A blonde, a brunette, and a redhead walk into a bar...
When Maggie Butler's marriage crashes and burns after thirty-two years, the last thing she's looking for is another man. As she and her two best friends work on fulfilling their Bucket Lists, their exploits land them at Buck's, a biker bar in a small town southwest of Houston. There, they meet members of the Bayou Bastards Motorcycle Club, including the club President, Buck Henderson. While Maggie is intent on keeping her walls up and her heart protected, Buck is just as intent on tearing her walls down and claiming her heart as his own.
Buck, a crusty bachelor, never met a woman he wanted to share his life with until Maggie. On Karaoke Night at the bar, Maggie stole the show and his heart. Now he has his work cut out for him, proving to Maggie that he's nothing like her ex-husband and only wants to make her his Queen.
When a rival MC's illegal activities endanger Maggie and her friends, Buck and the Bayou Bastards protect them at all costs. Buck takes the chance to show Maggie how far he's willing to go for his love.
I love this oh so romantic and endearing story, more so because the main protagonists are mature - a refreshing and welcome change to the usual run of the mill book.
The reader needs to suspend disbelief with regard to biker gangs having soft hearts and compassion to the degree shown by Buck’s BBMC, but it is a delicious adult fairytale and a wonderful read. It is exciting, romantic, tender, full of humour and some paragraphs that bring the reader to tears - an all round entertaining read.
This book has several sexually graphic sections which can be flicked past if the reader doesn’t care for explicit content.
The Bucket List - Maggie is a well written novel and all the characters are fully developed with personalities of their own. I love how Maggie turns her life around - creating something positive from the adversity she has been dealt. She is adorable, and WOW Buck is just gorgeous too! Kate and Jess, as well as the BBMC club brothers, are the loyal and supportive friends we would all like to have in our lives.
Melody Davis is a firm favourite for future book choices. Fabulous stories, and scrumptious recipes provided at the end, what more can a reader ask!
If you love your main characters, well- seasoned and mature, you'll love Maggie and Buck. This story takes us through their journey of finding love with plenty of good suspense thrown in for good measure. Well written characters and a great plot keep you turning the pages. I loved this book so much and can't wait for the next Bucket List!
An awesome book by a new author. She hooks into the story right at the beginning and draws on your emotions throughout the book. You'll chuckle, giggle and some scenes will make you laugh out loud. Then there is one scene that you don't even know you're holding your breath. It's hard putting down this book and you'll be hooked and looking for the next to come out.
Maggie and her friends put together a bucket list that they would like to do and one of them is going to a biker bar on Maggie's list. They end up going and there she meets Buck who is the president of the biker club. They start seeing each other and sparks fly. The neighbor lady across the street, Tina, disapproves of what is happening and tattle to Maggie's ex husband Jared.
You have the good guys who will protect Maggie and her friends. You have the bad guys who want Maggie for their own, busy body neighbors and a jealous ex husband who can't take the hint that they are now divorced. Needless to say it's an awesome first book that is now in my collection to read again. Give it a chance and I think you'll like it.
Melodye Davis is a new-to-me author and I’m so glad we connected through books. Her take on MC is unorthodox and somewhat original, definitely not typical. Maggie is a recently divorced older woman determined to live her life in a way that pleases her. I loved that aspect and the dynamic of having two best friends who were in her corner no matter what. This read was fun, adventurous, and heartfelt. I loved how she found love and was open to receive it on her terms. Buck is every woman’s dream of a protective, somewhat overbearing alpha-male. Although the story focused on Maggie, my curiosity has been piqued to read Kate and Jess’s stories. Bottom line; this is a heartfelt, well-written, feel good, emotional ride that will hit you in all the feels. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more.
I found Ms. Davis' books by recommendation from a friend. And am I ever glad I listened to her!
I enjoyed this later-in-life romance in an MC setting tremendously. The story is infused with humor, a bit of kickass Southern belle attitude (okay - a lot of that!), a romance that feels so genuine, intermingled with a bit of danger and mystery. And let's talk about all those Easter eggs, ma'am!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have decided the rest will be jumping line in my TBR.
This is my first book by Melodye Davis and with the pretty floral cover, I thought it would be a cute read. Well, it was cute and so much more! I hadn't read the blurb so I had no idea the story involved an MC!!! I really enjoyed the characters and I can't wait to see what the Three Musketeers get up to next!
I'm a big fan of strong women who are dealing with things later in life. Melodye's characters are funny but very relatable. I love Maggie and her best friends. They have me wanting to join them at the bar for a drink later. The love story and chemistry between Maggie and Buck is perfection.
Wow, I love a mature romance and this one hit all the right spots for me. Well written with some excitement Buck and Maggie were a magic couple . Im off to download the next one.
This was an outstanding read that completely drags you in from start to finish. It is great to see how older couples find love in the middle of their life.. This novel has you feeling all the passion, tension and emotions that the characters go through and how protective the guys in the MC are.
