood sweethearts as it was against the rules to date your sisters best friend.
But that all turned to dust at the hands of Amanda, Cassie’s vile mother. For 6 years, Cass and Con tried to hate each other but some love will always conquer all.
I loved this story, the light and shade, the angst and the sorrow. It had moments of humour, moments of trauma and moments of hope, but most of all, this book had so much love. Love between friends, siblings, parents and strangers. J.L Perry always writes a story that is equally as relatable as it is comical and I always look forward to future books from this author.
In this story about Connor and Cassie, we discover why, as teenagers, their relationship didn’t work out. Let’s just say that Cassie’s mother was truly evil!
Getting to know both lead characters, their history and the reason for their breakup was terrific. It gave clarity to each character, especially Cassie, as her growth was amazing. Fair warning, though, get some tissues ready, as this story is full of emotions.
This was a fabulous romance with quite a lot of humour added—from the funny banter between characters to humorous scenes. This lightness balances the darker aspects of the story.
Connor had one great love in his life & that’s Cassie, she’s his younger sisters best friend. A few years ago Cassie walked away from there love & said good bye leaving Connor heart broken & on a never ending train of females.
Cassie still loves Connor but is keeping a secret that’s destroying her & her mother is a big part to play.
Come along on the love journey of these 2! There will be hearts broken, Secrets told, love grown.
I loved the original of this book but this one’s so much more ❤️
thank you Jodi for bringing us another beautiful love story
My heart! Such a beautifully written, heartfelt, gorgeous story! Connor and Cassie melted my heart.
This story is full of ups and downs. My heart ached, I shed tears, I laughed, I smiled. I love the camaraderie and bonds between these beautiful characters. I love the laughs mixed in with the heartache. What a heartfelt journey of love.
“You were the dream I went to every time I closed my eyes.”
Cass and Conner have a storied past full of barbs and lies. Underneath all of that angst, Cass finally needs to unburden her soul. Either Conner will stay or he won't. Conner has only loved Cass and with Cass sharing what caused their rift causes Conner to double down on his efforts to show Cass real love. This story has all the feels, love, drama, angst, humor and high spice level. This story was an enjoyable read.
Connor and Cassie have been in love since they were little. Falling out has led them to an enemy's viewpoint of love. But Connor is still obsessed with Cassie and will do anything for her. The story brings an end to a great series. Perry gives emotional depth to her characters and the flaws that the common person has. Yet, it’s these flaws that they become emotional beings that you want to read more about. I’m sorry the farm, and the names of the animals were hilarious.
This was a solid 3.5 ⭐️ second chance/enemies to lovers romance. It had the steam, the angst, the banter, the romance. I feel like there was more needed re Cass and her mother - i really wanted to see Logan haul her over the coals.
Overall, the story kept me interested, and having previous characters make appearances was great too.
Loved Cassie and Connor's story. The characters are amazing and her struggles are real. Controlled by a mean mother, Cassie has to make hard choices. Connor struggles with these but he can't forget the love they shared and he still feels. Brought to her side in a crisis, Connor will do whatever to help her. As past secrets are revealed their relationship changes.
Finding Forgiveness was sooo good,I couldn't stop reading. I love how all the books are interacting. J.L.Perry has written an amazing series...can't wait to read the next one...I've laughed,I've cried,I've fallen in love with both her leading men and women too, and every one of them have become family. Don't miss these books 📚.
Loved this series so much it may have triggers for some but it was so good I had to keep reading them all and I love how you still get to here what the other characters from the other books are doing these books have so much I cried sighed laughed till I had tears and a lot of aww didn't see that coming but loved them all
I loved this book! I couldn’t wait to read the back story about Connor and Cassie. And I enjoyed how JL Perry provides the continuation of characters from the previous books in the series. Bring on book #5 :-)
I loved Cassie & Connor’s story. What an emotional and heartbreaking book. It did also make me laugh, especially the part about Henry & Henrietta 😂. I feel a little lost after this series. I hope Angel’s book comes soon! 🤞🏻
Loved all of this series. Loved the characters. Laughed and cried at some of Cas's antics. Glad they got their happy ever after and we saw more the gang.
