There are some popular verses in the Bible we like to claim without understanding the entire meaning of the verse. 1 Peter 5:7 is one of them. Just as learning to fish by casting is not easy, so casting our cares on the Lord may take some training and practice. Nilsen points out that there is some essential information Peter gives us prior to that verse, like the necessity of humility.

Nilsen gives several practical steps to help us cast our cares. He also tells encouraging stories, such as the background to the popular hymn, It Is Well With My Soul. He gives a number of verses to memorize as well as verses specifically related to casting our cares.

I recommend this insightful book for those who desire to really live into the reality trusting God for our concerns.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

God know just what you need and this book has helped me so much. Have you ever felt so overwhelmed that you feel alone? God reminds us that He is always here for each of us. I liked the title and found myself studying this book more than others. What do you think of when you hear the word “cast?” My first thought is someone casting their hook to catch something. However there are other meaning as well. This book is focused on casting out doubt, fear, anxiety and other topics that take out focus off God.

I appreciate the different Biblical references and scriptures the author uses to help illustrate how we can cast out fears and troubles away. When the author shared her story about her daughter’s illness I saw how much they leaned on God. Her daughter also had to learn to trust God and get rid of her fear.

“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.” (Proverbs 12:25). We can choose to allow fear and other things to beat us up or we can choose to trust God with everything. Don’t get into the habit of the, ”what ifs.” It does not benefit us to carry around worry. Be of good cheer!

The book is filled with encouraging words that help readers rely on God and ignore the lies of the enemy. I like how the author is insightful and writes a book we should all read.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

This inspirational book is based on 1 Peter 5:7-“casting all your care upon him, for He cares for you.” The author shares some of his own personal experiences as well as the stories of others who have faced great difficulties. There’s biblical encouragement and practical suggestions in this book as to how to practice giving ALL your cares to God. There are also three helpful lists of scriptures the author included for daily encouragement and reference in those times when you need encouragement from the Word. While there were a couple of people that the author quotes in this book that I can’t quite endorse, their quotes that were included did fit the topic. However, my favorite parts of the book were the insights that came from the author himself and his application of scripture.

This is not a full Bible study, but the chapters are about the right length to use as a daily devotional book. The list of verses to memorize also go along with using the book as a daily devotional. I appreciated reading this encouraging study on the verse.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

I have to say this book was very encouraging and helpful. I really LOVE the Look and layout of the book. Each chapter contains, Real Life Stories, Scriptures, Songs and Biblical Truths. Each chapter ends with Prayers and Prompts that help you dig deeper into the message from that chapter. The main focus of this book is to help the Reader to Rely on God and to cast our burdens and allow God to help us through the burdens and anxiety. Anxiety is a constant issue in our household and reading this book really helped me take a different approach at handling the Fears and Anxiety of Life. Cast I Peter 5:7 is filled with Biblical scriptures, illustrations, songs and poems that speak of casting all our cares upon God. The chapters are easy to read followed by steps to follow or an action item to apply the theme of the chapter in the readers Christian life. Nilsen’s penned this in an easy to follow guidance to truly learn to cast all our cares upon our Heavenly Father. If it matters to you then it’s worth talking to
God about. as cast is throwing that care on Him instead of carrying the burden. This is one book I’ll keep referring to when the journey of life becomes difficult. The author included Biblical scriptures for a 21 day period to memorize to reinforce that no matter what God wants His children to cast their cares upon Him.

I received a copy of this from Celebrate Lit. I have expressed my own thoughts.

This book is a great book of examples and Biblical scriptures about trusting and believing God. This is one book that I will keep on my bedside table to reread often. I even brought the audiobook to listen to often. at the end of the book, there are 21 verses to memorize and then there are verses about casting your cares unto the Lord and verses about God's Promises. This is a book that all Christians could use in the library and refer to often Especially if they stuck up with fear and doubt.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and separate it in these opinions on my own
