This Book!!!! I love everything about this book. I had the lovely pleasure of listening to this book and am looking forward to purchasing the paperback version to keep.
The story starts strong in the first chapter setting the background information that is necessary and emotional (at least for me). I ugly cried! I never do that. That is evidence that the author crafted a story that does what a book should-move the reader.
Jamie crafted a wonderful story. It is hit me in the heart in a good way. Maybe because I am getting older and the idea of losing "your person" sometimes feels like it is in your face helps me connect. I wish I could express to you how much this story has moved me.
I did get to have my laughing out loud moment and that is in Chapter 15 and Ryker talking about his horrible roommate and the roommate's girlfriend and their sexcapades. I was laughing out loud after just being moved to tears from the previous chapter.
I truly believe that this book has been able to capture all of the pieces Jamie wanted to capture. It is truly relatable. It is relevant to the human spirit. Love and loss. Rebuilding and reliance on yourself as well as your tribe. And who doesn’t love some smut packed into all of this.
I loved this book! It’s the first one I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last! She created such a wonderful cast of characters, each with their own unique set of strengths and flaws that made you fall in love with them. The main FC, Jett, felt like a friend of mine & so did her friend Nancy! The dialog between them just felt real. The main MC character was easy to picture and easy to love, his drive to fix a youthful mistake, even if it took him a lifetime was admirable. I thought the plot was solid and offered a twist toward the end. This was a quick, entertaining and enjoyable read!
Oh my I wasn’t prepared for the roller coaster wave of emotions that I went through in this book. But boy was it amazing either way you look at it. This book was highly addictive and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the plot and I loved how well writtened the book is and I love how well described the characters are made it easy to get into the book.
When Jetts firefighter husband Shawn dies saving Rykers life she's turns into herself. Spotting Ryker on a day pitnfrom his rehab brings back all the emotions, but when he turns up to help her, could there finally be a chance to heal and start anew? Well written emotions are high, reverse age gap, love after loss and more.
I loved this book! The author hit every emotion with this one! Sad funny drama and just the right amount of spicy! The characters story plot and writing were all on point! Definitely recommend!!!

Performance: I was not impressed with Eric Martin. I have listened to other single narrator audiobooks and they at least make an attempt to make character’s voices sound different. There were plenty of time I had to check which POV the chapter was to figure out who was speaking.
Story: It was just okay. There was lots of mundane details that felt like filler. For example: I stuck my credit card in the machine. I waited for the machine to tell me to remove my card. I took my card out etc. But then major plot stuff would happen and the chapter would end abruptly and time would jump. It felt like a bad Hallmark movie at times. The concept behind the story was a good one but it just wasn’t executed well.
Reverse Age gap romance. Jett, recently widowed, hires Ryker as a farm hand. There is an attraction that they both deny. Ryker goes off to college and comes back and helps the next summer, and the attraction just can't be helped anymore. Will their love survive the truth of who is responsible for Jett's husband's death? Secrets surround them as years pass.
