Well this opens with one of the more gruesome Murders.
As the title and cover suggest, fire features heavily in this. I think its used very cleverly and not too gruesome throughout!
As always, the team have quite a challenge on their hands to not only discover who is doing it, but why.
This is quite deep into the series now, and it feels like catching up with friends. There are lots of personal issues interspersed throughout, Bones PTSD and Mullins dad. The antics of whom have made me cry laughing all too often.
I love how amongst the horror of the murder Tom also manages to tackle growing up privileged and the impact in children, drug abuse, dedication, alcohol abuse and misogynistic behaviour and work environments. It's never heavy. These books are always a joy to read. The epilogue was both funny, heartwarming and intriguing.
I hope there are many more books to come from one of my favourite teams.
