Divorce. It sucks. Especially for Izzy Thompson. The last place she ever expected to return to was the mountain she grew up on. But when she and her husband, Steve, decide its best for their daughter if they go their separate ways, she finds herself living with her parents. It isn't an ideal situation, but Izzy needs a steady place to land until she can get back on her feet. And she knows her daughter could benefit from some much-needed time with her grandparents. When her ex, Brady, offers her a job, she can't refuse the pay or the perks that come with it. Determined to keep their confusing, messy, toxic past in, well, the past, Izzy sets ground rules to keep them in check. No flirting. No contact outside of work. No mentioning the past. Ever. The ground rules only work for so long, though. The more time she spends with Brady, the more Izzy finds herself falling for him all over again. Rules, after all, were made to be broken.
Jessi Hansen was raised in sunny San Diego, but her heart found its true home in Oklahoma, where she followed love all the way to the quiet hum of small-town life.
Now, she spends her days surrounded by the beautiful chaos of motherhood—chasing after little feet, tending to backyard chickens, and keeping an eye on the ever-changing sky. In the rare quiet moments, she finds comfort in words: the ones she reads to her children, the ones exchanged over shared coffee with her husband, and the ones she weaves into stories of her own.
Jessi writes heartfelt tales about spirited heroines and the men who see them clearly—stories rooted in love, resilience, and the kind of endings that make you believe in second chances. Her books are a tribute to family, friendship, and finding beauty in the ordinary.
I've been waiting for Izzy's story for a long time. I have a tender spot for stories about second chances. In this book we can observe the incredible development of the characters, how they have changed and matured. I'm glad that they were able to openly admit their mistakes and not repeat them. Team Brady forever <3 Apart from the main characters, I watched entire family with great pleasure. Fans of the series will definitely like the story. And I can't wait for Liam's book!
I’ve read All of the books so far in this series and love this one the most so far the way Izzy and Brady found their way back to each other makes their happily ever after so much better. Can’t wait for the next book❤️❤️❤️❤️
4.75 ⭐️ the only reason I am not giving a full is because I felt the story line was a bit rushed. I get that they’ve been in love with each other for YEARS and finally are able to be together. Maybe I just selfishly wanted more of these two 😂 loved their story regardless!
