It isn’t the length of the fangs, it’s how they use them.
While I’m searching for meaning in my former bestie’s ominous social media posts, my two vampire Doms are puzzling out a mystery of their own—dangerous messages and the reappearance of an unnamed enemy from their past.
Xander is beginning to open up and trust that I won't go running. Will continues to wrap me in his arms and deliver the most delicious discipline.
With every passing night, I’m falling more and more in love with them both. I’m also getting more and more tangled in their dangerous world. And despite the terrors I find in the city’s supernatural underground, I wouldn’t change a thing.
The deeper I fall, the more I like the darkness.
Ouch! My Vampire Doms Have Really Long…Fangs is the fourth book in a planned six-book series featuring kinky vampires, a heroine in distress, and all kinds of paranormal drama. It was published as Episodes 44-55 of the serial Ouch! My Vampire Doms Keep Biting Me on Kindle Vella. If you want to read ahead or check content warnings, please visit the author’s website.
I think stopping in the middle of the book back in February or March was not my best idea because I pretty much forgot much of what happened in this book. Well that says something about how memorable the plot is.
I did feel like the foreshadowing the author tried to do was... kinda bad. You cannot mention a character for the first time in a chapter and then in the next chapter have it revealed as the masked person in the book. That is not how you do great foreshadowing and storytelling.
The writing flows as per the usual but it somehow felt a bit more juvenile this time around.
Anyway, the usual complaints about the author breaking down a book into novellas and selling them for $5 each or so. Yaay, capitalism. Fortunately they are available to read on Everand, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this review.
We learn more about Will and Xander's past. About Elisabeth. And her death. Autumn is so supportive of her two vampires. They try to protect her. But things go astray. As with previous books, the romance has plenty of spicy steam. Warning there is again consensual spankings. I love the storyline. One book smoothly blends with the next. So it should be read in order. Will and Xander are very devoted to Autumn. They also have to figure the cryptic messages from Autumn's best friend. Why is she sending them and can they figure them out in time . Can't wait to finish binge reading the rest of the series.
I am hooked on Calista Jayne and her spectacular stories. Book four in the My Vampire Doms series, Ouch, My Vampires Have Really Long Fangs reveals many secrets about Autumn's illness and brings more danger around every corner. Someone else is out for revenge against Xander and Will and Autumn's step dad has not given up. Ouch, My Vampire Doms Have Really Long Fangs is A must read if you enjoy paranormal romance with a twist. Again, be prepared for a cliff hanger because the story is not done yet.
Book 4 - and this series just keeps getting better. We learn about Will and Xander's past and Elisabeth and how she really died. In this book we learn that there is another "evil" in town - friend or foe? Dale is still after Autumn; best friend is sending weird messages; meanwhile Autumn is getting better and the hot keeps getting hotter. Great series - on one hand can't wait to see what happens on the other, I don't want the stories to end.
I liked this installment. I think the depth of the relationship grew, and really seeing how they handle the stress and pressures of their situation was admirable. Spice was great.
*Immediately finishes this book and starts the next*
I am so invested in this story! Love the two conflict lines and LOVE THE TWO VAMPIRE DADDIES! I’m so glad the relationship between Autumn, Will and Xander is developing how it is!
Jealous? Am I jealous of a girl who is on the run from a murderer and got stabbed with an arrow? Mmm yes I am. I don’t regret it.
This series is exciting and HOT! Onto the next book..
Autumn, Will, and Xander are back in the fourth installment in the Vampire Doms series, and I'm loving how the plot is really starting to ramp up. The first few novellas were more about establishing the main characters' relationships, but now Jayne has fully moved onto the bigger dangers that Will and Xander will do anything to protect Autumn from.
I really like the fact that Jayne gave Autumn her own distinct problems, separate from what Xander and Will were facing; it gave Autumn much more agency, since she isn't just some woe-is-me female lead who must choose between love and safety. Since all three main characters are puzzling out their issues, it allows for the main characters to grow together, rather than forcing them into any unequal power dynamics. The type of relationship that Will, Xander, and Autumn have is all about equal footing, and it was nice to see that extend beyond their bedroom.
Jayne's spice is always on point, and I loved the time we got with the three leads as they explored their base instincts. Since this is a novella, the amount of spice wasn't over the top; there was definitely plot, character development, and spice all within this installment. This was a quick read, but a worthy addition to Autumn's growing romance with Xander and Will.
