This review is for the 8 book set.
I read all 8 in the series straight through. All were engaging and enjoyable. The first few seemed a bit tighter in the story and editing. The last two books seemed a bit rushed and the lack of editing showed. And, I did enjoy reading these clean books where God wasn’t afraid of being mentioned.
***Some Small Spoilers***
The reason for the 3 stars is…
In one of the books there is a very minor character that was being held hostage and is never found. There is no explanation to what happened to this girl, and no one seems to care to look for her.
In the last book there is an entire paragraph (or more) missing during the climax of the story. We are at one point in the “chase” and then we have jumped to another spot without explanation.
But my biggest issue with the series is that there is not one decent adult male in the Amish community. I have no experience with the Amish and I am not an expert in their Faith or Culture. But, in 8 books we couldn’t have one loving, caring Father? The younger adult males are hypocrites that drink, abuse or break the Amish Faith in some way. The fathers are hard, strict and show zero love to their wives or children. Then there are the mother’s who don’t stand up for their daughter’s and seem beaten down by their husbands and roles in family and community. You would think that in 8 books we could have had a few positive Amish role models.
Overall, while I completed the series, enjoyed the stories and think Alison Stone is a good writer, I probably won’t choose to read anymore from her. The not so subtle “anti”-Amish throughout the series has turned me off.

This series is very well written but I couldn’t read past the first book. It was too creepy. It’s a lot of books and they all end in a cliffhanger so you have to be invested to read them all if you want to reach the conclusion.

Enjoyed the suspense and romance. Awesome characters with difficult situations to overcome. Looking forward to many more stories like these.

Love this!
Hunters Ridge Series: Amish Romantic Suspence (The Complete 8-Book Boxed Set) by Allison Stone was a wonderful week of reading and dreaming that I was there too.
