Two star hockey players and their best friend’s little sister in a runaway bride rom com!
Picture this. I’m about to walk down the aisle when the groom decides to drop this news on me – he wants to dial it down to just f-buddies.
That’s when my brother’s two pro-hockey playing buddies sneak me out of the church seconds before the wedding march begins. They whisk me away in a convertible and we hit the open road.
But what’s a runaway bride to do with a broken heart and a non-refundable honeymoon? Book an extra ticket and take a double honeymoon with two off-limits, totally charming, absolutely gorgeous star athletes who want to lift my spirits.
When we arrive there’s only bed in the hotel room.
And it happens to fit three. The goalie, the forward and me. Looks like I’m about to get thoroughly pucked on my double honeymoon. Talk about lifting my spirits…
Thoroughly Pucked is a standalone hockey, brother’s best friends, runaway bride MFM romance with a guaranteed why-choose style HEA! No swords cross. This story is perfect for fans of spicy hockey romance!

Uffff. I love me a duet-narrated book, and this one has three amazing voices. Teddy Hamilton and Jason Clarke are 😮💨🫠 and Samantha Brentmoor is amazing as well. These three were music to my ears (but, obviously, I was 🥵 over the male narrators more 🫠).
Aubrey/Aubs (mid to late 20s?) is getting married, and she doesn’t want to 😬. It’s her wedding day, she’s in her wedding dress, and she’s dreading walking down the aisle. She’s with her two bffs (the h’s from books 1 and 2) when her fiancé comes in, in normal clothes, to basically tell her that he doesn’t wanna get married.
His reasoning? He wants to be able to f tons of people 🙄. He doesn’t wanna only be with her; he wants lots of options 🙄. He even propositions her to f later on as a way to say goodbye before he leaves to the airport to his trip on his new mindset 🥴. The. Damn. Audacity 😑.
Luckily for Aubrey, she has a brother who has amazing friends, and these friends are gonna support her through this “tough” time (which isn’t so tough, but hey, they don’t need to know 🤣).
Dev (29) has kind of been crushing on Aubrey for a little while. So when her brother, Garrett, asks him and Ledger (34) to take his sister away from the wedding drama after being jilted, he doesn’t hesitate ❤️. They’re down to do anything for her.
These two even find a way of getting back at her ex for being a big D (pun intended 🤣🫣😈; you’ll understand why when you read this 🤡). They even decide to join her on the honeymoon she was supposed to go on with her ex.
The honeymoon is just supposed to be a fun getaway, a friendly one…
But once they’re there, things get a little 🔥.
I mean, what are friends for? 😈😉
What I liked/loved: —the 🔥. Look. If I’m gonna read a menage, I best get some good 🔥, and this had it in spades 😉. First kisses happen about a third of the way in, but by 40% ish, it’s full 🔥. Sharing is caring right 🥵? Dev and Ledger don’t mind sharing Aubrey 😉. We even get some DP scenes too 🔥. As expected 💦💅
—the diiiiirty talk 🫠. Ufffff 🥵. It was 😮💨. Couple it with some praise k 💦 and it had my kindle melting. And don’t get me started on the narrators 😅. Fiiiiiilthy AFFFFF🔥😮💨
—the scotch sharing kiss 🫠. I mean. Yes please 😅
—how protective the men are ❤️. They want to make sure she feels okay, and constantly check in on her as they spend their vacation away from distractions 🫶
—the swoon 🥹. These they made my heart melt ❤️
—life’s realities ❤️. I love how this is addressed. Not everything is rainbows and butterflies, and sometimes there are things people need to face. Because hockey is an intense sport, it’s not something people can do all of their lives, and it’s a reality hockey players (and other athletes too) need to think about
—chasing dreams 🥰. You’re never too old, too young, or too inexperienced to try something new
—ANIMALS 😭🥰🥰🥰. I love that all the books in this series has pets in them, so it helped me connect with the characters even more 🫶
—never giving up 👏🏻
—how seamless their relationship works 👏🏻
What I wanted now of/didn’t like: —more epilogues 😭. I love the extended epilogue we get, but I wanted more 😅
—although I didn’t love the fact that the guys have shared a woman in the past, I understand why it makes it so that they CAN have an HEA with Aubrey. That experienced helped them understand how to properly share while also validating any mixed/hurt feelings. Communication is important and this helped them establish that 🤷🏻♀️. I didn’t exactly hate this 😅 surprisingly lol. Plus, it didn’t bother Aubrey at all 👏🏻
Overall, I loved this book 🥰. It gave me the 🔥 I needed 😉
⚠️safety squad⚠️ -no cheating*/owd -sharing: it’s a menage 🤷🏻♀️ -OMD: the h’s ex fiancé causes some mild drama. The Hs get back at him 🤣 -one of the H’s (the divorced one) was cheated on. The h was kind of also cheated on by her fiancé (he was being suggestive at his bachelor party). The other H was made to feel inferior by an ex -dirty talk/spanking/slight exhibitionism/praise kink/face sitting/anal play -condoms/no condoms in the epilogue/they’re all clean and she’s on birth control -HEA/epilogues/a week later/months later/bonus epilogue: a year later
“They’re like a mango smoothie. The contented sigh of a dog. A good haircut. Getting your nails done. Going shopping with friends and finding a great discount. Listening to a song that just feels like it moves your soul. I think all of those things do it.”
— and this is what this book, this series is like. Like the easy things you fall in love with.
This book is love language on paper. It’s a learning experience of self discovery and finding the beauty in change. I love this series.
“This moment is mine, and if life is all about moments, if it’s about squeezing joy out of the seconds that fall too quickly from our fingers, then I want all the filthy joy I can get from life right now”
“time is just time. It doesn’t have to flow perfectly. It doesn’t have to line up according to rules. Life is short and real love doesn’t come around often. If you don’t grab it, it might pass you by”
one thing about Lauren Blakely is she is going to write a fun sexy MFM romance and absolutely nail it.
—MFM romance —hockey —brothers best friend —runaway bride —bourbon versus scotch
I absolutely adored this book. It was fun. It was spicy. It was such an all around heart pounding, cheeks blushing read and I loved every minute.
Ledger, Aubrey, and Dev were so good together, their chemistry was on fire, and the SPICE!? Excuse me while I go drink a tall glass of water to cool down.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hockey romance where the bride and her groom break up but her brothers best friends are there to help her forget all about the not so nice groom. You won’t regret adding this one to your TBR. Might need a fan to cool off 😏.
This was hot as fuck like reaaaaaallllly HOT. Also runaway bride is a trope I need more of because it just hits every time. This was my first book from Lauren and won’t be the last, I love how spicy and fun her writing is. The first scene with the 3 of them?! Oh boy 🫠 this was a fun trio to read about and go Aubrey for getting not one but two hot hockey players
this was so so cute and made me feel so giddy the whole time reading!! ledger and dev are top tier and treat aubrey so well, i truly couldn’t get enough.
also THE spice 😮💨😮💨😮💨 the way these men absolutely worship her >>>
nothing disappointed me and i loved being back in this world again!
I said i wasn't going to read this, but a friend said to, so I did. We hot Mentions of these charas last book and this book it seems all charas were single or divorced. And one about to be married. Aburey is getting married, and she has her doubts . When her ex tells her he doesn't, she's happy but annoyed/angry at why he wants to break it off and wants to bang her still. Thanks to her brother, he sends Dev and Ledger to save her. And they do both hockey players have been burned by exs, and they say why, but there's no drama with them. Now they are making sure Aburey is okay and they have a day.
They go on her honeymoon with her, and that's when things turn up. They also in the past share a woman, so they have rules. Until they are breaking them. I love how different dev and Led were one felt like a cinnamon roll and the other a grump but totally soft for Aubrey.
Tiny om (ex fiance)/no ow, no cheating, slight secondary character, tiny drama, sexy times, no virgins

My Star Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐ My Spice Rating: 4/5 🌶️ Favorite Characters: Dev and Ledger
Thoroughly Pucked is the third book in the My Hockey Romance series of interconnected standalone stories.
Synopsis: Although she has not voiced them, Aubrey is having second thoughts about marrying her fiancé. She is both shocked and relieved when Aiden breaks it off 10 minutes before she is set to walk down the aisle. Her brother’s two best friends rescue her from the situation which leads to a week of adventure that includes going on what would have been her honeymoon trip. The two best friends, Dev and Ledger, just happen to be hot hockey players…and there is only one big bed.
My Thoughts: I am obsessed! A funny, MFM hockey romance with Why Choose? SIGN ME UP! I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and could not put it down. This is the first book I’ve read by Lauren Blakely, and she did not disappoint. I am ready for more! This book is well-written, and the pacing is perfect. The characters are well-developed, and the inclusion of multiple points of view is done extremely well. I can’t get enough of Dev and Ledger. They are so different, yet both are completely swoon-worthy. Dev and Ledger are the perfect men…supportive, completely committed to the relationship, thoughtful, open to trying new experiences, emotionally intelligent, and communicative. I enjoyed the growth of the female main character and witnessing her journey of finding her voice. There are some seriously HOT scenes in this book! Although this is a very spicy read, I appreciate the book being plot-driven. Lauren Blakely grabbed my attention from the start, and this was an addictive read in the best way. Thoroughly Pucked is a story of relationships, friendships, family, love, growth, and acceptance.

Thank you to Candi Kane PR and Lauren Blakely for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
This is one of those books that will leave you with the overwhelming sense of "GOOD FOR HER" because if there's one thing Aubrey deserves after watching both of her best friends find their dream throuples, its a dream throuple of her own.
Dev is so hot. Ledger is so hot. They do the thing where they talk about Aubrey like she isn't there during spicy scenes. It's all hot and sweet and hilarious and 10/10 would recommend!
Lauren Blakely's why-choose romantic comedy, Thoroughly Pucked, centers on hair stylist Aubrey Emerson, hockey goalkeeper Devon, and forward Ledger McBride.
I feel like this novel had a lot of potential due of its characters and tropes, but I wasn't really feeling it.
Although I found each character to be incredibly fascinating and entertaining on their own, I didn't feel that there was any connection or chemistry amongst them.
Having said that, this book demonstrates how to write the trope of the best friends brother/brothers best friend. Not too dramatic or drawn out scenes.
I didn’t really love this book, but I also didn't hate it, so I don't have any thought or comments on it.
*Thank you to Good Girls PR and to the author, Lauren Blakely, for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.*
We loveeeee a hot trio 🤭💦 and boy did this book bring some HEAT!!! AND THE NARRATORS WERE SO FIRE FOR THIS BOOK!!!!!!
Also I’m so annoyed bc I had a whole freaking review typed out and it glitched so I lost it. Ugh goodreads!!
Aubrey is about ready to walk down the aisle when her douche of fiancé comes in and ends things, but don’t worry he still wants to be friends with benefits. HE WISHES. Don’t worry he gets his comeuppance ;) Two of her brother’s best friends, who also happen to be hot hockey players, are there and ready to help her escape the heck outta there and make it their mission to make her feel better. What she wasn’t anticipating was still going on her honeymoon with these hotties & having the time of her life. The three of them have some amazing chemistry & both Ledger & Dev are such a good match for Aubrey.
Ledger was the grumpy, plant daddy with a dirty mouth & I freaking lovedddddd him. Dev was the sweeter of the two and was so swoony & thoughtful. Ahhhhh I loved them.
Listen… the hiking scene was so hot & I am so jealous of anyone that gets to read it for the first time. Because wow 🔥
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Tropes: Rom com Runaway bride Brother’s best friends MFM Hockey romance Only one bed
From the very first scene of this hilarious and super spicy story I knew it was going to be completely engaging and adorable. I love the characters, they’re hilarious, kind and their chemistry is smoking hot. It starts with a runaway/jilted bride being helped to get away from the drama and embarrassment immediately by her brothers two best friends. (Pro hockey players who happen to be super s€xy.) It’s such a spicy, fun and happy story. I love the lack of big angst, I love the quirk factor and it’s so incredibly hot! The drama is minimal and it’s funny drama. One jilted bride and two hottie hockey players… delicious! I’m loving this series. It’s fun and has great secondary characters. The spice is high and it’s a fabulous escape from reality.
This was my first read by Lauren Blakely and it was a wild time!
I felt like this story mostly consisted of spice and honestly in the moment, I was here for it. I loved the why choose moments and the balance between Dev and Ledger's respective characters. I personally loved Ledger and his stern brunch daddy attitude.
I felt as a whole the story was unique and a fun time. It wasn't the best plot I've ever read; however, I still had a good time reading.
Lauren's comedic writing throughout had me giggling and was a great palette cleanser for all the sexual tension.
Thank you Good Girl PR and Lauren Blakely for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Too long, the characters had the emotional depth of a fly even if one of them was a "shrinks kid". This was obviously made for book tok I got that at the SECOND Taylor Swift reference, (I like taylor swift I hate when authors reference her in books). I just can't get over how little depth the characters have and honestly I started this for the spice and even that disappointed me, it felt very rushed.
Thoroughly Pucked is the third book in the My Hockey Romance series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Aubrey is minutes before her wedding, but she’s nervous. It’s not the pre-wedding jitters, her gut instinct is telling her it’s not right. Cue her husband-to-(not) be telling her he just wants to be f*ck buddies before leaving the wedding ceremony. Aubrey’s brother’s best friends, Dev and Ledger, help her get out of the church. And her brother tells them to take care of her. So they all go on her non-refundable honeymoon together.
This book was so hot! Dev and Ledger were so different, but they were both good for Aubrey. On her honeymoon, they all discovered more about not only each other, but themselves as well. Dev and Ledger were both patient, caring, understanding, and loyal. Seriously, when they agreed to give her time and said they’d wait? Ugh. (I would’ve been mad if she’d actually gone through with that whole waiting period .)
I’m so glad Aubrey got her HEA with not one, but TWO hot hockey players. This book had hilarious moments, some seriously spicy moments, sweet moments, and self-discovery.
This was a cute fun read, but it definitely wasn’t a favorite. If you’re looking for short chapters and steamy spicy scenes, this is for you. But for the girlies who need more development, then this might not be for you. Don’t get me wrong, the spicy scenes were spicing. Like the tension beforehand, the hike scene, and the taste test 🥵🥵. I also loved the nicknames, honey and sweet thing 🤭. Despite the fact I didn’t enjoy the development in the romance department, I did like how thoughtful they all were of each other. But it wasn’t enough to make me invested into the story and the characters. In my opinion, the book was a little too long, the chapters were too short and didn’t have enough insight into the characters individually.
I received this book as an e-arc, and all my opinions are 100% truthful.
Favorite quotes/scenes:
*Aubrey staring at Dev shirtless* “Aubrey, do you want me to pick up your chin from the ground?” (Ledger) “Why…?”
“I didn’t finish, but I liked it. A lot.” (Aubrey) “Things you wouldn’t say with us.” (Dev) Us.
“Does it bother you that this is all new to me?” (Aubrey) “Sweet thing, it fucking excites me.” (Dev) “The things we can introduce you to.” (Ledger) “The ways we can touch you.” (Dev) “The places we can take you in bed.” (Ledger)
“I want to kiss her. I want him to kiss her. I want to tell her that taking me to that plant shop and taking him to this grilled cheese joint is just doing it for me. Making me feel like I could escape into her. Because of what she does for me, for him, and for us.” (Ledger)
“He’s the storm to Dev’s sunshine. But my heart flutters wildly since I want the storm and the sunshine.” (Aubrey)
“You could be wearing a stained sweatshirt and ripped pants. You could have on clothes that are ten sizes too big. You could be wearing no makeup—you could not even have brushed your hair. You could have a cold. Or the flu. I’d still think you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” (Dev)
“I fell a long time ago.” (Dev) “You did?” (Aubrey) “I did.” (Dev) “Really?” (Aubrey) “Yes, really.” (Dev) “That’s why you said you’d wait for me?” (Aubrey) “No. I fell for you before that week. During that week, I knew you were worth waiting for.” (Dev)
“I’m between my two men, starting a whole new chapter before I expected to. But I have zero doubts. I’m ready. There is no second guessing. No voices in my head telling me to run away. All I want is to stay.”
“For a lifetime of adventures.” The start is in June, when we return to Vancouver to finish the trip we started last year. Then go on to have many, many more. And I say yes with no reservations.
Lauren, miss ma’am. I’d like to have some words with you. Because this was fucking fantastic and I need to know how you do it.
Seriously, I loved every single part of this book. The pacing was perfect, the characters were relatable, the writing was immaculate, and it was so spicy I was sweating. That hike!? iykyk. I needed to walk around my house after that because I was jealous.
Aubrey, honey. It’s totally okay that you’re piece of shit almost husband dumped you at the alter to go fuck other people. He didn’t deserve you anyway. Truly, I loved her. I loved the development in her character, the fact that she had a regular job (and it wasn’t some unnamed position in ‘marketing’), and that she took her time deciding what she wanted.
Dev. Oooooooh baby. This man has my lady parts all twisted up in the best way. He is feral for his woman and we all deserve that. I loved that he didn’t shy away from his emotions (for the most part) and his Daily Dose of Good. I would happily read a book just about Dev because I loved him so much.
Ledger. This man. Stern Brunch Daddy. Plant Daddy. Daddy. Oh my god. I, in fact, do not have an ass, but for Ledger, I’d do a thousand squats a day. I adored the fact that he had a one eyed cat and even though everything wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for him and his career, he was still okay with the way things were turning out.
I loved the dynamic between the three of them and how they took turns doing things for each other. I loved that no one ever felt left out or forgotten in any moment and that they did all the big stuff together.
This book was so great and I need to reread it already. Thank you Lauren Blakely and Good Girls PR for this arc 🫶🏻
OK well this was a super fun read! I've recently fallen in love with Lauren Blakely's MM romances (I binged a bunch of them in the fall), and Thoroughly Pucked was actually my first time reading one with a FMC. Gah, if you want a fast paced, hilarious, and spicy MFM read (plus a little hockey!) you are not going to want to miss this book!
OMG, I loved that this book had a runaway bride situation... but the bride isn't all that upset about being jilted. Aubrey gets rescued from the bridal suite by her sports agent brother's two best friends Ledger and Dev (who are also hockey players and clients) and many unhinged hijinks ensue. Eventually she decides to go on her nonrefundable honeymoon with them, and she quickly finds out that they like to share with each other *wink wink*. And the hotel has one bed in the honeymoon suite, easy set up for a threesome.
So much of this book is just absolutely wacky, but every moment of it was entertaining. Aubrey is pretty go with the flow despite being on a massive rebound, Dev is a total sweetheart, and Ledger is a "stern brunch daddy" AND obsessed with plants. Crazy mix of characters, but it's pretty obvious they fit really well together right off the bat. It might be a little bit of instalust, but I believed it! And the SPICE... whew, so freaking hot.
Somehow, all the references to the other hockey throuples from the earlier books made the whole situation actually seem MORE plausible? I am HERE. FOR. IT. I've been meaning to try Lauren's why choose hockey books for FOREVER (I have the audiobook for Double Pucked waiting for me in Audible RIGHT NOW), why on earth did I put them off?! Her books are always such a good time (with the BEST narrators), I'm definitely going to catch back up in the series now so I'll be ready for the next release.
Once again, I am thoroughly smitten by a Lauren Blakely story! There is something about this series that has become magical and even tho the first in the series didn’t hit me right, I can safely say this series will be a re-read/listen for me in the future.
I’m going thru my notes from reading and one phrase keeps repeating in the *notes* of every highlight … ”happy sigh” … and even tho I am only scrolling thru notes on my kindle, I can feel the story once again! It was sexy and fun, and I read it practically in one sitting! From the meet-cute all the way to the end, I found the story engaging and never once trite or predictable. Well, I’m not saying that Lauren invented the wheel with this one, but the characters and their journey felt fresh and unique to me. I loved the “vacation” aspect of the story because if you’re going to explore yourself, what better place to do it than away from your “normal”. Feel me? It’s not the first time I’ve read a story with the premise of one of the MCs taking their honeymoon after being ditched and finding their forever because of it, but for this story it just felt like it fit like a glove for all three MCs and the possible future they began to build.
Those are just a few highlights from my reading experience and in no way are they the only highlights because low angst/drama, sexy steamy goodness, and fun/quirky feel-good are also highlights!
In conclusion (lol), GO DO THE THING, #trust

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Here I am. On my double honeymoon with my brother’s two best friends. It’s just the goalie, the forward, and me in this big bed. This isn’t awkward at all.
Thoroughly Pucked is a breath of fresh air! Low angst (mild pining), high heat, and humor. This book had me laughing and crying, and getting more than a little hot under the collar.
I adored the characters - Aubrey, the jilted bride who was left minutes before her wedding. Dev and Ledger, her brother’s two best friends who volunteer to spend the week with her on her honeymoon.
Fast burn and spicy! Dev and Ledger show Aubrey the joys of sharing in MF and MFM scenes. The men were master-level dirty talkers and all about bringing Aubrey exquisite pleasures.
Thoroughly Pucked was my first book from Lauren, and it won’t be my last! I was so taken with the other trouples introduced here that I must read their stories too.
Genre: Contemporary Hockey Romance Tropes/Features: Hockey, runaway bride, brother’s best friends, forced proximity, one bed, mild angst, sweet romance, grumpy/sunshine/sunshine, “just one week” Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV Relationship Type: Why Choose MFM, fast burn, spicy Book Type/Ending: Standalone with HEA
Aubrey gets dumped 10 minutes before getting married and gets whisked away from the church by her brother's two best friends after he tells them to look after her while he does damage control. Only these two friends Ledger and Dev just so happen to be two delicious hocky players who take "looking after her" to a whole new level by accompany her on what was supposed to be her honeymoon.

Sounds good butttttttt it wasn't...
I am so annoyed because I freaking loved Ledger! He was like this big hockey lumberjack who loves his feisty cat and talking to his plants.. 😍
The story just bored me to death, it lacked depth and parts of the story didn't really mesh well not to mention how Dev was like a goodie little two shoes who tried to be sexy but wasn't. Maybe it was just me but I wish there was more of Ledger, less of Dev... yup sounds good HAHA... maybe if I had of listened to the audiobook it would have been better as Teddy Hamilton was one of the narrators but we will never know 🤷🏻🤷🏻
If you’ve not read this author before, then you need to know that she writes amazing romance stories with loads of spice. This series in particular is extra saucy taking it to a MFM throuple / threesome. What I love most about her books is that love has no boundaries and it’s open to all situations and connections with consenting adults in loving relationships. If you have read the previous books in the My Hockey Romance collection then you’ll most likely love this one too. It’s very similar to the others and each throuple work through their emotions and reach an unconventional but still accepting HEA. With Dev, Aubrey and Ledger they start out as acquaintances, become fast friends and even faster lovers. The guys do their bestie and solid and save his little sister from an embarrassing situation and then take her on the honeymoon that was already booked. The story does go deeper than just the vacation and how they see what their lives might be in a year or so. A great book to start my reading year off with.
