Can’t recommend this series enough

Fun, consistent, and fast paced, this series is ideal for a short vacation. The characters are relatable, and they evolve well with the story. The main plot, and subplots are consistent though the whole series, yet they are well balanced between books to give you a good sense that things have a closure, and are going somewhere the whole time. Give it a chance, you will not regret it.

Hmmm. this book is boring for the first half or more. The only reason I persisted in completing it is because it is part of the larger story. So all I can say to those who are slogging through this epic -- trudge on, little fantasy readers, trudge on, because when the James Gang leave the Ranch,it gets interesting and there are some great scenes in the end. The big question is - what has happened to Miko? I have my suspicions. But more on the virtues and antivirtues of the Morcyth Saga after I've finished reading the series.

fire and stars and fights, oh my

the war between the Empire and Madoc has been decided, perhaps. James has settled in to his new home and is polishing his skills, both magical and magisterial. but staying is not to be. there are too many dangers that surround his burgeoning cadre of friends and he will do some pretty crazy things to protect them, that's crystal clear.

Great story, weak writing. This is the case throughout the whole series.

"Then we do stood a chance," he said with a grin.
This quote, lifted from the third book is only one of many examples. I read the series anyway and enjoyed it. The writing did set my teeth on edge at times.

Series keeps me interested. Interesting to see the character development. Also interesting to see James mature as a mage and become interested in the "research" side. Can't wait to start the next book.

Book after book james always have another companion, but no romance for james himself, why???
Doesn't matter, the story still great. I can imagine the place where james go and doing his adventure.

This book is so boring that I could not complete it. It seems as if as this saga goes on, the books get more and more boring.
