Collections are an opportunity for writers to show readers all the different things they can write. This debut collection does exactly that. With stories about possession, people eating houses, and monsters; this collection has stories that encompass a varied experience of horror.
Akin to Netflix and the binge mentality, short stories have felt in the past more like sprints instead of a marathon. Most blow through their allotted portions in hours, while some, who are more patient, allow each story to speak for itself. “All The Little Voices” is thankfully the latter and I felt reward by taking my time with each of these stories. From the perspective of a filmmaker too, many of these would make wonderful adaptations.
I had a feeling this collection was going to be good, I just didn’t realise how good!
Wow. This was just fab. Colour me impressed very. After reading this fine selection of short stories, I definitely want to read a full length novel from Angel Krause.
The Mirror State was a super spooky opener, with some very scary imagery.
A Warning Dismissed was found footage perfection.
The Eternal Justice of Man was simply stunning. A flawless price of sci-fi horror that’s going to live in my head and heart for a very long time.
I really got into short story collections this year and horror is one of the best genres for them. It never ceases to amaze me how an author can get in and out so fast and make so much happen in so few words and this collection is a great example of that. My favorite story in this is about a sentient house. Yes it’s dark but I pictured them being best friends.
Angel delivers a wonderful collection of short horror stories that run the gamut of sub-genres. Each story packs a punch with well thought out characters and scares!
There's nothing about this collection I don't love. Angel weaves love, celestial revenge, horrific deaths, and stomach-churning gore into a well-rounded bunch of stories that go wonderfully together.
