The information in this book is a gathering of knowledge from many corners of the world and from considerable sanitarium experience in addition. It represents a synthesis of the studies and experiences of many individuals who have researches the art of cleanliness from the inside out. (book's Introductory Note)
Very interesting book on a little known subject. Jensen explains the importance of maintaining clean bowels in order to have good health. He does this through explaining how the body works, the build up of waste and toxins in our bowels-often due to the quality of modern day food-and how one can do the cleansing cheaply through building one's own cleansing device. The alternative to not addressing this issue, he explains, is the slow, increasing, process of our bodies being poisoned through the circulation of these wastes through our system. Kind of unpleasant and a dry subject but very insightful and makes good sense.
I was a colon hydrotherapist several years back. This and Bernard's other bowel book are essential to anyone who is in the alternative health care field.
This book will really make you think about what the inside of your intestines might look like. We should all be thinking about what we put into our bodies and what effects these substances have on our organs and ultimately on our health. For a long time I have been contemplating a cleansing program for my liver and this book really brings to light the necessity for cleansing our tissues and organs. I have decided that my New Year's resolution for 2011 is to detoxify my liver and colon. I'm sure that it will improve my health tremendously.
Very encouraging. I did my first 10 day fast while reading this book. The book is interesting at times and boring at others. I had to make myself finish it.
I liked this book. It provides a persuasive argument for taking control of your own health care through cleansing, fasting, and "colemas". I was disappointed that it glossed over a definitive regimen. The general consensus was that I needed to get more books.
I liked the first half of the book to understand the anatomy and function of the colon and digestive organs. The second half of the book I just skimmed as I don't intend to go that far. Overall an educational read.
This book has taught me that the ONLY way to health, happiness and success is through a well maintained bowel. Some of the measures are extreme. So are the pictures.
I will read more of his books. sometimes tried and true is the best, and shoving pipes up one's rear may have a lot of medical merit. time will tell, personally.
