The Denver Dragon’s captain’s perfect life was ripped to shreds when his wife suddenly passed away two years ago, leaving him a single father to their toddler girl. Since then, Archer Sullivan has taken his grief and anger out on the puck. When he’s not shredding it on the ice, he’s playing princess and having tea parties with his four-year-old daughter, Indigo.
But there’s a gaping hole in his heart where his wife used to be, and as Indy gets older, he wonders how he can raise his daughter without a mother.
When his babysitter bails on him right before a big game, Archer finds himself accepting help from an unlikely source. Veronica “Ronnie” Reynolds, his team’s scout’s daughter.
The one-time good deed turns into Archer begging Ronnie to be his new babysitter. His daughter loves Ronnie and Archer trusts her.
But the more time he spends with the quirky app developer, the more Archer begins to wonder if his heart could learn to love again.
Veronica Reynolds is on the verge of leaving her mark in the app development world, until she discovers that her now ex-boyfriend, Buck, pitched the idea as his own. With no way to prove the concept is hers, Ronnie decides to cut her losses and forge her own path. She has a plan. Create a completely new app and pitch it to another company.
There’s only one problem. Denver Dragons Captain, Archer Sullivan, and his adorable daughter.
The closer Ronnie gets to the irresistible pair, the more her creativity flourishes. More than ideas spark between her and Archer as their chemistry ignites. But when Archer goes from hot to ice cold, Ronnie must decide if she’s going to fight for the man and little girl who’ve become her family or cut her losses once again.
Latisha has done it again! Easily one of the best books I've read recently! Finished it in one sitting and now want to read it again!
I absolutely loved the dynamics between Archer, Ronnie and little Indy.
I loved that rambunctious Indy was present in the entire novel and that she was the sweetest! But she was still a total 4 year old with quirky sayings, troublemaking and just the cutest ever!
I love that Ronnie wasn't a simple character but instead one who not only was dealing with a recent breakup but family trauma as well. It made my heart break for her and want her to have her happily ever after that much more.
I love that Archer was such a gruff tough guy but so wrapped around Indy's finger. I loved that he would do anything for a Indy and that he went through so much in this book. I loved that it showed his journey through grief as he processes losing his wife 2 years prior.
I love that Latisha knew how to build up the tension between Archer and Ronnie! I love that they started as friends that grows into something more. I love the little things they did for each other and the acts of service.
I loved watching Archer soften when he was around Ronnie and yet be her tough protective hero.
I just loved everything about this book and cannot wait until everyone gets to read it too!

I’ve been dying to read Archer & Ronie’s story, especially with all the teasing Latisha has done on Instagram! So I was beyond excited when she released it early! 🥰
Archer & Ronie are precious. He’s the single dad with an adorable daughter, she’s recently out of a job & a relationship and doesn’t believe love is for her. There’s so many standout moments—from the way the team bands around Archer, the way Archer defends Ronie from her ex, the way she calls him Princess, to the real moments of struggle with faith, forgiveness, and letting go. The realness of the emotions was so well done.
If you’re looking for a hockey rom-com with deep themes among the light-hearted moments, definitely check out this story! (And the rest of the series because it’s amazing!)

✨2025 reread✨
goodness, I adore this book. It made me cry this time… it just hit differently. Love it. 😭💛
I absolutely love the single dad trope because I addition to the FMC and MMC, you get a wonderful 3rd character in the form of a child.
Single Dad Center had everything I love about the trope. The characters were fantastic, but Archer's daughter stole the show! I loved how she was so enamored with Ronnie.
Single Dad Center. You know, I married a single dad, and have always had a soft spot for them. It was a beautiful thing, reading this book that appreciates those dads. Although I went from loving Archer to wanting to throttle him COMPLETELY, to having my heart break for him, back to wanting to throttle him. He had me on my emotional toes!
And a tattooed woman with a nose ring who can't keep her place clean? It's like I was reading a story about myself!
I really am not sure what else to say here. This romcom was DEEP, with a lot of issues that were not at all light. But Latisha balanced it all beautifully. I just can't say enough good things about this book.
~I was given a complimentary copy of this book. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.~
Man, I've never shipped a couple so hard. Archer and Ronnie are perfect together! A true grumpy/sunshine, complete with banter, light teasing, and with so much depth to each of their characters! The touch-her-and-die moments were ✨perfection✨
I loved the faith aspect as well. The message of forgiveness and learning to trust again is one that I think is so needed in fiction. Another great touch was the PPD representation, which, as a mom, I appreciated. This is a light, fun read that touches on harder topics without letting said topics weigh down the book. Highly recommend!
This was a heartwarming, reluctant-to-fall, friends-to-more, single-dad/nanny, hockey romance story with the sweetest little girl, awesome found family, some deep themes, and faith threaded in so well.
This hockey series just keeps getting better and better! I was so excited for Archer’s story. And boy, did his story leave its mark. I’m still not over this story, yall.
This friends to lovers pulled at all my heart strings. Did I cry? Yes…several times.
Archer was a wonderful, single dad. I loved all his scenes with Indy, being the sweet, goofy dad who would do anything for his little girl. It just melted my heart. There’s something about watching a tough guy be so gentle and sweet with his daughter that always gets me.
Ronnie was such a fun FMC! I just loved her quirkiness and caring heart. My heart went out to her, due to her recent break up and family trauma. I wanted so badly for her to experience love and know it’s always worth it, when you find it. She fit so well with Archer and Indy. I loved her instant bond with Indy and how Indy wanted to be just like her.
I loved the slow build up between Archer and Ronnie. It fit them so well and nothing felt rushed. I loved all the little things they did for each other just to show that they cared. But when those feelings start to surface, look out. The tension and chemistry were 🔥! I love when there is barely a touch or an almost touch and that’s all you need to have some sparks. This story made me laugh, swoon, cry and everything in between.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to get lost in a sweet love story with all the feels.
I can’t wait to visit with the Denver Dragons again soon!!!

“I’m ninety-nine percent certain that Archer Sullivan just ruined me for all other men.”
I’ve been so excited to read Archer and Ronnie’s story and it didn’t disappoint. Archer is the center and team captain of the Denver Dragons and is also a single dad to the cutest, spunkiest 4 year old–Indy. I couldn’t get enough of the way he was with her and when his nanny has to leave suddenly, Ronnie steps right in. The way they each battled demons, strong emotions, and warred with their individual expectations and desires left me with a heart full of feelings. The pull of attraction is undeniable and it was so riveting to delve into the realistic way they coped and processed things.
I love this series and I love each story. It’s a comfort to see the way these characters rely on friends, teammates, family and God to get through their struggles and imperfections. While I’m deeply entrenched in my hockey romance era, this story had some deeper moments that pricked my soul, and I was there for every page of it.

There was so much healing in this book, sweet moment and man those kisses were 🔥🔥
I love a good single dad romance and this one knocked it out of the park. Archer's grief over the loss of his wife was so well described and man the depth that brought to the story was phenomenal.
Ronnie was a sweet heart and her own issues she dealt with had me tearing up.
Wow. Just wow.
The hockey and the Denver Dragons team was so much fun.
I also loved the Christian themes and elements involved.
Ugh, just gotta go cry out all the feels from this book now, and give it another reread because wow. It was fabulous.

Synopsis
Archer Captain of an ice-hockey team. Lost his wife two years ago from cancer. Has a daughter name Indy.

Archer was struggling when the new nanny that he hired had a family emengency. His friends are asking him to live a little ever since his wife passed away. While for Ronnie is to patch things up with her mom who abandon her when she was a baby. Things get interesting when he asked Ronnie for help and the good thing is that his daughter loves Ronnie a lot. And a puppy? Read Single Dad Center to find out!
Review: Love love this story. Haha… the daddy and daughter are just so cuteeee..... and Ronnie came into their lives and the picture is painted colourful again a bit too colourful too haha… (it was Indy’s doing read it then you will know). When Archer asked Ronnie to help him take care of Indy, she agreed to help him and slowly they get to know each other and open up to each other. They listen and encourage one another. And also love the way that they tease each other and also bicker with each other. You can see the characters grow and also with the help of people around them, they decided to come out of their shell. Love the fact that Ronnie get to know her mother and forgive her about what she had done. (can’t spoil it) And also one thing that her mother told her that they can always rely on God in whatever circumstances that they go through. As for Archer is his sister that had gone through what he had gone through encourage him and help him realise that the person that he lost is not going to come back again and also, she will want him to be happy again. This story made me smile, laugh, cried, swoon and feel warm. You can see God working in their lives through people around them encouraging and caring for them.
What I learn: We need to rely on God in everything. I know I’m also struggling in forgiving a person especially a person who hurt us deeply but I always have to remind myself that God forgave me though I don’t deserve it. We can always ask God for help on it because forgiveness takes time because we feel that we are not ready but we can always take baby steps just like Ronnie did. But everything with God’s help because we can’t do it on our own.
I was gifted complimentary ARC. All opinions are my own.
Can’t wait to read the next story from this series. You can order this book on Amazon and it is available on KU
This series has my heart. I have been LOVING each book. I’m so happy when another comes out so I can get another glimpse into the world around the Denver Dragons.
This story follows Archer and Veronica ‘Ronnie’. Archer lost his wife two years prior and is now a single dad to four year old Indy. Good nanny’s are hard to come by so when Ronnie agreed to care for Indy while Archer played hockey it seemed too good to be true. Especially since Indy really gravitated towards Ronnie. Archer struggles to work through his feelings with his late wife as he also navigates the new feelings budding between him and Ronnie.
My Thoughts: Latisha you really outdid yourself here. I couldn’t put this book down. I felt the electricity between Ronnie and Archer! And the aspects of faith throughout this book made it so much more special to me. This was more than a romance as it touched on life after loss and the feelings of abandonment as a child. This story shows how powerful forgiveness is and the beauty and healing that comes afterwards.
Single dad romances can so touching to read. I like to see the love for their children transfer to the romantic interest in their lives. The protectiveness Archer showed over Ronnie 😍 This was a closed door romance with sooo many emotions! Talk about SWOON!
When I read about Archers family it reminded me so much of mine. So many kids running around and a house filled with love. I love reading stories with such an importance on family.
There were so many parts to this story… can you tell I loved it! 😅
Make sure to read the Dating A Denver Dragon Series! If not you’re definitely missing out!

Thank you @sincerely.latisha for the opportunity to read and review this book! It was such a pleasure!
Ronnie, Archer and Indy, completely stole my heart!! 🥹
It’s s hard for me to process because I finished this book and just exhaled. It is a story of love, healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Don’t worry, it’s still a rom com and has it lol moments but it also shows the layers of issues we have in our lives. You can choose to stay in the past, hold on to hurts or just let love in and start a new chapter in your story.
There so much tension and the banter between them was the best! I felt like my heart was ripped out at times but Latisha wrapped up this book beautifully!
Asher and Ronnie have both been through so much and while they have both sworn off love in their own ways, will they be able to overcome their fears and past and find a deep and lasting love with each other?
Here’s some of the things I loved:
🏒Hair dye 🏒Care basket 🏒Hot kisses 🏒She wears his jersey 🏒tattoos 🏒her nickname for Asher 😂💕 🏒 tea/dance parties 🏒epilogue 🥹
This was an enjoyable read with depth. The Christian themes worked with the story and the hockey elements were great. Indy was awesome and I enjoyed the single parent finding love again storyline. Characters from other books were referenced, but this book can be read as a standalone.
Thoroughly enjoyed this next book in the Denver Dragons story! I couldn’t put it down. Archer and Ronnie’s stories are very different, but their reasons for secluding themselves are very real. How will they ever get over their pasts and be able to move on. Maybe they can help each other? But how? Read this book to find out!!! It’s soooo good!!!!
Just finished single Dad center. Heck that book was epic. I love how sweet Archer is to Ronnie. I love how he is with Indy. I absolutely adore Ronnie and Archers chemistry. The team friendship was amazing. definitely a five star read. my favorite book in the series Denver dragons💙🏒
Single Dad Center by Latisha sexton is such a sweet tender romance. This is book 4 in Dating a Denver Dragon series and can be read as a stand-alone. Archer Sullivan is captain of the Denver Dragons hockey team. His wife passed away two years ago leaving him devastated and focused solely on raising their little girl Indy. Veronica “Ronnie” Reynolds is the daughter of team scout with her own reasons for not looking for love. When Archer is in desperate need of a nanny, Veronica steps up to help and both soon discover God may have different plans for their future.
I loved Archer’s relationship with his daughter. Being a daddy’s girl myself growing up, I found this aspect of the story so very tender and sweet. So often my heart melted over Archer’s fierce yet tender love for his daughter. Then he’d do or say something that’d make me want to smack him on the back of the head. 🤣 I loved Veronica’s awkwardness. Loved that she had such a great support group. Mess with Ronnie and you had her best friend and the entire hockey team coming to her defense.
I voluntarily reviewed a ARC from the author. No positive review was required. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Veronica is betrayed in both her professional life and her love life. So clearly you’re already in her corner. She has a good friend and a bowl of ice cream to wallow in for now. Still with me? I was hooked.
A peek at chapter two introduces Archer with his daughter wrapped around his neck. This is a hockey romance folks. Clearly you’re going to love his captain of the hockey team single hot fatherliness. It’s part of the Denver Dragons Series and they’ve been so good!
The rest of the book is as good as the first chapter. Ronnie is absolutely endearing and my heart wanted her to find some real happy. And how adorable is Indy?
And can we talk about Archer? Hellooooo. I’ve never been in a second chance at love situation, but I think the author handled it beautifully. A great addition to this series and I’m looking forward to the next one. The whole ending is just swoony.
From the nicknames to the heartfelt growth this author tells a story of hope and the love that comes because of it.
The book started off with a reference to one of my favorite bands, Skillet, so I knew I was going to love it! And from the very beginning, I already fell in love with Ronnie and Archer and Archer’s daughter Indy! Archer is such a great dad and I love how Ronnie’s relationship with Indy, so fun and sweet.
Archer and Ronnie are so sweet together but also have some great tension. Wow, what a great first kiss 🔥! Archer is such a sweetheart under that gruff exterior! And gotta love a protective hero who has a soft side too! Ronnie was so quirky and fun and had great patience with both Indy and Archer. Chapter 20, just saying!!
Sexton writes books with such depth and I am here for it! I loved all the redemption plot lines and themes of forgiveness. The struggle Archer went through had tears in my eyes. This one gave me all the feels! Especially that conclusion, such a beautiful story of second chances and healing.
This was an absolutely charming romance novel. The characters are wonderfully complex as they navigate through their own personal hang ups and issues. The romantic tension in this book is delicious and yet still falls well within the realm of a clean romance. I appreciate how the author peppers in the dynamic of the characters encouraging one another in their faith journeys, even in the midst of unraveling their complicated feelings for each other. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author soon!
What a sweet, faith-filled romance! I loved the natural progression of Archer and Ronnie's love story. The balance between grief and healing is so well done and believable.
Ronnie is my favorite of Sexton's FMCs thus far. She's sweet and fun, and doesn't lack in maturity despite her assumed age gap with Archer.
And, just because this is a sweet romance does not mean it lacks in passion or fiery romance *fans face*. Can't wait for the next Denver dragon in the line up. Highly recommend!
This was my favorite book in the series!! Archer grieving the loss of his wife while trying to understand the new feelings he has for Ronnie made this book so sentimental and emotional. I loved how comfortable they were with each other right off the bat. They truly started out as friends where Archer trusted her to watch Indy (his daughter) at a game and then it blossomed into something more. They both helped each other surpass their trauma as well. Archer helped Ronnie love again when she swore she would never love, get married, and have a family of her own. In a way, Ronnie helped Archer do the same. Ronnie helped Archer realize that he can honor his wife and love someone else at the same time. He shouldn’t forget his wife and she will never be replaced.
Oh goodness Latisha always manages to make me cry! I really enjoyed this story. It has great faith threads, deep topics, swoony scenes, laugh out loud to grab the tissues feelings, hockey (love me some hockey). Definitely recommend for anyone look for a sweet contemporary romance!
Thank you Latisha for sending me an advanced copy for an honest review!
This book just captured my heart! I have enjoyed each book that I’ve read in the Dating a Denver Dragon series so far and have been excited for this one. Archer and Ronnie don’t start out looking for love. Ronnie is just being a kind friend when she offers to help take care of Archer’s daughter when his nanny has an emergency. Yet, it was clear right from the beginning that Ronnie was so good for Archer and Indy, who bonds with Ronnie right away.
I loved seeing the way attraction grew between Ronnie and Archer. It kind of snuck up on them. And then, once that attraction was there, Archer didn’t handle it well. He pretty much freaked out and made a mess of things. My heart hurt for Ronnie as she experienced real heartbreak when it seemed Archer wouldn’t open himself to the possibility of a love with her.
I adored this story from start to finish! I am having such a fun time reading through the series, however, you could easily read any of these books on their own, too, and not feel confused.
I LOVED this book! Latisha Sexton's writing is incredible- I was squealing, clutching my heart(like a dozen times), and literally melting. The faith content, the characters, the sweet gestures, LIT-ER-ALLY everything stole my heart. It slightly pushed my comfort zone, but at this moment I don’t care..it was THAT good!
I liked the faith part because it made me realize how underrepresented God is in contemporary romances, and I love a good long into the future epilogue. But, overall, it took me so long to read, and I never found myself super interested in the book.
