Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2023 For years we have been canning, drying, freezing foods to stock up and keep our supply healthy and that if anything happens we will be able to live for several years. But, one area I have been wanting to get into is Freeze Drying but did not know anyone who does it and did not want to buy an expensive machine just to have it sit on the countertop because I was not comfortable using it. This book has completely changed my mind and I want to head out this week and buy a machine and start using it. At the end of the summer it is always a project to get all the final foods processed and figuring out what to do with them all. This will give us a totally new way to preserve fruits and vegetables so they can be used in soups, casseroles and other cooking without wasting any of it. I am also, a shop to sales person so each week when I go into the grocery store the only things I buy are those that have been marked on sale. Then I come home and process the items so that they will stay in the pantry. I am really good at it because I have been doing it awhile and have the store mapped out on where these things are. Right now one of my best finds is in the vegetable or fruit section because when they get new items in the others get wrapped in bags and go on the .99 cent table. I have always dries but I don't like the way banana, strawberries, raspberries and other fruit comes out so I just don't get them. Now I will....also I love when we have eggs and milk that go on sale for .99 cents and now I can buy more and freeze dry it. Do I am thrilled that I was asked to arc this book and give a review. It is amazing and will be one of the most used books in our kitchen.
