I’m a walking disaster. I'm awkward, perpetually uncomfortable, and afraid of everything. Truly an example of natural selection at its worst. After a series of dead-end jobs, I'm now working with my disappointed dad as a ball boy for his team of superstars. It's the only thing I’ve got going for me, even if I know it's only a matter of time before I fail epically. Then I meet them. World-famous soccer players Dalton Cross and Juandi Fernandez couldn’t be any more different. While one relishes control in all aspects of his life, the other takes everything day by day. They’re polar opposites, always butting heads, and always trying to one-up the other. Somehow they both want me. Dalton makes me feel safe, protected, and cherished—something no one’s ever cared to do before. Juandi makes me feel wild, free, and courageous—something that was sorely lacking in my sheltered life. Being with them is a dream I never thought possible for someone like me, but the secrets we buried are surfacing, and I'm worried about what this means for our future together. I’ve never been the main character—never been the chosen one. But this time, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to hold on to the two things I can't afford to lose. Their Ball Boy is an insta-attraction, super steamy MMM romance with one bumbling ball boy, two world-famous soccer players, and the spiciness that occurs between the three. Mingle in a grumpy/sunshine trope, first-times, plenty of awakenings, and you’re in for a wild ride. CWs include but are not limited to mental health representation, emotionally distant parents, and 'yes daddy' (no AP). For a full breakdown of TWs and CWs, view under copyright or Addison Beck’s website.
This was a fun, smutty read. Highly unrealistic, but still very entertaining.
The writing was maybe a little juvenile at times, and it probably could’ve used some editing, but the characters were so sweet and lovely. Bryson’s adorkable-ness matched well with flirty Juandi and broody Dalton. I love the shy nerdy types that ramble when they’re nervous. I loved how they all supported each other, how even when they were fighting they still cared.
That being said, there were some things that irked my brain a little. Spoilers ahead. Some of the events weren’t really fleshed out, more so added in for drama’s sake.
The relationships with the dads, Bryson’s and Juandi’s, were too magically fixed for me. I felt they were forgiven too easily. I also kind of wish the author expanded more on Bryson’s anxiety. It was very brushed over and, again, magically fixed.
Overall, still very fun and sexy and cute and laugh out loud at times. I am definitely looking forward to Max’s story. The little sneak peek was very intriguing.
I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
CW and tropes(spoilers): - MMM - Mentions of neglectful/distant parents - Mention of MFM scene (off page) - Mention of dead parent (off page) - Anxiety and mental health rep - Ball boy vs soccer players - Size difference - Vers MCs - Virgin MC - Virgin tops first - Queer awakening - Rimming - DP - Grumpy/sunshine - Daddy kink (no age-play)
”What are you, Dalton?” he asks him. “No.” “Tell me,” Juandi rasps, squeezing his throat until Dalton’s face turns red. “Tell me what you are.” Dalton’s eyes flick over to me before returning to Juandi. “I’m your slut.” “Yeah, you’re my slut,” Juandi confirms, licking up Dalton’s cheek before giving it a light slap. He looks at me and his cocky smirk turns me on so much. “Your daddy is my slut, querido. How does that make you feel?”
when i tell you I SCREAMED- 😩😩😍😍🥵🫠🫠
if you want a MMM with no jealousy, low angst, swoony, really unique relationship dynamics, and it’s just them figuring out what they want through some very smutty fun that turns into more, this is perfection 🤌
also just adored how they all found something in each other that they didn’t know they needed.
Omg, IS THIS BOOK MADE FOR ME?! It's so freaking good 😍. A super STEAMY MMM romance with 2 football/soccer players & their ball boy, with the perfect amount of emotions! The MCs & their development is great, I loved Juandi, Dalton, Bryson! 🥰. Devoured my #ARC within 9hrs.
Dalton is the 30yr old captain & Juan is the 25yr old star-striker of FC Denver. Dal's sturdy, grumpy, caring & hates Juan. Jua's flirty, charming, kinda arrogant & loves to tease/taunt Dal. Bryson is 23yr old virgin, college student, Coach's son, & their new ball boy. Bry's socially awkward, cute, has anxiety 🥺, mousy yet brave. I loved to see D+J's banter, but also their tenderness to Bry 🥰. I aspire to have Juandi's confidence!!
We have a seemingly straight-man who has his Bi-awakening for 2 men, an experienced bisexual & a virgin gay! Their relationship & growth is sweet to see. They all had their issues, things they felt inadequate in, I'm happy they're tackled 1-by-1. The 3 are so f'ing HOT. 3x vers action, I'M SO HAPPY! And the Daddy kink 🥵. They made me giddy 😍. The feels are there, but not too much, just perfect. The HEA is well-fought for & worth it. I'm so happy I gave this author & book a chance! RTC.
This was such a fun read. I really like how different all three guys were, but they still somehow managed to fit together perfectly. Bryson’s awkward rambling is the cutest thing ever. There were so many laugh out loud moments in this story. I’m really excited for the next book.
I originally DNF’d this, then decided to give it another go. I regret that.
The relationship dynamics just didn’t work for me at all. The way they started out, the fact that Dalton and Juandi couldn’t even stand each other half the time, and then literally everything about Bryson. I just was not having a fun time with them. I didn’t buy the enemies to lovers trope. Or the daddy kink. Or like anything about them being together.
The secondhand embarrassment from the locker room scene. Oof. That was a rough time for me.
And then the plot? If there even was one? Just the way that their individual conflicts seemed to resolve themselves with no effort at all. And in such silly ways. I just giggled with the ridiculousness of it.
I’ve loved everything else I’ve ever read by Addison Beck. I just was not the target audience for this one at all.
It wast bad, it's a smutfest with not a deep or interesting story😅 And I guess in that category, it wasnt bad at all. I'm giving it 3⭐️ in its own category not comparing it to other books with proper storyline.
But I am giving up on MMM. This story would be much better without Bryson. Dalton and Juandi's chemistry was much better and I did not find ramblings of Bryson cute to be honest, they were more on the cringy side. I just hoped for Dalton and Juandi alone parts and tried to ignore Bryson most of the time. There were so many spicy scenes without build up, without emotion after a while you get desensitized and bored.
2 stars. Pretty much only smut, and while her other book I read was similar in that regard, this one literally had nothing to make up for it. This was straight up not it.
Unexpectedly very funny like I mean I was snorting up a storm. Also very cute with just the right amount of smut.. basically, it gave what it was meant to give.
Wow! This book combines rivals to lovers, bisexual awakening, a virgin MC and ALL the STEAM! Their Ball Boy has snark, spice and so much nice! The CWs do come into play, but are handled well and we do even get a little bit of parental redemption. This book takes on instant attraction and exploration of a MMM relationship with reasonably good communication practices, but stays on the lighter side of accepting differences rather than working through them with angst.
I truly love the way each man's personality comes through in the story and the way they all fit in their poly relationship! This was a quick rea for me and I look forward to seeing what comes from the It's Complicated series in the future.
THEIR BALL BOY had a great set up, the characters were all likable, and the spice was really spicing but this romance requires you to suspend all disbelief and just go with the story. For instance Bryson's anxiety and awkwardness basically disappears as soon as he sees Dalton and Juandi together; our straight MC Dalton rushes right into a sexual relationship with 2 men; no one apparently works at the soccer stadium because these 3 are getting busy all over the place; and everything surrounding Dalton getting custody of his sisters and moving them to the US was so easy. Now I'm not saying we needed a ton of drama and angst but a little bit wouldn't hurt. This is my first book by Addison Beck so I'm not sure if their other books are the same but it didn't work for me as much and I probably won't read the next book in the series.
Content Warning: MC with anxiety; parent with a drug addiction (off page)
Wow this book was great. Juandi, Dalton & Bryson are so perfect for each other. Bryson is so adorable and I’m glad he found someone who loves him. He deserved it all. Juandi and Dalton are so perfect for Bryson and each other. I can’t wait for book 2 come along.
It's a fun mmm romance where these three would not work without all three. Each is endearing in their own way and just need the right push and circumstances to he able to have a healthy and happy relationship.
Was fun to see how each of these men grew as they worked our their relationship. As others have said, can i just keep and cuddle Bryson forever? He's just one of those characters you want to snuggle and protect, and boy, do these two men do that for him when they figure it out. Fun light-hearted read if looking for an easy intro into mmm.
3.5/5. I really enjoyed Jaundi, Bryson, and Dalton. I loved how Dalton was so strong and commanding. I loved how Jaundi was more carefree and fun. And I loved every single thing about Bryson's awkwardness. I think they all complimented each other well. I often don't like insta-lust/love/whatever, but this was fun that they immediately fell for awkward little Bryson (who I am also obsessed with). I enjoyed that everyone had their own family struggles and they helped each other through them. I especially liked Dalton's family conflict, although it seems out of character to let it get as far as it did. What I didn't necessarily love is that conflicts seemed so large and unsurmountable, then they'd be solved very quickly and easily. I also feel like there are some holes in there like *maybe spoiler* Jaundi and Bryson flying to London with Dalton and no one questioned it? Either way, it was a super fun, fast paced story. I had a blast reading it. Oh an Bryson's bestie Max was a riot. I can't wait for his book! 4/5 spice levels.
Notes: daddy, MMM, teammates, *spoiler* parenting siblings, coach's son, family issues, bi awakening
Wow. What story. I honestly thought that this was going to just be another spicy sports book but the intricacies of it were astounding.
This book is all of the tropes just smashed into one. Insta-love, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, coach's son, first times, gay/bi awakening, a third act breakup (that doesn't technically happen in the third act.)
It took a while for me to buy into the relationship between Juandi and Dalton but in the last 50ish pages I started to buy it. It felt love-triangle-y for most of the book but I think that is probably more authentic to their whole dynamic than insta-love for all.
I was pleasantly surprised that the book didn't end where I thought it would. At first I was like "why are we doing this? It feels like a prolonged epilogue" but it made sense. You know when you read a book and think, dang, I wish it was longer or had more scenes of our characters? Beck gave us that. The last few chapters are basically just an extended epilogue and it's amazing.
Nope, can't do it. Juandi is just too much of a smug asshole (father issues aside) to be likeable. He may believe Dalton is in the closet, but if Dalton asserts he's straight (and, as this is pre his bi-awakening, who is anyone to assert otherwise?), then taunting him to admit his real feelings or to just give in already, or relentlessly sexually harassing him under the guise of teasing him or ruffling his feathers is just straight-up bullshit behaviour. I'm surprised he's only been punched in the face once. And Bryson, aside from being an anxiety-ridden mess, doesn't really have a personality. I don't care how hot their relationship is going to be if all I want to do is throat punch one of them.
The book started nicely, I loved each characters and where their dynamic was going. Dalton, Juandi and Bryson were really cute and I was excited to see everything getting unfolded the more I was reading.
But then the drama arrived and it felt forced and sooo unrealistic that after 60% I tried my best…. Until 75% then I DNF. It felt so flat. The drama came and then went away in a wave of the hand like it was nothing :/
I felt like the smut was there to kinda hide the fact that the story was not there :/ I mean I like smut but that was waaay too much.
The author writing is not bad at all and I think she should have written maybe a shorter book with a stronger story.
Their Ball Boy is a delightful book with three MCs: Bryson, Juandi (Juan Diego), and Dalton. Bryson is the very not-athletic son of the head coach of FC Denver, and he gets a job as the ball boy for the team. There he meets Juandi (who's a new star on the team and a total playboy) and Dalton (the very serious team captain).
Bryson's walking-disaster ways and rambling sentences quickly steal the hearts of both the hot soccer players, much to Bryson's surprise. Though Juandi and Dalton have had their issues getting along, they can certainly bond over their affection for Bryson.
I appreciate in this book how Beck has made the voices of each MC very clear. They have three distinct personalities, and they work well together as a triad, once they each start opening up to each other and resolve their personal issues. It's very sweet to see Juandi and Dalton dote on Bryson and help him overcome his insecurities.
There is a lot of spice in this book, and many combinations of positions and MCs in the spicy scenes. It never gets boring! I enjoyed seeing their steamy scenes go from fvcking-for-fun to so much more. The men excelled at whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears one minute and dirty talking and hollering the next minute.
There were a few scenarios that were wrapped up a bit too easily, but sometimes I like to read stuff like that because I'm really rooting for things to work out for the characters, so it didn't bother me. It was definitely an enjoyable and fun book to read. Expect lots of ball-related jokes or unintentional puns from Bryson.
This was such a fun and quick read. It was super fast paced and the relationship between Bryson, Dalton, and Juandi was pretty much instantaneous.
Dalton and Juandi are famous soccer players while Bryson is the shy, kinda awkward, random fact reciting ball boy for the FC Denver soccer team. When Bryson nearly topples over the ball cart on his first day, Dalton and Juandi immediately notice him and are drawn to him.
The way that Bryson gains confidence over the course of this book was so sweet to watch. Dalton and Juandi were like the yin to Brysons yang. He was able to grow and come out of the awkwardness, shyness, and self deprecating remarks he would make about himself; all because he found two men who loved him and showed him the love he deserved.
Bryson also is a great partner for Dalton and Juandi. While Bryson is no soccer player, his gentle nature showed both Dalton and Juandi what they were also missing in their lives.
As spicy as this book was, it was equally as sweet. These characters helped one another overcome past and current traumas, achieve lifelong dreams, and achieve new dreams they didn’t even knew they had.
I loved this book. I love these characters (especially Bryson). 🥹 I look forward to reading Max’s story in the future! 🥹
Safety review only for tonight because it’s currently 2am and I’m about to fall asleep🥲🙃
• H1- virgin, never been kissed or done anything sexual, has never been in a relationship besides a short lasting relationship in 6th grade • H2- has never kissed or done anything with a man but has had sex with girls. Had previous relationships before and one of them he was about to propose to but it didn’t work out. He has never “loved” before but thought he was in love with the girl he was going to propose to, but he realized he was just comfortable, not in love. • H3- bisexual and manwhore. Many on page mentions of his manwhore past. (but not much jealousy from H1 and H2🤔) Hooks up with different people, a lot of times 2 people at once and then that’s it. He’s never had a relationship besides sex. On page scene of him in MMF sex BUT it’s not the actual act, just the end of him kissing the couple and telling them bye. (Happens before all of the H’s get together or have sex for the first time) Personally, it did irk me how he fucked around so much when he had a crush on H2 for years. • All characters in relationship are vers • they are all each others first love
this was a reread for me, it’s always gonna be a comfort - i just love them, Bryson my sweet shy and bumbling mess of a guy who has been asked by his dad, the coach of fc denver to be the new ball boy to help out the players, meet broody captain Dalton and the show off playboy Juandi.. these three totally different guys just work, the combo of the three is so sweet, they compliment each other so well, it makes for sweet and endearing reading while being totally filth.
it’s light, it’s fun and it’s such an easy read i enjoyed it just as much as the first time, it’s saved me from a hard slump <3 i swear you can’t go wrong with addison beck, auto read author fr
I thought this was going to be 5 stars but it just started to not be. Found myself very bored after 60% and something that is crazy for ME to say - but there were so many spicy scenes and that’s fab and they were well written and v hot etc but I just needed more other stuff too???? I enjoyed it and always enjoy Addison Beck but this one just wasn’t my fave of theirs!
